“Neyda was great. We couldn’t be happier with the level of care she provided to our puppies and our home. My trip was so stress free with her updates, pictures, and videos. She is super respectful and caring. I hope my puppies will be able to hang with Neyda in the future!”

“Lacey watched our dog at our house while we were gone for a long weekend and was excellent. Our dog had a great time and we felt great knowing that Lacey was taking great care of her, taking her on long walks and giving her lots of love. Lacey is great with dogs and has a calm presence that helps keep our dog mellow. This is our second time having Lacey dog sit and we’ll definitely do it again!”

“Ashley was incredible with our little Wallace. She was super communicative and sent sweet little videos of our boy every day. On top of excellent dog-sitting care, Ashley went above and beyond our expectations and tidied up our house so we could come back to a clean home after being away for so long. We already have rebooked Ashley for our next trip, and we are so grateful we found her!”

“Best experience we have ever had. This team rocks!!! We are very sensitive about our two pups and they set our minds at ease from the jump. We will be in touch again and now can make plans without worries. 10 Stars!!! Best Edith & Manny”

“We feel incredibly fortunate to have found Madelina! Before our week-long trip to Canada, she took the time to build a relationship with our two dogs, Xena and Pocket, through several walks and drop-in visits. That thoughtful introduction made all the difference and gave us complete confidence while we were away. Throughout our trip, Madelina kept us updated with thoughtful messages and the sweetest photos that showed just how happy, relaxed, and loved our pups were. Those updates brought us so much peace of mind. What truly sets Madelina apart is the care she extends beyond pet sitting. She kept our home in immaculate condition, neatly stacked our mail, faithfully watered our flower and vegetable gardens, and even took the initiative to add an extra day of watering because of the summer heat. When we returned, she had washed the sheets and towels and somehow left our refrigerator cleaner and more organized than we had left it! The greatest compliment we can give is that Xena and Pocket were completely themselves when we got home—happy, content, and without a trace of stress or anxiety. It was clear they had been loved and cared for as if they were her own. Madelina is truly a gem. She is dependable, thoughtful, proactive, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. We wholeheartedly recommend her to any pet family looking for a trustworthy dog walker or pet sitter. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and look forward to having her care for Xena and Pocket again!”

“We loved having her as our sitter. She communicated well, sent regular photo updates, and went above and beyond by washing bedding and towels, vacuuming, tidying the house, and even cleaning up the yard. The dogs adored her. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve been an animal lover my whole life. I grew up wanting to be a veterinarian but ended up being a nurse because I thought I would be too sad with sick animals. It wasn’t until I took care of my elderly dog Lucky that I realized I did have it in me to give sick animals that extra love and patience. I have experience with dogs, chickens, bunnies, horses, cows, and cats. I like cats but I’m allergic, sorry! Odds are if there’s a dog at a party I’m hanging out with the dog from the minute I get there up until it’s time to go. I love going for walks around different parts of the city to clear my mind from a stressful work week. Let me know if I can help care for your pup! I work 12 hour shifts 3 days a week and I’m usually free 4 days a week unless I pick up extra! The days that I work I start as early as 10am as late as 3pm so I can stop by before work if need be. Pets are family. I would treat your pup just as it was my own and give it the love, care, and attention they need. I know finding pet care can be difficult, but you also want someone trustworthy. I’ve been background checked to get my nursing license and have to behave very well to keep it. I would take this opportunity just as serious.
About: I’ve been taking care of animals my entire life. I have a lot of experience with big dogs & I have a pitbull. I know very well how to handle dogs who pull or can be aggressive on walks. I fostered for 3 years with SBCAS & have cared for elderly dogs, dogs with severe injuries, and other serious medical issues. I’ve also taken care of plenty of other animals including cats, rodents, & reptiles. I am trained to handle & administer medical care for cats & dogs by the Ojai Humane Society I work evenings & weekends so I’m free all day to take care of your animals while you’re at the office or out of town. Happy to take your dog on a long walk or hike. I have a high energy dog so I’m used to doing a lot of playing & running if that’s something your dog requires.

“Rachael is amazing. This was my first extended time away from Loaf, so I was pretty anxious. She sent me photos daily and it was clear that Loaf was very happy and relaxed with her!! I will definitely be booking Rachael again— she is communicative, trustworthy, clearly good with animals, and a great house guest, too! Upon my return, my apartment was in better condition than when I left it!”
“Natalie was fantastic! She took amazing care of my dog Ligeti, giving him all the attention and care he needed. I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such great hands. Highly recommend her services!”

