About: I’ve been taking care of animals my entire life. I have a lot of experience with big dogs & I have a pitbull. I know very well how to handle dogs who pull or can be aggressive on walks. I fostered for 3 years with SBCAS & have cared for elderly dogs, dogs with severe injuries, and other serious medical issues. I’ve also taken care of plenty of other animals including cats, rodents, & reptiles. I am trained to handle & administer medical care for cats & dogs by the Ojai Humane Society I work evenings & weekends so I’m free all day to take care of your animals while you’re at the office or out of town. Happy to take your dog on a long walk or hike. I have a high energy dog so I’m used to doing a lot of playing & running if that’s something your dog requires.
“Melissa was a Wonderful Dog Walker for my 2 year old Lab/Shepard Mix... She Never Missed a Day.. She Carried her 4 month old Baby in a backpack while she Walked. She had to take a break to tend to her growing Baby...”

About: Worked at Horizon Veterinary Hospital, so I’m calm and capable if a crisis comes up. I genuinely love long walks and give each pet individual attention, not just a quick in-and-out. I’ve pet sat for neighbors for years, so I’ve learned how to build trust with many different pets and owners. I also have 3 cats of my own, including one I raised from just a day old, so I understand what it takes to care for pets at every stage of life. I work from home, I can often be right there with your pet in their own space, no long stretches alone! I work from home, so all I need is WiFi, meaning I can be with your pets all day long, not just for quick visits. Your dog or cat gets consistent company and attention throughout the day, not a rushed drop-in. Your home is your pet’s safe space, and I treat it that way! Respectful of your space, mindful of routines, and focused on keeping things calm and familiar while you’re away. With my background at Horizon Veterinary Hospital, I know how to read pets’ body language and stress signals, so I can adjust to make sure they feel comfortable with me from day one. As a cat owner myself ( I have 3 of my own and raised one from just a day old ) I’m especially attentive to the small cues cats give when something’s off, and I bring that same watchfulness to every pet I care for.

“Vaida was great! She came the night before to meet the dogs and ensure they were comfortable with her. They definitely were--and they thoroughly enjoyed their walk with her the next day. Thanks Vaida! We look forward to seeing you again soon!”

About: Hi! I am a pet owner for over 14+ years. Cats, dogs, birds, rabbits, turtles, and fish, I’ve had them. I’m so happy to say that all have lived happy lives with so much care and love from family. Plus tons of my family members are vets so I’ve had the amazing opportunity to meet different animals and learn all about them. This allowed me to understand animals and cater to their needs rather than be confused and let them be. I’ve also taken care of 3 cats, 5 dogs, and 3 kids all at once, so I believe I’m pretty trustworthy and responsible haha. In my house, your animal is like my own and will be given all the love in the world. Regardless, I always put pets needs over mine because they are the special creatures in Life that need all the love and care they can get :)
About: I was born into a family with Saint Bernards, and over my lifetime have owned seven Saints plus an English Mastiff, a pittie mix, a cat, birds, fish, rodents, reptiles, and horses. I've been described by friends and family as a dog whisperer, and I can't help but make friends with any dog I see. I've been dogsitting for friends and family on the side for years now, doing overnight visits, extended stays, and drop-ins for potty, walks, and meals. I love cats and dogs of all sizes, but I've always had a soft spot for the giant breeds. I was a cross country runner and still live an active lifestyle, so long walks and runs are no problem. I can also do transportation to vet visits, doggy day care or walks at dog parks, etc. I'm looking forward to taking care of your furry family members! I am widely available for scheduling. I have a few steady clients with regular visits, but I can work with you and figure out the best schedule! As a lifelong animal owner, I understand the needs of many animals, as well as the feelings that owners have towards their furry friends. My initial clients were friends, but through the established trust and word of mouth recommendations, that list has grown. When doing overnight or extended stays, I will always bring in the mail, take out the trash, and perform any other household duties you may need. I've cared for sick dogs, handled emergency situations, and taken care of urine and other medical samples for my clients. Whatever you need, I can accommodate.

About: My name is Julie and my partner, Scotty and I (pictured above) have over 25 years of experience walking, sitting and caring for all animals, as well as luxury homes. We absolutely love all animals and enjoy spending every minute with them! We work with a variety of animals: dogs, cats, chickens, birds, horses, mules, ponies, reptiles (chameleons, lizards, snakes, turtles, tortoises, frogs all kinds), fish, rabbits, rodents (hamsters, guinea pigs, rats, mice) and exotic animals such as ferrets. We care for elderly pets, and have experience providing daily medication/injections. We can help to maintain the routine and love they are used to, so they will not feel alone while you are away. When booking with us, you will get two pet sitters for the price of one. Since one of us works remote, there is always someone to take care of your pets while you are gone. We do accept last minute requests and will make it happen if we can. Our home provides a safe, warm, welcoming environment for pet guests and there is a resident neutered male cattle dog mix, Snacks, as our companion ambassador to enrich any dog-guest's stay. I have volunteered at animal shelters since I was in high school. Family and friends have relied on me since I was very young to care for their pets. I am responsible, reliable, loving, and very caring. We are available for dog walks, house sitting, boarding at our house (we have a yard and live on a giant park/dog park), drop-ins, pet transport, pet errands and vet visits (complete with detailed reports). 🥰🐶🐾 We work from home and have a flexible schedule, which is ideal for petsitting. We're very active with multiple walks and park visits throughout the day. We love to spoil our pet-guests with trips to the beach to dig/play, hikes on nearby trails and plenty of enrichment activities (puzzles, lick mats, brain toys) throughout the day. We live on a huge park/fenced dog park and have plenty of room for dogs to play (indoors and outdoors). Our house is clutter free and has ample room for indoor play complete with enrichment activities/toys! We offer morning/afternoon/evening feedings. The goal is to keep their routine similar to their home routine! We give our dogs plenty of exercise and prefer to keep them uncrated if possible (unless they prefer their crate).
About: I have had dogs since I was kid. I have owned 10+ dogs of all different breeds. I’m experienced with aggressive dogs and dogs with medical conditions or special needs. Puppy or seniors I got you! Animals are my life! The great thing about my house is someone is always home. My boyfriend helps me while I work at night. I am willing to pick up and drop off if needed. About: I have had dogs my entire life. My step dad was hired with the Ventura County Animal Shelter when we came to Ventura in 1973 and he brought home just about anything that came through the shelter doors. Before coming to Ventura, I was raised in a rural community and had all the farm animals. My family has been involved in animal rescue for many years. I regularly donate items to SPARC, CARL and Ventura County Animal Services. I had Boxers for several years, and my sweet Doxie Gemma passed away Oct 8, 2024. I currently have cats. I am retired so pet sitting/dog walking and drop in visits is a big part of my days and is my "retirement" job. I love it and enjoy every pet I get to interact with whether they stay in my home, or I go for drop in visits. I have a fenced yard and will always keep dogs leashed when we are outside of the yard/home. If the dog likes to go to the dog park, I will always ask permission before taking that activity on.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
