“We feel incredibly fortunate to have found Madelina! Before our week-long trip to Canada, she took the time to build a relationship with our two dogs, Xena and Pocket, through several walks and drop-in visits. That thoughtful introduction made all the difference and gave us complete confidence while we were away. Throughout our trip, Madelina kept us updated with thoughtful messages and the sweetest photos that showed just how happy, relaxed, and loved our pups were. Those updates brought us so much peace of mind. What truly sets Madelina apart is the care she extends beyond pet sitting. She kept our home in immaculate condition, neatly stacked our mail, faithfully watered our flower and vegetable gardens, and even took the initiative to add an extra day of watering because of the summer heat. When we returned, she had washed the sheets and towels and somehow left our refrigerator cleaner and more organized than we had left it! The greatest compliment we can give is that Xena and Pocket were completely themselves when we got home—happy, content, and without a trace of stress or anxiety. It was clear they had been loved and cared for as if they were her own. Madelina is truly a gem. She is dependable, thoughtful, proactive, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. We wholeheartedly recommend her to any pet family looking for a trustworthy dog walker or pet sitter. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and look forward to having her care for Xena and Pocket again!”

“Another fantastic play date with Kevin and Jibo. Jibo has decided he owns his friend Kevin. They have a great time together and we feel a huge relief knowing Jibo is in good hands when we go for extended periods of time.”

“Lacey watched our dog at our house while we were gone for a long weekend and was excellent. Our dog had a great time and we felt great knowing that Lacey was taking great care of her, taking her on long walks and giving her lots of love. Lacey is great with dogs and has a calm presence that helps keep our dog mellow. This is our second time having Lacey dog sit and we’ll definitely do it again!”

“We had an absolutely incredible experience with Sage, and I can’t recommend her highly enough. This was our first time using Rover, and we were honestly a bit nervous going in. Our cat, Lily, is very old and can be a little grouchy and skittish around new people, which added to our concern. From the very beginning, Sage put all of those worries at ease. To our amazement, Lily warmed up to her very quickly, something we’ve rarely seen. Her professionalism and communication were outstanding. She kept us consistently updated (daily photos and FaceTime on request), which made being away so much easier, and it was clear in every message how much she genuinely cared. Sage has an intuitive understanding of cats that’s hard to put into words… she truly is a cat whisperer. On top of that, Sage took wonderful care of our home while housesitting for over a week. We didn’t know what to expect having someone stay in our house for that long, but she was incredibly respectful and left everything in perfect condition. It felt like our home was in thoughtful, capable hands the entire time. Sage didn’t just meet our expectations, she blew them away. We would trust her again without hesitation.”

“So thankful to have found Leanna & Julio! We had 2 last minute cancelations and they were able to help us out to house and corgi sit our 2 boys within a weeks notice. Leanna was very communicative and immediately put me at ease leaving Stevie & Dexter in her care for a long weekend. I received several videos and loved seeing our pups so happy and getting plenty of walks! I would highly highly recommend Leanna & Julio and will definitely be using them again in the future!”

“Thanks Ariel for taking care of our cats and dogs. Our pets were healthy and happy when we got home. Overall Ariel did a good job in caring for them and making sure they stayed safe.”

“We had Jasmine stay in our home with our pups for one week while we were away on vacation. This was a longer trip for us, so there were definitely some nerves about leaving our fur-babies! Jasmine for sure surpassed our expectations and she was very attentitive to our pups - included with many check ins and photos! We will definitely be using Jasmine again in the future :) It is clear our pups loved her and they were very well cared for!”

About: I’ve grew up in a home of dogs, so caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life. I understand how important it is to provide not just basic care, but also love, attention, and a safe, comfortable environment for every pet. Through my experience, I’m familiar with feeding routines, daily walks, playtime, and recognizing a dog’s unique personality and needs. I’m patient, reliable, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, whether that means an energetic walk, relaxing companionship, or extra cuddles. Your pet will be treated like family with me, and I’ll make sure they feel happy, safe, and well cared for while you’re away. I currently work part time, 4 to 7 hours six days a week. I currently reside and work in Ojai and partially in Ventura, so I'm never too far from home. I care for pets in their home by keeping their routine consistent and stress-free. I follow all instructions for feeding, walks, and any special needs, while making sure they get plenty of attention, playtime, and affection. I also respect your home and provide updates so you feel confident your pet is safe and happy.
“Lucas took great care of my very energetic doggo. He took him on little walks and trips, cuddled with him, and kept him on his regular feeding schedule. He took great care of my home, kept everything clean and was great at communicating anything that was going on. Would definitely recommend!”

“Kelsey was an absolute dream! I am so glad we found her! The girls (Pia and Lucy) had an absolute blast with her. She had excellent communication and went above and beyond taking care of our home. Thank you, Kelsey! Until next time 🤍”

“Rachel was great! She was professional, compassionate, and clearly an expert in dealing with an excited puppy. We had not left our puppy before and she put us right at ease. They had a great time together! I do not hesitate to recommend Rachel, and we will definitely be contacting her when we have to be out of town again.”

“Cassie was amazing! It was our first time booking with her & she followed all instructions of care & sent daily updates with videos & pictures of our pups. She kept the house clean & respected our space. We plan to book with her for any following trips if available! 🤍”

About: I’ve been taking care of animals my entire life. I have a lot of experience with big dogs & I have a pitbull. I know very well how to handle dogs who pull or can be aggressive on walks. I fostered for 3 years with SBCAS & have cared for elderly dogs, dogs with severe injuries, and other serious medical issues. I’ve also taken care of plenty of other animals including cats, rodents, & reptiles. I am trained to handle & administer medical care for cats & dogs by the Ojai Humane Society I work evenings & weekends so I’m free all day to take care of your animals while you’re at the office or out of town. Happy to take your dog on a long walk or hike. I have a high energy dog so I’m used to doing a lot of playing & running if that’s something your dog requires.
“Erin was so great with Wallace! She was flexible before booking to arrange a meet and greet, and I could tell Wallace instantly was at ease around her. We booked her to stay our our home with our pup for 10 days, and she was more than a perfect houseguest, on top of a great dog sitter. She was very communicative, sending updates and photos throughout our time away, and left the house extra clean for when we came home. We even had a delayed flight returning home, where we potentially were going to need to be gone another night, and Erin was more than willing to stay an extra night if we needed, and went back to our house once more to check on Wallace because of our delays. We will absolutely be booking Erin again!”

“Gretchen did a wonderful job watching our fur baby. She arrived promptly and kept us updated on Ottis care. I highly recommend her. Thank you so much for watching our little guy.”

“Olivia did an amazing job taking care of our four pups, which includes a senior French bulldog, two very sweet, but very large and powerful Dogo Argentinos, and a second, very mischievous escape artist French bulldog. She took time to understand each dog’s unique personality and tailors her care to each. She was also extremely communicative, and sent us pics multiple times a day. Highly recommend!”

“Victoria was amazing! I told her that I would like regularly updates because it would gave me more peace and she gave the extra mile. She made sure I was aware of how my dogs were doing at all times, making me feel calm about leaving my dogs with someone else. Cannot describe how sweet she was with them! Highly highly recommend her! You will not regret it.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Casitas Springs walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Casitas Springs maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Casitas Springs choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
