Emily watched our dog Otis in our home for 4 days. She communicated with us everyday and was quick to respond. Our dog Otis can be shy around new people and he warmed up to Emily right away. Your dogs and your house are in good hands with Emily, we would definitely trust her to watch Otis again!

About: What sets me apart as a sitter is that I’ve lived with animals my entire life and truly love caring for them. I have experience with both cats and dogs, and I understand their routines, personalities, and needs. I own cats, and many of my friends have dogs and cats that I’ve helped take care of, giving me hands-on experience with different temperaments. I’m patient, attentive, and reliable, and I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. Pet care is already a regular part of my daily and weekly routine. I care for my own pets every day, which includes feeding, cleaning, playtime, and making sure they are comfortable and safe. I plan my schedule around pet care, so I’m used to being consistent, on time, and attentive. Because of this, it’s easy for me to fit pet sitting, walking, and check-ins into my routine and give each pet the time and care they need. I care for pets by following their usual routines and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. In my home or a client’s home, I provide fresh food and water, regular walks or playtime, litter box or cleanup care, and lots of attention. I respect the owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, medications if needed, and house rules. I always keep the environment clean and make sure pets are supervised and never left feeling stressed or ignored.

About: I have had around thirteen years of cat care experience, having owned four cats, a tarantula, and a snake throughout my entire life, and currently volunteer at an animal shelter. I have had a lot of opportunities to learn how to take care of cats and their body languages, so I am very experienced with knowing when to back off or if a cat wants love or pets; I also know what to look out for to prevent cat fights from happening or how to break one up. Although most of my experience is in cats, I am always open to learning new things or how to take care of dogs, and I am always willing to walk your dog or house sit for them because I am someone who loves animals and will never shy away from a chance to meet them! I am still a student right now, so I am only free in the afternoons and evenings during the weekdays, but I am totally free on weekends (minus 2-5 PM on Saturdays where I volunteer). I am also looking to get a part time job so my schedule might shift around. I will happily send you pictures or video updates of your puppies or kittens, and I am also extremely willing to play with them using their favorite toys, and I don’t mind spending extra time for snuggling sessions while I’m there! ❤️ My house is usually very quiet save for the occasional cara passing by, and the cats are allowed to wander about and do whatever they want. I will also never try to force an interaction with a cat if the cat does not want it. I brush and groom my cats if the opportunity comes up, and is open to snuggling with a cat anytime 🥰

Flor was an absolute delight to work with. You can tell she loves dogs, and Lily loved her right back. Flor kept us updated on feedings and activities, as well as reports on how Lily was doing overall. She left the house very neat and tidy too. We felt very comfortable leaving Lily with Flor for our trip, and I look forward to booking her again!

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was a little child, ranging from Yorkies to Great Danes. Along with taking care of friends and family dogs I have had to pleasure of owning my own. I recently purchased my own working dog and hope to bring to the table all of the knowledge I have learned through this experience! I recently finished my commercial fishing season which leaves me with plenty of free time. That being said I tend to start my mornings off early to beat the heat for the dogs! I have a fully fenced in back yard that is large enough to run around in. I also have my own dog that would enjoy keeping your dog company

About: My family owned golden retrievers during my childhood, teaching me how to properly love and care for pets. I grew up being involved in my pets' care by feeding, walking, bathing, and grooming them. Additionally, I had the experience of being a cat owner, as I lived with a cat my sophomore year of college. I would occasionally watch my roommate's cat while she was out of town. I know the love and affection our pets deserve and I excited to spoil your pets with the care they deserve! I am currently a college student, making me mainly avaiable on week day evenings/nights and weekends! I am also free to work on holidays and long term visits. I ensure quality care for pets by ensuring they are comfortable in their environment. I additionally prioritize each specific pets needs. I will provide consistent and compassionate care for you and your pets.

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is the level of patience, attentiveness, and genuine care I bring to every pet I watch. I take the time to understand each animal’s routine and specific needs so they feel comfortable and secure while you’re away.I’m reliable, communicative, and always keep owners updated, so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in caring and capable hands. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, and I plan my schedule to make sure I can give each pet consistent, focused attention. I am available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and on Wednesdays from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. These morning and early afternoon hours are perfect for walks, feeding schedules, playtime, check-ins, and maintaining your pet’s normal routine. I prioritize being punctual and dependable, so you can count on me to be there when your pet needs care. When caring for pets in my client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and stress free as possible. I follow feeding schedules carefully, provide fresh water, take them on walks, clean up after them, and spend quality time playing or simply keeping them company. I also make sure the home stays clean and secure, and I always send updates so owners feel reassured while they’re away. If caring for pets in my own home, I create a safe, calm, and welcoming environment where they can feel comfortable. I maintain consistent feeding and potty schedules, provide supervised playtime, and give them plenty of attention and affection. I’m attentive to each pet’s individual needs whether that means extra exercise, basic training reinforcement, or gentle care for senior pets so they feel at home and well cared for at all times.

FAQs for House Sitting - Bardsdale

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 2,421 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Bardsdale. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bardsdale walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bardsdale maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bardsdale choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bardsdale. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
