Kevin was prompt, communicative, and courteous. He was open to hearing all our instructions for our two ~60 lbs pups. One dog has mobility issues and Kevin was kind to his needs. They were well taken care of for their time with him and we would certainly rebook.

About: I was born into a family with Saint Bernards, and over my lifetime have owned seven Saints plus an English Mastiff, a pittie mix, a cat, birds, fish, rodents, reptiles, and horses. I've been described by friends and family as a dog whisperer, and I can't help but make friends with any dog I see. I've been dogsitting for friends and family on the side for years now, doing overnight visits, extended stays, and drop-ins for potty, walks, and meals. I love cats and dogs of all sizes, but I've always had a soft spot for the giant breeds. I was a cross country runner and still live an active lifestyle, so long walks and runs are no problem. I can also do transportation to vet visits, doggy day care or walks at dog parks, etc. I'm looking forward to taking care of your furry family members! I am widely available for scheduling. I have a few steady clients with regular visits, but I can work with you and figure out the best schedule! As a lifelong animal owner, I understand the needs of many animals, as well as the feelings that owners have towards their furry friends. My initial clients were friends, but through the established trust and word of mouth recommendations, that list has grown. When doing overnight or extended stays, I will always bring in the mail, take out the trash, and perform any other household duties you may need. I've cared for sick dogs, handled emergency situations, and taken care of urine and other medical samples for my clients. Whatever you need, I can accommodate.

We feel incredibly fortunate to have found Madelina! Before our week-long trip to Canada, she took the time to build a relationship with our two dogs, Xena and Pocket, through several walks and drop-in visits. That thoughtful introduction made all the difference and gave us complete confidence while we were away. Throughout our trip, Madelina kept us updated with thoughtful messages and the sweetest photos that showed just how happy, relaxed, and loved our pups were. Those updates brought us so much peace of mind. What truly sets Madelina apart is the care she extends beyond pet sitting. She kept our home in immaculate condition, neatly stacked our mail, faithfully watered our flower and vegetable gardens, and even took the initiative to add an extra day of watering because of the summer heat. When we returned, she had washed the sheets and towels and somehow left our refrigerator cleaner and more organized than we had left it! The greatest compliment we can give is that Xena and Pocket were completely themselves when we got home—happy, content, and without a trace of stress or anxiety. It was clear they had been loved and cared for as if they were her own. Madelina is truly a gem. She is dependable, thoughtful, proactive, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. We wholeheartedly recommend her to any pet family looking for a trustworthy dog walker or pet sitter. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and look forward to having her care for Xena and Pocket again!

Sage truly went above and beyond while pet sitting for our girl Penny over the week of Thanksgiving. We can't begin to express how happy we were. She took the time leading up to the trip to meet Penny, learn her schedule and mannerisms, what she liked and didn't like and it's clear they have a bond with one another. Over our trip Sage sent lots of videos, updates, and photos which we loved. Sage was very kind and accommodating for our senior girl and made her feel very calm and relaxed with us gone for the holidays. When questions came up, for example about Penny being a picky eater, Sage reached out in a very calm and professional manner to talk with us. She not only left our house as we left it, but cleaner! She took the time to pick up the guest room and do the laundry on her own accord. Sage is an amazing dog sitter and made us feel very comfortable being away from home knowing Penny was in good hands. She has nothing but our heartfelt thanks, admiration, and we'll continue to work with her for our future trips and walks where Penny needs someone we know we can trust.

About: I’ve been taking care of animals my entire life. I have a lot of experience with big dogs & I have a pitbull. I know very well how to handle dogs who pull or can be aggressive on walks. I fostered for 3 years with SBCAS & have cared for elderly dogs, dogs with severe injuries, and other serious medical issues. I’ve also taken care of plenty of other animals including cats, rodents, & reptiles. I am trained to handle & administer medical care for cats & dogs by the Ojai Humane Society I work evenings & weekends so I’m free all day to take care of your animals while you’re at the office or out of town. Happy to take your dog on a long walk or hike. I have a high energy dog so I’m used to doing a lot of playing & running if that’s something your dog requires.

About: Helped take care of a geriatric dog who was incontinent and lost the use of her legs in the last year of her life. I have had animals in my home all my life, from dogs, cats, birds, and lizards. I usually work a couple of days a week for half days at Michaels. I am available for check-ins most mornings and in the afternoons. I live in a condo with tons of space for running around. I have two of my own cats, and any boarders would have to be fine with them. My cats have their space. I respect any habits and boundaries you have at your house for your pet. I can brush and clean up after the pet, and play their favorite game.

July 16, 2026 I contacted Julianne when my current pet sitter had informed me she was moving. She was on time for our meet and greet as well as our departure time for our trip. She was in constant contact with me sending pictures of Bogey and informing me of how they were doing throughout our trip. Needless to say I was very happy how things were going. When we returned, Bogey was very happy and calm, our sheet and towels cleaned and replaced and the house was immaculate. I we’ll definitely use Julianne as my pet sitter again. Sharon H.

Victoria is amazing, She’s a total genius with Frenchies. She treated our two like her own, got them on a great potty schedule, and kept everything consistent with drop-in walks and a solid routine. The best part: she brought her two Frenchies and met up with our two for an actual “Frenchie party” at the dog park. What more could you ask for? She’s our new go-to every time.

FAQs for House Sitting - Saticoy

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Saticoy on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 1,971 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Saticoy. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Saticoy walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Saticoy maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Saticoy choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Saticoy. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 99% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
