About: Hi! I’m Kayla, a lifelong dog lover and animal person. I raised a 15-year-old Havanese from puppyhood through her senior years, and now share my life with Willow, my playful and social one-year-old cattle dog mix who absolutely loves having dog friends around. We live on a peaceful mountain property near Carpinteria with lots of outdoor space to explore. Our days are full but relaxed — usually a mix of time at home while I work on graduate school coursework, walks around the property, afternoon rest time, and beach outings or little adventures into town. I love matching each dog’s energy level — whether that means active hikes and play sessions or a slower-paced day with cozy naps and calm companionship. I’m currently in graduate school studying acupuncture, so I’m home most of the day and able to provide consistent supervision, attention, and care. I also love sending photo and video updates so you can see your pup enjoying their stay. I have experience with training and behavior work, including helping raise a previously reactive rescue dog. While I have that background, I’m currently focused on hosting dogs who are comfortable social playmates for Willow, so I’m not taking reactive dogs at this time. Our home also includes chickens (securely enclosed), and I’m happy to accommodate pickups or coordinate logistics to make things easy. If you’re looking for a safe, loving environment where your dog can enjoy outdoor adventures, companionship, and attentive care — I’d love to connect! As a graduate acupuncture student, I spend most of my days at home studying, which allows me to provide consistent supervision, companionship, and structured care. I’m able to accommodate active dogs who love adventure as well as pups who prefer a slower, cozy pace. Because I’m home frequently, dogs are rarely left alone and get lots of attention, enrichment, and outdoor time throughout the day. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. We live on a peaceful mountain property with plenty of outdoor space and a calm home environment. This property is unfenced. My dog Willow is a friendly, playful cattle dog mix who enjoys respectful dog companions. Dogs are supervised during interactions and introductions are done thoughtfully to ensure everyone feels comfortable. I’m experienced with training and behavior awareness, comfortable administering basic care, and attentive to each dog’s individual needs and boundaries. Our chickens are securely enclosed. I provide regular photo/video updates and maintain clear communication so you always feel confident while your pet is in my care.