About: Worked at Horizon Veterinary Hospital, so I’m calm and capable if a crisis comes up. I genuinely love long walks and give each pet individual attention, not just a quick in-and-out. I’ve pet sat for neighbors for years, so I’ve learned how to build trust with many different pets and owners. I also have 3 cats of my own, including one I raised from just a day old, so I understand what it takes to care for pets at every stage of life. I work from home, I can often be right there with your pet in their own space, no long stretches alone! I work from home, so all I need is WiFi, meaning I can be with your pets all day long, not just for quick visits. Your dog or cat gets consistent company and attention throughout the day, not a rushed drop-in. Your home is your pet’s safe space, and I treat it that way! Respectful of your space, mindful of routines, and focused on keeping things calm and familiar while you’re away. With my background at Horizon Veterinary Hospital, I know how to read pets’ body language and stress signals, so I can adjust to make sure they feel comfortable with me from day one. As a cat owner myself ( I have 3 of my own and raised one from just a day old ) I’m especially attentive to the small cues cats give when something’s off, and I bring that same watchfulness to every pet I care for.

About: Pets have always been a special part of my life. I’ve cared for my own pets, friends’ and family members’ dogs, and the dogs and cats of families I’ve babysat for since I was 13. After 15+ years of caring for dogs and cats, I’ve learned that every pet has their own personality, routines, and little quirks — and I love getting to know what makes each one unique. As an elementary school teacher of 6 years, I bring patience, attentiveness, and a nurturing approach to everything I do. I understand the importance of creating a safe, comfortable environment where each animal feels loved and cared for. I currently offer house sitting with pets and would be honored to care for your dog or cat like they’re part of my own family while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I truly enjoy spending time with animals and creating a safe, comfortable experience where they feel happy and cared for. I am available outside the hours of 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, with availability for early morning check-ins, afternoon visits, and evening care after 3:30 PM. I’m available for drop-in visits, walks, house sitting, and dog or cat sitting, with weekend availability when scheduled in advance. I understand how important routine, attention, and consistency are for pets, and I’ll treat yours with the same care, patience, and respect I would give my own. I care for pets in their own homes so they can stay comfortable and keep their normal routines while you’re away. I will carefully follow your instructions, respect your space, and provide the same patience and attention I would want for my own pets. During visits and house sitting, I focus on companionship, playtime, and helping your pet feel safe and cared for. For walks, I’ll follow your dog’s usual routine and take them on routes you approve of, where they feel comfortable. I’m happy to provide updates at whatever frequency works best for you, so you can feel confident knowing your pet is receiving thoughtful, dependable care.
About: I’ve taken care of all sorts of animals throughout my life. I grew up with two dogs, a beagle and a Corgi mix, fostered a pit bull for a year, and even took care of an African bush dog! I had a rat as my first pet (they’re much smarter and cleaner than you might think!), and helped to take care of horses as a teenager. I worked at a dog groomer/daycare in 2015, and was a volunteer in the veterinary clinic and the animal socializing programs at the Pasadena Humane Society in 2013. I have a hybrid work schedule - I am in the office on Mondays and Tuesdays and work remote otherwise. With an internet connection I can work from your home if necessary to be available for your pets’ needs. I am quite active and run or walk multiple miles a day - id be happy to provide opportunities for exercise for your fur baby. Some nights I have plans but I am generally flexible and available with enough advance notice. I water and feed regularly and prefer to adhere to a schedule, I provide play, exercise, and potty break opportunities, and can administer medication if necessary.

About: I grew up taking care of animals. I currently have one Russian Tortoise, one pug, and two chihuahuas. One is diabetic so I have experience with giving insulin injections and monitoring pet health. I have house sat and pet sat for years. I also worked at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo for one year and worked with animals and conservation. I am currently a student and have plenty of availability. I have class Monday and Tuesday from 3-7 pm, and Thursday from 4-5pm, but can work around it. I live in a an apartment in a safe community, with a gated yard. I have a doggy door for access to the yard. There are tons of walking paths around.
“Sasha was a godsend for our dog, Fenway. Our dog is very particular with his meds, allergy needs as well as being very dog reactive but Sasha treated Fenway perfectly while we were away. We got regular updates, beautiful pet pictures, and were up to date on how he was doing with their modified indoor play. Sasha is sweet, outgoing, and intuitive with dogs so we felt safe with her immediately. Our little family will definitely hire her again as she’s one of our best dog sitters to date.”
The median cost per night for house sitting in Casitas Springs is $69

Lacey watched our dog at our house while we were gone for a long weekend and was excellent. We’ve used Sidney several times now and she continues to be excellent! She takes our dog on hikes and long walks and even takes her swimming. Sidney communicates frequently giving us updates and is great and handling any issues that come up. Our dog loves hanging out with her and we know our dog is having a great time while we are gone. Definitely would recommend!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Casitas Springs walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Casitas Springs maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Casitas Springs choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
