About: Hello, my name is Deandra. Also have large breed dog/cat of my own. I can administer meds, walk, and provide your animal with tlc. I have always had a passion for working with animals so just know your dog/cat will be safe when with me. I'm also always easy to get ahold of. I am a stay at home mom so I am home most of the day, and very flexible with my time. I can provide attention and care for your fur baby. I have a fenced yard with a 10' x6' ft enclosed kennel (if needed). Dogs are allowed in and out of the house throughout the day. Have lots of shade in dog run/mostly shaded yard. “Lacey watched our dog at our house while we were gone for a long weekend and was excellent. Our dog had a great time and we felt great knowing that Lacey was taking great care of her, taking her on long walks and giving her lots of love. Lacey is great with dogs and has a calm presence that helps keep our dog mellow. This is our second time having Lacey dog sit and we’ll definitely do it again!”

“Ann was absolutely PHENOMENAL watching our dog, Jaxsen, for about 2 weeks. We received consistent updates from Ann with adorable pictures and videos. We truly felt Jaxsen was in the best care and didn't have to worry about him on our trip like we typically do when placing him in someone else's care. Beyond her 10/10 care of Jaxsen, Ann also kept our house in great shape and cleaned before she left - folding every towel, cleaning each dish, everything. We have truly never had a better dog sitter EVER and will not be choosing anyone else moving forward. She is the best!!”

About: I've had dogs and many other pets my entire life- a boxer, pugs, Akita, Cairn, and a terrier mix with health issues, requiring extra care. I'm recently retired, so pet sitting will be my full time priority. I will devote all my care and attention to your pets, plants and garden. As an avid walker and hiker, I especially enjoy caring for dogs who love outdoor time and exercise. I also love exploring new communities and being in nature, so pet sitting is a great fit-it allows me to care for animals while experiencing new places in a meaningful way. I no longer have pets of my own and truly miss the companionship they bring, which makes caring for animals especially rewarding to me. Spending time with pets feels grounding and joyful, and I genuinely value creating a calm, reassuring presence for them while their people are away

“Our dogs Charlie & Zoe love Cheryl (almost as much as we do)! She's responsible, capable, and caring. We didn't have any worries while we were gone...which is priceless. We highly recommend her, and have no doubt that our dogs will be happy to see her again.”

About: I've had dogs and cats all my life and I'm very sensitive and attuned to their needs. I love walking dogs, throwing balls/frisbees as well as cuddling on the couch. I can play with cats for hours and love scratching them behind the ears until they purr. I offer short or long walks or if you have a more active pet, hikes on the SB trails or visits to the Douglas Family Preserve. For housesitting, I can guarantee your pet will be given lots of love and attention and that their routines will be honored. I teach part-time at SB City College but have a flexible schedule. I look forward to meeting your fur-baby! I am currently teaching part-time on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I have availability on MWF and most weekends. I can walk dogs in the mornings or afternoons on any of these days. I can housesit every night but cannot stay during the day on T/TH. I care for pets at client's homes. I am an early riser and I tend to your pet's needs first thing in the morning. I take dogs on potty walks right away but can also take them on longer walks as well. I am very clean and always follow directions exactly (I'm a teacher :). You can expect to come home to a clean house and a happy pet!

“This was my first time hiring Bekah to sit for my dog and she did a great job. I came home to a relaxed border collie which speaks volumes about the care she received. Bekah is communitive, prompt, and respectful. And she left the house clean! I will definitely be using her again.”

About: Hi, my name is Basilia, I also go by Juno. Although I don’t have any formal dog experience, I have grown up around dogs all my life. I have experience house/dog sitting for my friends and neighbors in high-school, and even more experience taking care of my families big dogs. Further, I have some experience taking care of senior dogs, as my late Akita spent nearly 5 years on intensive medication. I love playing with dogs, taking them on walks, going to the dog park, and making life good in the safety of their own homes. I’m a student at Santa Barbara City College, but my flexible schedule allows me to spend plenty of time with your animals! I have at least 2-4 hours a day available to spend playing with, walking, or otherwise taking care of your babies. I prioritize pet safety in my care. I listen carefully to your rules about where the animal is/isn’t allowed to go, and can provide intensive support for your animals. I make sure to spend time building trust with the animal using treats or soothing methods upon meeting them, so that they feel safe and comfortable around me.
“Our dogs were well cared for by Mike! When we got home from our trip the pups were happy, the house was clean, and while we were gone his communication was excellent. Will book Mike again!”

“Another great job by Debra. She left the house clean and our dog appeared to be well taken care of. Debra was accommodating/flexible with our start time and willing to get up early with our senior dog. She also sent updates and was quick to respond. Thank you!”

