We reached out for a last-minute dog sitter over the holidays for our 8-year-old small terrier mix, Zazu. Zazu can be a little bossy and defensive with other dogs, which we gave them a heads up about since they have a big dog at home. Julie and Scott did an AMAZING job integrating Zazu into their home life and making her feel comfortable with them and their sweet dog, Snacks. They sent lots of wonderful photos, videos, and updates - including videos of Zazu playing happily with Snacks! “Christina is a fabulous cat sitter and person! We had a great meet and great where she played with both cats, made sure she understood their feeding routine, asked about treats/toys/cat brushes, and she is the only pet sitter we've had through Rover who asked about emergency care (if needed), so she could be prepared if necessary. She spent much more time than the "required" 30 minutes per visit and took a ton of photos and videos. We could tell she spent time playing with them and didn't just rush in and rush out. The litter boxes were kept very clean and she has a great sense of humor, always letting us know that the cats left "presents" in the box each day. She was comfortable adding supplements to their food, which vary day to day. Christina is also familiar with RVs/travel trailers and took great care of ours. She also went above and beyond by washing their bowls, vacuuming up cat hair and dried cat food, and cleaning up a hair ball. One of our cats vomited up her food and she made sure to let me know and even followed up after we got back to make sure she was ok. Christina is also an incredibly talented artist. She left us some drawings of both cats that we will cherish forever. She allowed us to have a great Thanksgiving vacation with no doubts that our cats were being well taken care of. About: I've taken care of dogs my whole life, but developed a love for it at 12. I've cared for many dogs from friends and family throughout the years, including our family dog. About: My name is Julie and my partner, Scotty and I (pictured above) have over 25 years of experience walking, sitting and caring for all animals, as well as luxury homes. We absolutely love all animals and enjoy spending every minute with them! We work with a variety of animals: dogs, cats, chickens, birds, horses, mules, ponies, reptiles (chameleons, lizards, snakes, turtles, tortoises, frogs all kinds), fish, rabbits, rodents (hamsters, guinea pigs, rats, mice) and exotic animals such as ferrets. When booking with us, you will get two pet sitters for the price of one. Since one of us works remote, there is always someone to take care of your pets while you are gone. Our home provides a safe, warm, welcoming environment for pet guests and there is a resident neutered male cattle dog mix, Snacks, as our companion ambassador to enrich any dog-guest's stay. About: I have had dogs my entire life. My step dad was hired with the Ventura County Animal Shelter when we came to Ventura in 1973 and he brought home just about anything that came through the shelter doors. Before coming to Ventura, I was raised in a rural community and had all the farm animals. My family has been involved in animal rescue for many years. I regularly donate items to SPARC, CARL and Ventura County Animal Services. I had Boxers for several years, and my sweet Doxie Gemma passed away Oct 8, 2024. I currently have cats. I am retired so pet sitting/dog walking and drop in visits is a big part of my days and is my "retirement" job. I love it and enjoy every pet I get to interact with whether they stay in my home, or I go for drop in visits. I have a fenced yard and will always keep dogs leashed when we are outside of the yard/home. If the dog likes to go to the dog park, I will always ask permission before taking that activity on.
