“I can't recommend Jeff enough! We have used him for several walks and used him for our first overnight. My 3 dogs absolutely adore him!! He is very pleasant to be around, clean, trustworthy, and very knowledgeable. We will definitely be using his services as long as we can. We truly can't thank you enough Jeff!!!”

“We were really apprehensive since our regular pet sitter is no longer in the business. We had several meet & greets and our highly anxious senior fell in love with Jacqui and that was that. She stayed with him for a week at our house and a week later he is still looking for her (I guess that makes me happy, but I used to be top dog around here ?). She pampered him, played with him, and just generally loved on him. We got photos and he was clearly happy while we were gone. He barely noticed us when we came home. I suppose that's the highest praise of all. Our home was left clean, too. To top it off, Jacqui is just a really nice person. I highly recommend her. She's a true dog lover and very responsible in your home and with your babies.”

“Sara has great communication and was very flexible when we arrived home later than expected. Our dog Luke appears totally unfazed that we left town and was kept very happy and safe.”

“One of the best sitters in the area! I’m so glad we chose Shane to care for our two dogs when we were on vacation in Europe. He sent us daily updates, left the house clean, and was paying a lot of attention to the details since my dogs require some extra care. Highly recommend!”

“Always a pleasure having Cat watch our pups - our 2 dogs love her. We also really appreciate that she leaves the house clean just as we left it. Very kind and considerate - highly recommend!”

“She did great watching our puppy and elderly dog in our home, followed my requests closely and sent me updates regularly. She even did some training with our puppy and cleaned up before she left. Thank you so much for the peace of mind!”

I'll treat your pets with kindness, patience, and care, just like they were my own. When house sitting, I follow the pet owner's routine as closely as possible to help pets feel comfortable. I make sure they are fed on schedule, et exercise and playtime, receive plenty of attention, and take any medications if needed. I will also of course maintain the cleanliness of the home, provide regular updates, and make sure both the pets and the home are safe and well cared for.
“I hope Stacy and her family are always available when we need help with our pets, because they put our minds at ease and took care of our fur babies with the greatest of care! We have had many people help us over the years with our pets and she outshined them all! Our pets loved her and I could feel how much she cared for them. Highly recommend!”

“Lexy took care of my doggo, Midnight, so amazingly! I chose house sitting because Midnight isn’t good at staying in other people’s homes and gets anxious alone. This was the first time we use rover to get someone to take care of Midnight, let alone stay at our house, we decided to try Rover! I read through Lexy’s reviews and she seemed like she would take care of Midnight well! We met up a bit before the booking to talk about Midnight and also the stay! Lexy was so sweet and automatically I knew I felt comfortable with her staying in my home. We were very nervous about leaving him with someone new but Lexy put us at ease. She sent pictures and updates of Midnight everyday which made me so much calmer during my trip! Also Lexy should take a side hustle as a doggy photographer because the pictures she took were SO cute! I’ve saved them all! Overall Lexy is amazing and Midnight had a great time with her! We definitely will have her take care of him again in the future!”

“Brigitte is a dog whisperer! She became fast friends with our anxious pup and took great care of him (and our house) while we were away. We couldn’t have asked for more…she’s the best!”

“Kimberly did a great job. She had to manage two large dogs over three days. The house and the pups were well cared for. I asked Kimberly to abide by some fairly strict rules with the dogs in order to manage their high-energy and potential anxiety and she did an excellent job. Kimberly have our pups multiple daily walks, administered pet medication, and maintained the security of the house. I strongly recommend Kimberly for your pet/house sitting needs.”

“Liana was professional, punctual, had great communication, and treated my fur babies with care. I was able to enjoy my vacation knowing I had her to look after them. Will definitely rebook in the future!”

“I hired Gabrielle to mind my home and kitty Bonnie( Daisy didnot come to stay) for 4 and half weeks. She listened carefully to all my instructions regarding my houseplants, mail , trash , and what to do in emergencies, and attended to all faithfully . she is a smart girl and responsible . She has a lot of experience with cats and Bonnie is challenging in her shyness and bonding , but she was able to connect very well and they were soon great friends as the photos she sent me showed . When I returned the home was tidy , and she had been very respectful of the space . Bonnie was happy and playful , and I was very pleased. I can recommend Gabrielle without reservation to anyone catowner .”

“Graham was fantastic. Very personable, great with our pup, Midna, and he's an excellent communicator. He showed up early to meet us and Midna immediately loved him. We felt very comfortable trusting him with our dog and our home. We will happily use Graham again, and highly recommend him to anyone who wants someone trustworthy and kind to watch their pup. (Thanks Graham!)”

“I recently had the pleasure of hiring Flor as a dog sitter for my two anxious rescue dogs, Butters and Jake. I cannot express how grateful I am for the exceptional care and service she provided. From the moment we met Flor it was evident that she had a genuine love and passion for animals. She took the time to ask detailed questions about our dog’s routine, preferences, and any specific care instructions to ensure a seamless transition during our absence. Throughout the entire duration of our trip, Flor maintained open and prompt communication, providing regular updates and photos of our dogs. Not only was she able to bond with our anxious dogs, she showered them with love, attention, and personalized care. She cleaned up their many potty accidents (we have a nervous pooper and a blind dog that can’t always find the doggie door) and left our home possibly cleaner than it was before she arrived. We are so glad to have found Flor and will continue to hire her for our future travel!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 3,169 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Piru. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Piru walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Piru maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Piru choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Piru. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
