“Joslyn was absolutely wonderful! She house sat for us and took exceptional care of our dog and cat while we were away for 6 days. Our dog has severe allergies and even had a skin flare-up in the middle of the night, and Joslyn handled it so calmly and responsibly, communicating with us the entire time and making sure she was comfortable and cared for. She was very communicative throughout our trip, sent regular updates and videos, and kept the house tidy and well cared for. Both our dog and cat were clearly happy and comfortable with her; one of the videos she sent as she was leaving even showed them looking sad to see her go, which says everything. We felt completely at ease knowing our pets and home were in such good hands and would absolutely book her again.”

“How to review dog sitting if you couldn't witness it firsthand? Actually, this one isn't hard. Kimberly provided both frequent photos and a written updates about our pup, which went a long way towards reassuring us during our first time leaving our dog with a sitter. And... when we came home, we encountered a pup who was happy, relaxed and thoroughly *not* traumatized. In fact, she was even more okay than when we'd leave her alone for a few hours while we were out. This spoke volumes. Thank you, Kimberly, for doing an excellent job of taking care of our pup!”

“David was attentive to Crumb’s needs and took great care of him during the stay. He followed all the requests we had and sent us plenty of pics which we appreciated. He took great care of our dog and our home.”

“Monica stayed at our house for several nights and she was wonderful with our dog, Mack! We received several daily updates with photos and it was clear that she was keeping him well exercised and entertained. She communicated very quickly with any issues that came up and left the house in excellent condition. We felt very reassured that Mack was in such good hands. We look forward to using her again.”

“Elle was INCREDIBLE! Our other dog-sitter canceled days before we had a two-week international vacation scheduled so we scrambled to find an alternate and even considered canceling... But all of our anxieties vanished as soon as we found Elle. She's warm, reliable, communicative and magic with dogs. Our dog Cosmo is a neurotic akita/husky/chow/samoyed mix (so pretty much every obstinate breed) but not only did Elle handle him deftly, but went above and beyond to make him feel comfy, safe and loved. She sent us TONS of pictures and videos, followed his schedule to a T, gave him more walks and attention than my husband and I put together, and even trained him! We came back to a happy, well groomed and better behaved little fella. You can't possibly find a better dog-sitter than Elle, we were SO lucky to find her and I can't sing her praises loudly enough. Will be eager to hire her again for anything else!”

About: My name is Thanh, like wonton. I’m originally from Massachusetts and moved to the SF. I work remotely. Here’s my experiences so far. I’m currently a sanctuary volunteer at a dog rescue in Oakland. What this means is I feed them, clean their kennel, make sure there are no issue with the dog, and spend some time with them. I might take them out on a walk, play catch, or give them extra tummy rub during my shift. Think Kennel Attendant but without the pay. Lol. I occasionally will foster dogs out from the shelter that I volunteered at. When fostering, I train them on basic commands and get them potty train. Some foster pups will come to me with no basic command and leave with sit, stay, and come. They may know a little more party tricks like paw and play dead. I used the “yes” as my command word. This does mean that sometimes I will put a pause on Rover, but feel free to massage me to see if I’m available! When I’m not working from home or doing Rover or volunteering. I have occasionally dabble into photography ranging from travel, food, and pet photography. Along with experimenting with ingredients to make a homemade dog friendly treats. To give owners a sigh of relief, I have pet sitter, walker, and boarder insurance. This keeps us both safe. In short, I love animals and make sure they really get the best care under my watch. I work remote and is on East coast hours. My days are 6AM to 2PM. I’m typically free after 2PM to stop by and check on any pets that needs care. I live in an apartment in SF. My apartment is always loaded with dog treats, doggy trash bags, doggy bed, doggy toys and other supplies to make your dog comfortable. It’s their vacation away from home. Depending on the dog’s mood, we can decompress with a puzzle, a Kong, or just sit quietly with treats to help ease them to me or my home.
“Once again Dwayne took good care of my temperamental dog Jacques. He sent pictures and updates, stuck to our routine for walks, feeding, and medicine. I appreciate that he lets me know anything out of the ordinary, no matter how big or small. Thanks Dwayne!”

“We absolutely love Christine... and so do our fur-baby step-sisters! She went above and beyond for our girls! She sent us the cutest pictures and videos. We knew our girls were being well cared for, and were so happy. We have not always had good luck with Rover sitters, but Christine renewed our faith in Rover. Truly, she is our dog whisperer! We will most definitely be having her care for Lola & Muffy again... and again! We recommend Christine wholeheartedly... 100%!”

“Once again, Gisselle was amazing with our pups. Gisselle is excellent with our two 5 year old golden retriever’s. The dogs love her and she stays at our house and is so good with the dogs. We get great pictures and she keeps us up to date with questions (Finn was barking during the night, she reached out, I was able to tell her why he does this) all to say, you will be very happy to have Gisselle take care of your pets! We adore her and our dogs love her, if you want an excellent person to work with your fur babies work with Gisselle!”

“Nelson seemed to have a great time with Nicole! She was prompt, responsive, and left the house in great shape. So happy to have connected with her and looking forward to booking her in the future!”

