About: I’ve always had at least two dogs in the house, and have always loved caring for cats! I have plenty of experience taking care of horses and chickens, and I’m no stranger to taking care of many pets at one time, for example, 3 large dogs, 3 cats and 3 horses at the same time! I have a super open availability this summer, with more than enough time for late nights, early mornings, and overnight work! I have reliable transportation and a super free schedule to care for furry friends! I live in a condo with two elderly chihuahuas (almost 15 years old!) named Glory and Hero, as well as a super loving mutt rescue named Mysti! I love going for long walks with Mysti, and taking my chihuahuas for nice short walks as they get older. Making sure Mysti gets the proper exercise and attention is super important as she is a medium sized dog in a condo, as well as accommodating my older dogs as they age.

“Heather is absolutely great with cats. She did a great job taking care of Boris. I left for 5 days, and he wasn't at all stressed out when I got home. Heather is great at communication. I would definitely book her again.”
“My rescue dog struggles with trusting people and when I contacted Emily about it she was so nice and gentle about her approach to meeting Shae. Ever since the meet and greet she was patient and loving and my dog ended up warming up to her in just a couple of visits. It is really hard to find someone who is truly caring and understanding of fearful dogs. She was also very accommodating to our needs, Thank you, Emily!”

About: What sets me apart is my genuine passion for animals and personalized care for every pet. I have experience with puppy training, senior pet care, and administering medications. I focus on making pets feel safe, loved, and at home — whether it’s playtime, cuddles, or special attention for their unique needs I'm able to give pets plenty of attention, regular and multiple potty breaks, playtime, and cuddles throughout the day. Having a flexible schedule means your pet will never be left alone for long, and they'll always feel cared for and comfortable. In my home, pets are treated like part of the family! I provide a safe, comfortable environment with lots of love, playtime, and attention. I follow each pet’s routine closely, including feeding schedules, walks, and any special instructions.
About: I've had animals in my life since I was little. I connect well with them. Care is a top priority, detail oriented, focused and loving. My dog was a shelter pup and was fearful when I first got him. With love and attention, he's grown into a sweet, wonderful dog. His breed makes him nervous and sounds scare him but he's ready to be a lovebug at any time. I don't have reviews yet, but please give me a chance so I can! I work my own hours during the week PT-FT, depending on the dates. I'm off weekends. I can work with you. Hard worker. Detail oriented. Compassionate. I can follow directions based on your needs. I prefer to care for your pet in your home, where they feel safe. Trust / Safety are vital.
“David was great with our two dogs and their unique feeding needs. They loved his visits and barely noticed we were gone because he took great care of them. We really appreciated being able to do a meet and greet with him and the dogs prior to our trip so they were comfortable with him. We’ll definitely use David again!”

About: I grew up with dogs, and walking my neighbors’ dogs. I’ve taken care of various breeds, including during winter/thanksgiving breaks throughout my years in school. I want to make sure your pet feels loved ! I am currently solely sitting temporarily - will have lots of time to play and care for your pet! I am dedicating most of my time to sitting for now. I like to go on walks and chill with the dogs/cats :) I will use toys if you have them and fill any other recommendations you may have
“We booked Audrey last minute and she was absolutely amazing. She was super flexible with adding on services, incredibly communicative, and so attentive with both Vinny and Brody. She sent us tons of photos and even let us know when one of them had a little cough, then followed up later to make sure everything was okay. We felt completely at ease the whole time. Highly recommend and will definitely be using her again!”
“Perry has been an Amazing help to keep our puppy exercised while we have a crazy summer. He’s been very attentive to last minute requests and helping on long and short notice. Whether it’s a good brisk walk or just hanging out to let our puppy get out of his crate and use the bathroom, we can confidently leave home for extended hours and know our puppy is in good hand.”

