What amazed me most is that Dolly, who once hid under the bed for years and only gradually began trusting me, was sitting on Dawn’s lap and letting her be petted within a week. About: Growing up I’ve always been drawn to cats and have constantly begged to have one since I was young. Luckily, I was eventually able to experience the love and comfort cats bring. About: Hi! I'm Jessica and I would love to offer your dog a home away from home with lots of love and exercise! I have always been a huge animal lover. Not only have I had pets my whole life and worked for numerous families and friends caring for their pets, but I have professional experience caring for all types of animals. A few of the organizations that I have volunteered for are the Humane Society, Santa Barbara Zoo, and the Santa Barbara Marine Mammal Center. We go on outings to nearby dog-friendly parks (Camino Real and Arroyo Verde are the favorites) and absolutely love to go hiking in our beautiful mountains, so you can be confident that your dog will get some quality outdoors time, whether they need a long walk or a good game of fetch! I am more than happy to take energetic pooches to off-leash parks if the owner and I both feel comfortable with the dog's recall and safety. Between outings, your dog will have the house and yard available as well as lots of attention from our family which includes myself, my husband, our 2 young kids, and our playful 30 lb dog, Sombra. There is plenty of room to run around! We have a backyard that is fully fenced as well as an open space of the living room with a box full of dog toys that always ends up being the puppy play area :) I guarantee your dog will love their time staying in a house with a yard and the beach and park close by. I will treat your pup like my own with lots of love and follow any specific guidelines you have for your pet regarding diet, leashes, exercise needs, training, preferred sleeping arrangements, allowed on furniture, etc. I will also send updates and photos during your dog’s stay. About: I grew up taking care of animals. I currently have one Russian Tortoise, one pug, and two chihuahuas. I have class Monday and Tuesday from 3-7 pm, and Thursday from 4-5pm, but can work around it. I live in a an apartment in a safe community, with a gated yard. I have a doggy door for access to the yard. There are tons of walking paths around.

About: I have had dogs my entire life. My step dad was hired with the Ventura County Animal Shelter when we came to Ventura in 1973 and he brought home just about anything that came through the shelter doors. Before coming to Ventura, I was raised in a rural community and had all the farm animals. My family has been involved in animal rescue for many years. I regularly donate items to SPARC, CARL and Ventura County Animal Services. I had Boxers for several years, and my sweet Doxie Gemma passed away Oct 8, 2024. I currently have cats. I am retired so pet sitting/dog walking and drop in visits is a big part of my days and is my "retirement" job. I love it and enjoy every pet I get to interact with whether they stay in my home, or I go for drop in visits. I have a fenced yard and will always keep dogs leashed when we are outside of the yard/home. If the dog likes to go to the dog park, I will always ask permission before taking that activity on.
