“Sandra was wonderful! She was very welcoming, kept us updated with messages and photos throughout the weekend, and was flexible when we needed to pick our dog up a little later than planned. We felt completely comfortable leaving him in her care and would happily have him stay with her again. Highly recommend!”

“We were very happy with Steph and it seemed our dog was happy too. She followed our feeding instructions and made sure he had 2 walks a day and got to play fetch in her backyard. I really liked the way Steph stated in touch with us through photos of our dog and comments on how he was doing. We highly recommend Step for a dog sitter . Thank you Steph”

About: I've been caring for animals for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my family always had pets, and I've spent my life caring for both dogs and cats. I currently have cats of my own, and although my beloved dogs have passed, my love for animals has never changed. I understand that every pet has unique needs, and I'll provide the same patience, affection, and dependable care that I'd want for my own pets. Caring for animals has been part of my life since I was a child. I currently care for my cats and have years of experience with both dogs and cats. I understand that every pet has its own routine and personality, and I enjoy providing playtime, affection, and dependable care so owners can have peace of mind while they're away. I'm a full-time special education teacher, and my husband is also a lifelong animal lover who is home during the day. While I will always be your pet's primary caregiver and point of contact, having another caring adult in the home means your pet will enjoy extra companionship, attention, and a safe, loving environment. I provide a safe, clean, and loving home where pets are treated like family. I have a fully fenced front and backyard, giving dogs plenty of space to play and explore safely under supervision. I also have a nearby park, perfect for walks and extra exercise. I follow each pet's normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, playtime, rest, and any special instructions you provide. My goal is to help every pet feel comfortable, secure, and loved while you're away, so you can enjoy peace of mind knowing they're in good hands.
“We had a wonderful experience booking with Kalia. She was always quick to respond to booking requests, messages, and was very understanding when we had to cancel a different booking due to a change in plans. She sent regular updates and pictures of our boy and I could tell he was having a great visit with her and her two goldens. She put our mind at ease as this was our first time booking through Rover. We had used boarding facilities in the past and our boy would come back overstimulated and often with tummy issues, but it was not the case when he stayed with Kalia. We will definitely book with her again next time!”

“We had a wonderful experience and would give more than 5 stars if we could! Our dog was so comfortable and happy during her stay, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. Communication was excellent throughout our trip - we received regular updates and felt confident that our dog was well cared for. It’s clear they genuinely love animals and provide a safe, welcoming environment. We would happily book with them again and highly recommend to other pet parents!”

“Rajarshi is absolutely amazing! He watched our dog like as if he was his own child! He sent us regular updates with pictures and videos of what our dog was doing during the day! Gave him 3-4 walks during the day, played with him and took such great care of him! We will always leave our dog with Rajarshi! Rajarshi’s background and experience in fostering dogs makes him one of the most experienced & well rounded pet sitter who you can trust blindfoldedly! I would say that anyone and everyone can trust him with their pets! I wish I could give him 10 stars ⭐️ but 5 is the maximum we can give so giving him 5 stars!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“We highly recommend Chloe! She was flexible with our drop off and pickup times and made Cairo feel right at home. We appreciated all of the updates throughout the stay and made Cairo had great stay. We’ll definitely be working with Chloe again for our next trip!”

“Hersh was able to book a last minute boarding for Olaf, my cat :3 Hersh is kind and respectful. He answers and updates calls and texts and is very conveniently located, for me at least!”

“Noemi was very good with Buster. He was in good hands with Noemi. I got frequent updates, and he got all the loving and care he needed. And as an added bonus, Noemi recommended a taco place near by that was a superb recommendation”
“Lorri took amazing care of my dog while we were out of the country. She kept in regular contact with updates and really went above and beyond to make sure that Sierra was comfortable and healthy. Fantastic sitter!”

About: I grew up with dogs since the age of 3 and, as an adult had dogs for the past 26 years. I’ve trained three puppies into respectable, loving adult dogs. And my last two dogs I trained as therapy dogs, who visited elder day programs & senior living facilities as part of their service. I work from home as a geriatric social worker and have the good fortune to set my own schedule, which allows for a lot of time for dog walks, trips to the beach & belly rubs. Exclusive access to our fenced in yard, walks in an upscale neighborhood & lots of belly rubs in our beautiful home will be granted. If appropriate, I live a short distance from the beach & beach play dates can be arranged. I have an 8 yr old golden doodle therapy dog, who will be your pup’s guide & playmate. I work as a geriatric social worker from home and make my own schedule so your dog will get loads of attention & the best of care. Sorry, no cats allowed as I’m allergic. With our 1 acre property w a surrounding fence, your dog can explore safely while I sit close. Many belly rub and neighborhood walks throughout the day will be incorporated. I have space for a crate if Clients want to bring one. I also love to snuggle with dogs and allow them on the furniture. If the days are hot I have a puppy pool, A/C & the beach is a short distance away.
“My Teddy Bear enjoyed his stay at Amber's house! He had a ball running around in her big, fenced in backyard and playing with her two girls! Teddy also enjoyed a nature walk! Amber's home is comfortable and she provided a very nice stay for my pup. She even gave me fresh eggs from her chickens! I highly recommend Amber and would not hesitate to use her again!”

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