“Lauren has been a godsend for us - she’s great with our puppy and looked after him so well while we went away for a night. A couple of days before the trip she came for a meet and greet to get to know him and us, so that really helped settle our nerves. Then when we were gone we were sent regular updates and photos and videos - Freddie had such a good time, thank you so so much!! 🩷”

About: I’m calm, reliable, and detail-oriented. Great with shy pets, seniors, and following routines. Your pet gets safe, loving care and you get clear updates every time. My schedule is very open right now. I’m available for walks mainly between 8am – 5pm, and I’m flexible for pet sitting, including mornings, evenings, and longer stays. In a client’s home, I keep everything calm, clean, and consistent. I follow your pet’s normal routines, feeding schedule, and any house rules exactly as you outline. I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in their familiar environment.
“I truly do not have enough good things to say about Viv. She went above and beyond what was asked in regard to care instructions. I could tell based on all the updates I received that she was 1. Incredibly Attentive 2. Really spending the majority of the time she was house sitting actively at the house or out with my girls 3. She took them for more long/engaging walks than I required or than I do, really giving them the activity that I wish I could every day. 4. She stayed in frequent questions and asked questions as necessary, letting me know anything I might want to be aware of, even minor stuff. The animals clearly loved her and I returned to happy, stress free girls, and an apartment cleaner than I left it. Will consider her my go to sitter as long as she is available!!”

“We booked Michael to house sit for us and watch our sick puppy Apollo on NYE. Michael was very proactive in his communication and soliciting any instructions we had for Apollo. He kept us updated throughout the night with pictures and other updates about Apollo. He took great care of him and helped him be less scared of the fireworks! I would HIGHLY recommend Michael and will rebook him whenever we need a sitter for Apollo!”

“Ashna and Dwayne did an excellent job looking after our dog. She had recently had surgery so needed some special care. While looking after her, they observed some issues, and quickly got in touch to figure out how to approach. They were proactive, and made sure the situation didn't get worse. They were very responsive, and great to work with. Our dog was well looked after, and our house well taken care of. We would book them again.”

“Justin was great with Bear and Meeko. Bear is a senior dog and needs medication administered several times a day. Justin updated us regularly on both Bear and Meeko, included photos, and overall was just a great person to be watching these two. We've already re-booked Justin to watch the boys for later this month!”

“Elin is awesome! Cared for our dog, cat and small house for the week did a fantastic job. Our boys were happy and well taken care of and our home was as well. Very comunicative and at no time did we feel worried about anything. Would definitely book again :)”

Noe Valley pet parents share their Rover experiences
Raeghan did a fantastic job pet sitting Nash! She kept us updated with great photos and made sure Nash got plenty of exercise by taking him to parks to burn off his energy. Even when the electricity went out for a while, Raeghan was a total trooper—finding creative ways to keep Nash (and herself!) entertained and active. I was completely at ease knowing Nash was in such capable hands.

We had a great experience with him as both a house and dog sitter. He was very responsive and communicative, followed all instructions carefully, and took excellent care of both our dogs and our home. He took the dogs on long walks, played with them regularly, and clearly formed a bond with them. Our younger dog even kept cuddling up on the bed where he slept for several days after we returned. We came home to happy, relaxed dogs, a clean house, and everything in great shape. I would absolutely recommend him and would book him again.

Viv was great. I booked a last minute birthday two night away trip, and wanted someone to come and feed and walk Mo and give him cuddles as it was a short time away. Viv was flexible with key hand off and helped organize it with a friend, so my work schedule was not impeded, and gave Mo long walks and attention during her time with him. He was quite anxious when I left the first night, which made it hard to leave. But Viv sent pictures and kept him out extra long the first night so he burned off some of the anxiety. I returned home Sunday afternoon to a relaxed dog who didn't even jump of sofa to greet me. Thanks, Viv!

I wish I could leave 10 stars! I feel so lucky to have found Julia. She is communicative, kind, flexible, and so good with our 8 month old puppy. I don’t trust many people to stay at our home, but Julia left everything spotless & cared for & most importantly, our dog was SO well taken care of. She updated me daily with pictures and really made it feel like our dog was her own. I can’t say enough good things about Julia. She is absolutely wonderful.

Irina took wonderful care of my dog, Lola, and our apartment while we were on an international vacation for the holidays. My dog has pretty severe anxiety, so I was nervous about how she would fare with us away for a couple weeks, but Irina did a great job taking care of her. Irina was very communicative and sent photos and updates every day, which I really appreciated and I could see that Lola was getting all her daily walks and plenty of play and cuddle time. My dog requires daily eye medication to manage a chronic eye condition, and Irina administered all her medicines and followed my directions exactly. My dog was happy and at ease when I got home, which tells me a lot since she can be an anxious girl. Irina also left the apartment sparkling clean which was really nice to come back to after a long journey home. I would recommend Irina for all your pet sitting needs-- you can see she really loves animals.

Iris was absolutely wonderful! She had a great connection with our cat. She took the time to learn about our cat and make sure she could make her as happy/comfortable as possible. Iris was also a great communicator. We got a ton of fun pictures and updates of their time together. I would recommend Iris to anyone!

Ashna & Dwayne did a phenomenal job watching our dog at our house. As soon as Ashna and Dwayne arrived for the stay, our dog was at ease and having fun. They also made sure to give plenty of walks, keeping up with our dogs step count requirement. Finally, they left our place even more spotless than when they had arrived. We will definitely look to book Ashna and Dwayne again!
