“Lacey watched our dog while we were gone for an overnight trip. She was great! She has a nice calm presence that our energies dog responded very well to. We returned to a happy and well cared for dog and we will definitely be using Lacey again!”

“Rae is the best! We hired her to watch our dog and house while we were away, and she took great care of both. She sent us texts and photos throughout her stay, which gave us so much peace of mind knowing everything was going well. We came home to a happy pup and a spotless house. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and can't wait to book her again!”

“We had Jasmine stay in our home with our pups for one week while we were away on vacation. This was a longer trip for us, so there were definitely some nerves about leaving our fur-babies! Jasmine for sure surpassed our expectations and she was very attentitive to our pups - included with many check ins and photos! We will definitely be using Jasmine again in the future :) It is clear our pups loved her and they were very well cared for!”

About: I’ve taken care of all sorts of animals throughout my life. I grew up with two dogs, a beagle and a Corgi mix, fostered a pit bull for a year, and even took care of an African bush dog! I had a rat as my first pet (they’re much smarter and cleaner than you might think!), and helped to take care of horses as a teenager. I worked at a dog groomer/daycare in 2015, and was a volunteer in the veterinary clinic and the animal socializing programs at the Pasadena Humane Society in 2013. I have a hybrid work schedule - I am in the office on Mondays and Tuesdays and work remote otherwise. With an internet connection I can work from your home if necessary to be available for your pets’ needs. I am quite active and run or walk multiple miles a day - id be happy to provide opportunities for exercise for your fur baby. Some nights I have plans but I am generally flexible and available with enough advance notice. I water and feed regularly and prefer to adhere to a schedule, I provide play, exercise, and potty break opportunities, and can administer medication if necessary.
About: Hi, I'm Emily! I will care for your dog just as I care for my own, with lots of care and love! I love getting to know your dog and creating the most comfortable and enjoyable experience possible for them. By the time a dog heads back home, I often feel like I’ve developed a bond with them, and this experience is a big part of why I do it. I have a playful, young cattle dog. I also had a sweet senior chow/shepherd mix. My cattle dog gets along well with seniors, since he was raised with one, just as much as he loves to play with high-energy friends. Currently I work a flexible schedule that allows me flexibility for dog walking/drop ins. Usually I can create time in my schedule based on your dog's needs. As a trusted sitter, I am careful to follow any instructions you have for your dogs needs and the care of your home as well.
“Julio and Leanna were absolutely amazing to our fur-babies! They are a blessing to depend on caring for not only our pets, but for our dwelling! They work as a team and that couldn’t make us happier since we do the same. They communicate effectively and efficiently, daily updates and photos which caused us to be at ease! ❤️🙌❤️🙌”

“Ashley was incredible with our little Wallace. She was super communicative and sent sweet little videos of our boy every day. On top of excellent dog-sitting care, Ashley went above and beyond our expectations and tidied up our house so we could come back to a clean home after being away for so long. We already have rebooked Ashley for our next trip, and we are so grateful we found her!”

I fostered for 3 years with SBCAS & have cared for elderly dogs, dogs with severe injuries, and other serious medical issues. I’ve also taken care of plenty of other animals including cats, rodents, & reptiles. I am trained to handle & administer medical care for cats & dogs by the Ojai Humane Society I work evenings & weekends so I’m free all day to take care of your animals while you’re at the office or out of town. About: I’ve been taking care of cats and dogs since I was a kid. I also have been fostering cats and dogs for the past decade. I’ve taken care of animals with disabilities, seniors, and puppies / kittens :) I’m a photographer so my schedule is pretty free. About: Dog lover with loads of experience and would love to meet your furry family members and treat them like royalty while you're away! I have a lot of energy and love to provide. I've lived in a house of pets all my life, and am a huge animal lover, and have been pet sitting since I was a little kid. My schedule is really open and flexible because I work from home, so I have a ton of availability to come to your place or host your pet at mine. I live in a house with animal lovers with a fully enclosed outdoor space, in a great calm residential area close to Lincoln Park in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood. Why I love dog sitting I have always been a dog lover since watching Benji over and over again as a child. I grew up with many pets and dogs and started watching them for friends and neighborhoods as a kid. My experience administering medication It depends on the format, most pets can be very finicky about this, but if it were a case that it was mixed in food, I wouldn't mind. I’m currently working part time, so maximum time away would be less than a few hours. I’m home most days and evenings, and love to take pups on outings! I have a fully enclosed yard and no pets of my own so your dog can have the run of the place! They are welcome on couches!
“Brooke was great and took thoughtful care of our elderly English Bulldog, who instantly seemed to bond with Brooke and showed happiness in all the pictures we received consistently along the way. We hope to work with Brooke again!”

About: Worked at Horizon Veterinary Hospital, so I’m calm and capable if a crisis comes up. I genuinely love long walks and give each pet individual attention, not just a quick in-and-out. I’ve pet sat for neighbors for years, so I’ve learned how to build trust with many different pets and owners. I also have 3 cats of my own, including one I raised from just a day old, so I understand what it takes to care for pets at every stage of life. I work from home, I can often be right there with your pet in their own space, no long stretches alone! I work from home, so all I need is WiFi, meaning I can be with your pets all day long, not just for quick visits. Your dog or cat gets consistent company and attention throughout the day, not a rushed drop-in. Your home is your pet’s safe space, and I treat it that way! Respectful of your space, mindful of routines, and focused on keeping things calm and familiar while you’re away. With my background at Horizon Veterinary Hospital, I know how to read pets’ body language and stress signals, so I can adjust to make sure they feel comfortable with me from day one. As a cat owner myself ( I have 3 of my own and raised one from just a day old ) I’m especially attentive to the small cues cats give when something’s off, and I bring that same watchfulness to every pet I care for.
About: I have lived with many dogs and cats my whole life, in this way I have always been raised to care for animals. I have also trained a chocolate Labrador from puppy to adulthood! I know the basic methods of discipline for pets, while knowing the basic needs of care and love for them! I currently work in the film industry part time in the camera department. The rest of my work in video content creation is remote, this allows me to be flexible with my schedule and location. When at a clients home, I leave a large window of time to just spend time with the pets, whether that be petting, playing fetch, scratching bellies, or just hanging out with one another. Time with me and pets make me happy, and I believe the pets as well! Most of my hours in a day, in fact will be spent with the pet.
“This was my first time using Joseph and he was great. He was prompt in showing up for the meet and greet and my dogs were well taken care of during the stay. He even was able to work with me when I had to return from my trip early due to an illness. Thank you Joseph!”

“This was my first time using this service and I was a little nervous about it, but after meeting Liz, I knew it would work out. Liz did a great job caring for our animals. They seemed happy to have her company, she sent lots of pictures and she left the house in great shape. I will definitely book with Liz again!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 1,175 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Wheeler Springs. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wheeler Springs walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wheeler Springs maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wheeler Springs choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