About: After nearly 20 years of pet/house sitting, and as a dog mom myself, I know how important trust and security are. I'm thoughtful, caring, and understand the importance of feeding schedules, medication times, favorite toys, and getting to understand your pet’s unique personality! Your home and pet(s) will be safe and happy with me. I'm currently building a business after finishing my PhD, and bring the same discipline and follow-through to pet care that got me through a doctorate: reliable, organized, and easy to reach. I’m a lifelong cat lady who somehow became a devoted dog mom (I love my little weirdo!). In addition to extensive experience with dogs and cats, I've also cared for birds, fish, and small pets like hamsters, rats, and guinea pigs. I can provide glowing references upon request—many past clients are now like family. They just don’t have an account with this site to leave a review! I work from home, so I'm happy to relocate my home office to your place to be with your pet all day :) I have a flexible schedule so I'm able to take breaks on my terms for walks, etc. And I'm very productive with a kitty on my lap! I'm also happy to do extended stays--I've cared for homes and pets for weeks at a time while a family was traveling. When I am in someone else's home, I understand that helping you feel secure is paramount. I will work with you to make sure everything I need is set up so I can respect your privacy and keep your home clean! I'm also happy to gather mail, watering plants, and other basic home maintenance during overnight stays. Before you leave, we'll make a plan together so you can feel totally at ease leaving your home in my hands.
“This was our first experience with hiring a cat drop-in sitter. Ashley was dependable and personable, with tons of cat experience. We hit the jackpot! She kept us informed about our kitty children with texts and pictures. She went beyond the call of duty to help us out with an unexpected pest problem. It was great piece of mind knowing she was checking in on our felines.”

About: I’ve taken care of pets all my life! I grew up with 4 dogs and a cat, and as an adult have had my own rescue cat and done dog fostering. I love all animals and am a natural caregiver. Beyond my own personal experience with pets, I have pet sat and house sat for many clients and friends. I currently work part time and am studying beginning midwifery online, so I have plenty of time to give your pets and home some extra love! I would love to offer overnight pet sitting to keep your furry family members company while you’re away! I would love to offer live in support while you are out of town or need frequent check ins when busy. I love to be outside and take dogs on walks if needed and provide a safe and comfortable environment for them to feel calm while you are not present
“Brittany is amazing. I needed her to watch after my cats while I was getting married and she went above and beyond. She fed them treats for me, scooped their litter box and gave them a lot of love and company. I received a detailed summary of how they were doing and she sent me some of the cutest pictures of them! I had no worries or stress being away from my babies during my wedding. Thanks Brittany! :) 10/10”

About: Hi! I'm a dog-lover with a flexible schedule, so I can pop in for visits or take your pup(s) out for a good walk any time of day. My daughter and I have two dogs of our own (Luna and Sunny), so I know firsthand what it takes to keep a dog happy, active, and well cared for. This isn't a job to me, it's just what I love doing. Whether it's a quick potty break, a longer walk, or a check-in with some cuddles and playtime, I'll treat your dog like part of the pack. If you'd like, one of my own pups can occasionally tag along on walks too; happy to chat about what works best for your dog I recently moved back to Moorpark, so I have plenty of open availability for walks and drop-in visits. I'm an early riser for an early AM walk and I enjoy an evening stroll before it gets too late. I am very familiar with dog safety when it comes to making sure collars/harnesses are on and leashes are fully attached before opening any doors. I also take my time when passing other dogs on leashes (just in case).

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Moorpark
Ashley was thorough and thoughtful. One of my cats is very elderly and I felt reassured that Ashley would know how to identify and notify me if anything went wrong, which I was grateful for. She took good care of all 3 of my cats and even did a few nice little things I didn’t ask her to.

Katie was great! I was able to relax and enjoy my trip without stressing at all. The first few days I checked a lot with my ring camera and fussed over the check-in cards. It wasn’t long before I was not thinking about it at all I knew things were taken care of and if there was any issue Katie would reach out to me. I knew for sure when on the second morning I saw my dog wagging her tail and excited to go on her morning walk with basically a stranger. I will definitely be using her again.

Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Moorpark. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