About: Hi, I’m Anne, a lifelong animal lover with over 50 years of experience caring for everything from family cats & neighborhood dogs to fish, & more. I bring calm, loving energy to every home I enter, & animals of all kinds tend to relax with me right away. I grew up in a home where pets were part of the family, & I’ve cared for an entire range of creatures. I’ve always been the person neighbors & friends trusted to look after their pets and their homes, even back in high school. Today, I’m mom to two beloved cats: 6-year-old Loki and 20-year-old Zuzu. Caring for pets at every stage of life has made me patient, intuitive, & attuned to the subtle needs of seniors, sensitive animals, & high energy pets who need movement & engagement. I love to move & to be out doors, especially with a canine sweetheart. I’m active & playful, so walks & outdoor time are always a joy, but I’m equally comfortable offering quiet companionship to shy, elderly, or anxious pets. I keep homes tidy, houseplants thriving, & communication clear & consistent while you’re away. Whether your family includes small sweethearts or large loves, I provide dependable care, gentle presence, and genuine love. My goal is simple: your pets feel safe, understood, & at home. I’d be honored to care for your animal family. 🐾💛 I work, primarily from home, & have much flexibility. I do a lot of writing. Movement outdoors & time away from the screen or project, gives me time to process, think, & refine my creativity, even when my attention is on the trail, my animal companion, or the ball that must be thrown. Movement is essential for me, so bringing a dog along, or stopping to take one for a walk, brings value to my day in more ways than it would appear. I have a few appointments during the week. None are longer than 2 hours. I attentive to the animals needs & can provide a safe environment for them to thrive. Whether it’s grooming, play, or loving attention that’s needed, I am there for them. I understand the importance of structure, safety gates, & schedules, especially whenever medication is involved.
About: I have experience volunteering and animal shelters, dog sitting for friends and family, and I fostered a dog while I was in college! I love all animals and would love the opportunity to care for your pets! I am in graduate school at USC for Occupational Therapy with a flexible schedule and free availability friday-sunday! Multiple visits to the house each day and available for overnight pet sitting as well! I follow owners’ instructions carefully and prioritize each pet’s routine, comfort, and safety. I am always available to contact and send pictures of how your pet is doing! I care for every pet like it’s my own!
About: What sets me apart as a sitter is a lifetime of hands-on animal care combined with professional hospitality-level responsibility and attention to detail. I basically grew up on a farm caring for animals of all sizes, so I’m comfortable with everything from energetic puppies to senior pets who need patience and gentle handling. I can help with basic puppy training like leash manners, crate training, and reinforcement of commands, and I’m very attentive to consistency and routines. For senior dogs, I’m experienced with slower walks, medication schedules, mobility support, and recognizing changes in behavior or health early. I focus on calm, reliable care, clear communication with owners, and making sure each pet feels safe, understood, and genuinely cared for. Pet care fits well into my schedule as a working professional because I have flexibility outside of my job. I’m typically off on Tuesdays or Thursdays, and Saturdays, which allows me to dedicate those days to longer walks, drop-ins, or extended care. On my working days, I’m usually finished by 6pm, so I’m also available for evening walks and check-ins. I’m able to plan my week in advance and remain consistent and reliable, making sure each pet gets the attention and care they need. I prioritize safety, trust, and a calm, structured environment in every home I enter. In a client’s home, I strictly follow all instructions, maintain the pet’s normal routine, and treat the space with respect and care. I make sure doors, gates, leashes, and entry points are always secure, and I never take unnecessary risks during walks or outings. I pay close attention to each pet’s behavior, energy, and health so I can quickly notice anything unusual and communicate with the owner right away if needed. I also make sure pets are never left unattended in unsafe situations.
“Monika recently watched our two dogs and our two rabbits while we were away. One of our dogs has a lot of fear around people he doesn't know and she was great with him and took her time to make sure he was comfortable. She kept in great contact with us and sent lots of great photos. She took our dogs on adventures and gave them lots of love. We were very very happy with the care that she gave our pups and bunnies and would highly recommend her!”

“Kelsey was an absolute dream! I am so glad we found her! The girls (Pia and Lucy) had an absolute blast with her. She had excellent communication and went above and beyond taking care of our home. Thank you, Kelsey! Until next time 🤍”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Carpinteria
Lisa was awesome once again! We had a flight canceled and were stranded overnight and she willingly stayed an extra night without issue. We really appreciated that. The house is clean and Baldwin is well taken care of. We will continue to book her again and again. I never worry when Lisa is at our house with our precious pup.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Carpinteria on Rover is $62.16 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Carpinteria walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Carpinteria maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Carpinteria choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Carpinteria. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
