Lacey watched our dog at our house while we were gone for a long weekend and was excellent. Our dog had a great time and we felt great knowing that Lacey was taking great care of her, taking her on long walks and giving her lots of love. Lacey is great with dogs and has a calm presence that helps keep our dog mellow. This is our second time having Lacey dog sit and we’ll definitely do it again!

About: I’ve been caring for animals my entire life. Growing up on a ranch, I helped raise and care for all kinds of animals including rabbits, cats, and dogs, learning hands-on responsibility and compassion from a young age. I bring decades of experience and have a special love for senior pets. Since 2011, I’ve rescued and cared for older dogs, giving them comfort, attention, and love in their final years. Two of my own cats lived to be 20, so I understand the dedication needed for long-term care. Whether it’s a playful puppy, a shy rescue, or a senior pet, I treat every animal like family. Friends and neighbors have trusted me for years to nurture, love, and care for their pets and I’d be honored to do the same for yours. I work part-time remotely, which gives me a flexible schedule to dedicate to your pet. This allows me to provide consistent attention, care, and companionship tailored to each animal’s needs. Your pet’s safety and happiness are my top priorities. I follow your pet’s routine closely, provide attentive supervision, and maintain a calm, comfortable environment. With decades of experience — from ranch animals to senior dogs, cats, and small pets — I provide patient, loving, and reliable care that pet parents can trust.

We were having a hard time finding someone to watch our dog Casanova for our wedding weekend. He was in the county shelter for over a year before we adopted him and he can be very picky about who he likes. He’s a big boy and can be intimidating as well. Leanna and Julio were amazing!!!! They were so great with him he just loved them both. They came for a meet and greet and Cass almost immediately crawled in their laps. They have such good mellow energy and they definitely made him and us super comfortable. They sent us a ton of pictures over the weekend to give us updates too which was great as well. We will for sure be using them as our go to sitters from now on and cannot recommend them highly enough!

Rachael is amazing. This was my first extended time away from Loaf, so I was pretty anxious. She sent me photos daily and it was clear that Loaf was very happy and relaxed with her!! I will definitely be booking Rachael again— she is communicative, trustworthy, clearly good with animals, and a great house guest, too! Upon my return, my apartment was in better condition than when I left it!

Sage was great! She stayed overnight at our home with our 6 month old pup, Oakley, and immediately put us at ease. She was communicative from the start, made sure we went over all care details before we left, and asked thoughtful questions. Throughout the stay, she sent several check-in texts with photos, which we truly appreciated, especially since this was our first night away. She paid attention to detail, followed Oakley’s routine, and left our home neat and clean. We would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her!

About: I was born into a family with Saint Bernards, and over my lifetime have owned seven Saints plus an English Mastiff, a pittie mix, a cat, birds, fish, rodents, reptiles, and horses. I've been described by friends and family as a dog whisperer, and I can't help but make friends with any dog I see. I've been dogsitting for friends and family on the side for years now, doing overnight visits, extended stays, and drop-ins for potty, walks, and meals. I love cats and dogs of all sizes, but I've always had a soft spot for the giant breeds. I was a cross country runner and still live an active lifestyle, so long walks and runs are no problem. I can also do transportation to vet visits, doggy day care or walks at dog parks, etc. I'm looking forward to taking care of your furry family members! I am widely available for scheduling. I have a few steady clients with regular visits, but I can work with you and figure out the best schedule! As a lifelong animal owner, I understand the needs of many animals, as well as the feelings that owners have towards their furry friends. My initial clients were friends, but through the established trust and word of mouth recommendations, that list has grown. When doing overnight or extended stays, I will always bring in the mail, take out the trash, and perform any other household duties you may need. I've cared for sick dogs, handled emergency situations, and taken care of urine and other medical samples for my clients. Whatever you need, I can accommodate.

About: "I bring a professional, detail-oriented approach to pet care, backed by a commitment to reliability and safety. I don't just 'watch' your pet—I curate their day. Whether it's a high-energy park adventure or a consistent, disciplined walking routine, I prioritize your pet's specific temperament and needs. I treat every booking as a professional contract: you can count on punctuality, clear communication, and photo updates that give you complete peace of mind. Your pet’s comfort and safety are my top priorities, and I approach every interaction with the professionalism you expect from a dedicated care expert." Because pet care isn't one-size-fits-all, I maintain a highly flexible schedule to accommodate your routine. Whether you need early morning check-ins, midday feeding and play segments, or dedicated evening companionship, I structure my days around making sure your pets stay on their preferred timelines. I am available for both weekday and weekend bookings, ensuring consistent, reliable care so your fur babies never miss a beat while you're away. I prioritize a secure and attentive environment for every dog I care for. Erin was so great with Wallace! She was flexible before booking to arrange a meet and greet, and I could tell Wallace instantly was at ease around her. We booked her to stay our our home with our pup for 10 days, and she was more than a perfect houseguest, on top of a great dog sitter. She was very communicative, sending updates and photos throughout our time away, and left the house extra clean for when we came home. We even had a delayed flight returning home, where we potentially were going to need to be gone another night, and Erin was more than willing to stay an extra night if we needed, and went back to our house once more to check on Wallace because of our delays. We will absolutely be booking Erin again!

About: I love all critters, large and small. I have two large dogs which I have both trained. They are incredibly well behaved, but I know how to give them space to be rambunctious and playful. It’s so important for pets to have a safe space to be themselves and show their beautiful, unique personalities. I know how to work with senior and leash-aggressive dogs. Kitties are wonderful with minds of their own. I give them attention when they want it, but distance if not. They are cats after all! I can take care of fish too, as I have a tank of them in addition to my dogs. My schedule is extremely flexible! I walk my dogs in the morning, but I can adjust my walk time as needed. For overnights, my husband will take care of our fur babies. I start off with an introduction to you and your pet. Treats are a great way to start off on the right paw! I ensure your pet feels safe and gets to know me. I am caring and loving, and I also know how to give space to your furry one when they need it.

About: Hi! I'm Sherrie. I'm the kind of pet sitter who sends photo updates, and may leave your home looking better than when you left. Originally from Hawaii and now based in Ojai, yet travel to you elsewhere is no problem! I've spent years caring for homes, animals, and all the little details that help owners relax while they're away. Dogs and Cats seem to like me. Whether your pet is a couch potato, an adventure buddy, a professional squirrel observer, I'll make sure they get plenty of love, attention, exercise, and companionship. When you're away, I'll provide: • Pet care and companionship • Walks, playtime, and belly rubs (when approved by management) • Medication administration if needed • Home security checks • Regular photo updates My goal is simple: for you to enjoy your trip without worry. I treat every home with respect and every pet like family. Looking forward to meeting your furry, feathered family member. I own my own company so normally have nice flexibility. I can do last minute work at times as well. Happy to discuss. Just ask! I will follow your lead on how to care for them on your property. I always like a solid list of information. Email is fine too

FAQs for House Sitting - Casitas Springs

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Casitas Springs on Rover is $39.18 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 1,403 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Casitas Springs. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Casitas Springs walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Casitas Springs maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Casitas Springs choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Casitas Springs. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 99% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
