I have rescued, fostered, saved, nursed to health, and (lightly) trained over 100 dogs and cats. I grew up with small pets and cared for pet rats and mice when young. I started working with wild (feral) cats in college 21 years ago. I have a giant dog, a large dog that can climb/jump walls, a large backyard with extra fencing, and 3 very friendly cats (that stay upstairs for the most part). I've worked with rescue groups for 20 years with my family, and I foster for the Ventura County Animal Services shelter now. I've experienced it all, and I am fairly pro at medcations.

My son got married and of course the whole family went. But, I was at ease knowing my Maxie would be in great hands. Ive used Ashley before for longer periods of time. I know every time I do she cares for Max and sends me pics of him playing, sleeping, etc. Which I love by the way because I can see him enjoying himself and I dont feel as guilty.
We have had a handful of sleep overs through Rover, but I can say our dog had a GREAT time with Ashley and her family. They offer a lovely yard, plenty of attention and a rotation of friendly dogs. I HIGHLY recommend a stay with Ashley. I’m looking forward to another stay and just love that feeling after you drop your dog off knowing they are in good hands and will have lots of fun!
Ashley took amazing care of our Dash! He had tons of play time with the other dogs that stayed with her and her own. She kept us informed and up to date on how much fun Dash was having and sent us plenty of pictures of him while we were on vacation and we could see he was in great hands! We loved that he also had a big yard to play in and a nice house to feel comfortable in. Dash will be happy to stay here again!
Ashley was thorough and thoughtful. One of my cats is very elderly and I felt reassured that Ashley would know how to identify and notify me if anything went wrong, which I was grateful for. She took good care of all 3 of my cats and even did a few nice little things I didn’t ask her to.
Ashley is a wonderful pet sitter for our dog. She takes very good care of her and communicates with us every day our dog is with her. She truly loves the pets that she cares for
Ashley cared for our two dogs for an overnight stay and did an awesome job. She communicated well and sent photos of our pups having fun playing with the other dogs. We will definitely use her services again.

Schedule
I am a care provider, so I am often available with a flexible schedule. We are usually only away from home for appointments or other short errands.

Safety, trust & environment
My house is a pet friendly environment, meaning everything is washable, there are toys everywhere, and we are used to any type of behavior. Nothing will be a surprise. Dogs are allowed to tear up the toys to their heart's content, as there are SO many inside and out. We have a doggie door so the dogs can come in and out as they please, unless they need to be separated due to social differences. The cats stay upstairs for the most part. I adore kitties and will be great at respecting your cat's space, letting them come to me if they want, but offering a reassuring voice and presence. I foster baby kittens for the shelter, but we have also had cats of all ages, health, and temperment over 20+ years.

A typical day
I will play with your dogs and cats, and bring toys if needed. I enjoy figuring out your pet's type of play and going along with it, whether its tag, chase, hide and seek, or fetch. Even cats play fetch, but I have some tried and true toys they will enjoy to help them trust me.
