“Ashley exceeded all my expectations. She’s kind, communicative and took time to understand my dog and make sure he was comfortable. She sent pictures and updates throughout the day.”

“Brittany is great! We had never used a sitter or taken our dog to doggy daycare before so we were a little nervous, but Brittany responded quickly, sent multiple pictures throughout the day, and our dog loved her. Will definitely book with her again!”

About: I've had many dogs of my own, so I'm comfortable caring for dogs with different personalities and energy levels. I enjoy spending time with them, whether it's going for walks, playing, or just keeping them company. I make sure they stay on their routine, get plenty of attention, and feel safe, happy, and well cared for while their owner is away. I'm a part-time student, so I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to care for your pets. I'll make sure they get regular walks, playtime, fresh food and water, and lots of attention. I'll treat your pets with kindness, patience, and care, just like they were my own. When house sitting, I follow the pet owner's routine as closely as possible to help pets feel comfortable. I make sure they are fed on schedule, et exercise and playtime, receive plenty of attention, and take any medications if needed. I will also of course maintain the cleanliness of the home, provide regular updates, and make sure both the pets and the home are safe and well cared for.
“Thanks to Kareen and her lovely daughters; my 4 puppy’s first time in day care was awesome. Kareen and her daughters kept her occupied and gave her lots of attention. Would definitely use Kareen again!”

“Elaine and Marty have given me peace of mind while traveling for work or pleasure. I know Zoey is home away from home with her daily routine and the love she receives. I am guilt free leaving here there and words cannot express my gratitude to Elaine and Marty.”

“Alice was great! She was attentive and very responsive while our pup Mimi was in her care. We plan to book with her again and we would recommend her to anyone! :)”

About: Hi! I have a year and 3 months old orange tabbies. I watched all videos on YouTube, my favorite is Jackson Galaxy :) me and my boyfriend are absolutely in love with our cats and want to have an opportunity to meet other cats and dogs to share the joy of life. Me and my boyfriend work from home, my schedule is flexible during the week and on weekends. Available on a short notice. Holidays are also available. We have plenty of space available, depending on the character and personality of pets they can hang out together or have their own safe space.
“Andrew and Karrie are kind, professional and treat your pets like their own. They address any concerns that you have and take their services seriously. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is particular about who watches their pets.”

About: I have over 10 years of experience with dog sitting, helping family and friends’ dogs. I have two dogs myself, a pug and a terrier mixed. They are both well behaved and trained, they love having friends over. I do work on the weekdays, but weekends are usually free with the dogs and kids at home. We love to take them for a long walk around the neighborhood. I have a fenced in backyard and front yard, my dogs love it. It will be great for many more friends to join during the weekends.
“Christopher was wonderful with our boy. When it was time to come home, instead of being ready to leave he rolled over for a belly rub. My doggie is happy and so are we. Thank you so much.”

About: I’ve been surrounded by dogs and cats my entire life and have always considered my pets part of the family. When your pet stays with me, they’ll receive the same love, attention, and care that I give my own fur babies. I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes—from 12-pound companions to gentle giants over 200 pounds—and understand that every pet has their own unique personality, comfort level, and routine. Whether your pet loves playtime, cuddles, quiet companionship, or a little extra patience while adjusting to a new environment, I’m happy to accommodate their needs. I also have a cat who enjoys having her own space and is comfortable around dogs. Our home is calm, friendly, and welcoming to both canine and feline guests. Your pet will enjoy a safe, spacious home with a secure concrete backyard and plenty of room to relax, play, and explore. My goal is to make every stay as comfortable and stress-free as possible so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member! 🐶😻 I work from home and am around all day to let the dogs into the backyard, as well as attend to any car needs they may have! I take serious consideration into the safety and care of the animals in my home! I have extra rooms with nice windows and ventilation in case your animal needs privacy and am around all day to allow them in and outside as you see fit!

“How very fortunate we are (Dustin dog and me), and what a huge relief it has been to have connected with Nancy and her sweet Roxy. When our Weimaraner got ill and died suddenly I needed to switch from having our pet sitter staying at our house to the sitter's house so Dustin wouldn't be alone several hours each day. He also needs canine friends but is often reactive (growl, bark, snap if he is scared enough) and needs exposure, time and patience when meeting a new dog. He is not comfortable being handled (he is 14 pounds) by new people. Nancy and Roxy have been wonderful in keeping him in his comfort zone and gaining his trust. After several successful short daycare sessions we will start short boarding stays before our out of town trip. Needless to say I give Nancy the highest recommendation.”

“Ayni & Alfonsus are incredible! My little Ocean gets excited when I drop her off. Shes also older/tripled and they take excellent care of her with plenty of updates via text, photo, video. Glad I found them! Highly recommend.”

“Cassandra was AWESOME!! Odie is pretty timid with new people but right when we met her, he was so comfy!! Cassandra was super communicative and kept me in the loop the whole time!! Thank you so much for taking care of my sweet boy! If we are ever in the area again I will definitely make sure to book with you. Odie says hi and thank you as well 💕”

“Although Macho was only with Mariana and family for six hours, they kept him occupied and he wasn't distressed from being away from his Mama. Definitely recommend Mariana and we'll be certain to avail ourselves of her services again ourselves. Macho's Dad”

Gage was wonderful with Riley! He was friendly, attentive, and reassuring from the start, which made us feel completely at ease. He sent great updates throughout the evening and even took her on a little walk, which we really appreciated. We’ll definitely be adding him to our list of trusted dog sitters for future outings.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
