About: I'm a huge cat lover and have taken care of family cats for most of my life. In college, my partner and I adopted a cat of our own, Ophelia, who I pamper and play with every day. I'm passionate about going above and beyond to accommodate all of you and your cat's needs and preferences to ensure I'm providing high-quality, personalized care. Having grown up around cats and being passionate about continuous learning on how to best care for them, I'm very knowledgeable about cat body language cues and behavior. With this knowledge, I'm able to understand and resolve behavioral issues accordingly, whether that means simply giving a cat some space, understanding that they would probably like to play rather than be petted (or via versa), or figuring out why they seem to be avoiding their litter box and doing my best to fix the issue. In addition to my general experience, I also have experience with and am passionate about taking care of cats with special needs. I'm able to administer medication and carefully monitor cats to ensure that they stay healthy and happy. When I was walking home from class in my senior year of college, I found an injured cat on the side of the road and immediately took her to the emergency vet. The vet told me she had a broken pelvis, but that she would likely be able to heal without surgery if given the proper care. She was not able to walk, so I took care of her, cleaning her every day and administering her pain medication every eight hours for a week until I was luckily able to reunite her with her family! I learned that her name was Tessie and that she was a Maine Coon. Tessie's family kept me updated on her healing and I was so happy to hear that she was able to make a full recovery from her injury and walk again. I'm so proud of the part I played in Tessie's healing and want to treat your kitty with the same love and care! I'm a recent college graduate working a remote job and an in-person part-time job a few days a week in addition to cat-sitting. Because of my flexible schedule, I can ensure that I will always be able to make time in my schedule to care for, play with, and pamper your kitty. I will closely follow all instructions regarding feeding your cat, giving your cat care and attention, brushing your cat, playing with your cat with whatever toys he/she prefers, scooping the litter box on a daily basis, and cleaning up the feeding area and litter box area to make sure you come home to a clean house. I take plenty of pictures each day to give you peace of mind that your cat is in good hands. I'm also happy to do other small tasks around the house such as bringing in packages and watering plants.
“Leslie did a great job sitting Nash! By the pictures she sent you could tell he was having a great time at the park. Thanks for watching my baby over the holiday!”

“Satine was an excellent cat and house sitter. I could tell Pepper was comfortable and well cared for by the pictures and updates Satine sent. She also left the house cleaner than she found it, which we really appreciated.”

“Marion was very responsive, sent updates of my dog while we were gone, and was respectful of our home! I definitely felt comfortable my dog was in good hands which helps when you’re away from home❤️”

“Muhammad is a phenomenal dog sitter who earned our complete trust. He was amazing with our two Dobermans, remained highly responsive, and provided constant photo and video updates. When one of our dogs became sick, he handled the situation with total professionalism and compassion—even going above and beyond by cleaning up after our dog’s diarrhea. We are incredibly grateful for his care and will absolutely book him again!”

“Brennan quickly learned to manage Axel’s dog reactivity on walks, and carefully followed all of our instructions for his care. We came home to a happy dog and a clean home. Thank you Brennan!”

“I highly recommend Christine! Do not hesitate to book her. You won't be sorry! She watched our two-year old Golden Retriever while we were out of town for a weekend. She sent multiple text and photo updates which made me feel so much better about leaving Oakley. I knew he was in good hands when I saw all of the walks, adventures and cuddles happening. I'm sure Oakley wishes we would go out of town more often so he could spend more time with her. He definitely received a lot of love that weekend, which is all we really want for our pets, right? I will definitely be a repeat client.”

“As usual, Julia took such great care of my dog. She’s always punctual, communicative, and her love for animals is very evident. We’re always so grateful when she’s available to hang with our dog June :)”

“Linda was a great sitter for my affection starved cat. She made sure he was fed twice a day, and had given him plenty of human time. She sent photos as well. I highly recommend Linda for caring after your pets. Very happy indeed.”

“Brooke was a great caretaker of our dog Reilly! She stayed at our home with him, was very attentive and kind, and took him out on some great outings. She also did some training with him which we asked for and appreciated. Highly recommended!”

“So glad that we found Loretta! She is professional, responsible, reliable and has a clear passion for caring for animals. Thanks to Loretta, we were able to relax and truly "unplug" on our vacation. Highly recommend!”

“Shai is the BEST!! Truly the best Rover we have ever had. My dog takes awhile to warm up to people generally but loved her the moment he saw her and CRIES when she leaves the house (which he doesn’t even do for us!!). We are so grateful we found her!”

“Clive is the best! He takes care of our dog like his own, we know our dog is well loved, lots of walks, play time, and cuddles. It’s truly the best gift of peace of mind to leave your dog with someone you know you can trust, and for us that is Clive!”

“Seng is amazing. Ruby took to her immediately. Seng took great care of her, took her on long walks by the ocean, and gave us plenty of great photos. Honestly, I think Ruby will now be looking forward to when we go on vacation. Highly recommended.”

“I have been out of town recently, and Kimberly has been my go-to Rover to watch my 15 year old Labrador Paws. Kimberly is very communicative and sends tons of pictures and updates. It warms my heart and puts me at ease when I need to be away from home.”
“We had a great experience with him as both a house and dog sitter. He was very responsive and communicative, followed all instructions carefully, and took excellent care of both our dogs and our home. He took the dogs on long walks, played with them regularly, and clearly formed a bond with them. Our younger dog even kept cuddling up on the bed where he slept for several days after we returned. We came home to happy, relaxed dogs, a clean house, and everything in great shape. I would absolutely recommend him and would book him again.”

About: I am a responsible, dependable animal lover who has cared for dogs, cats, birds, fish, and rabbits in the past. I can provide any support needed, including walking and hiking, feeding, play time, grooming, bathroom clean-up, and providing medication, if needed. I have worked as a dog walker and sitter for a company in Marin County, volunteered for two years at Wildcare, and currently volunteer and foster with NorSled Husky Rescue. I'm a part-time adjunct professor at SJSU in Environmental Studies and am only on campus on Tuesdays. My schedule is flexible the rest of the week. As a previous dog, cat, and small animal owner, I am comfortable caring for your animal using whatever instructions you provide. Setting up a time to meet beforehand to go over the details and so that you and your pet can get to know me is important, too.
“Mystyc was great with Jax! She was so friendly and they seemed to get along right away. She made me feel at ease with her experience with senior dogs and the care Jax needed. She sent me photos throughout the day and kept me up to date with everything.”

Excelsior pet parents share their Rover experiences
She saved my whole trip by accepting my last-minute request because somebody else from Rover canceled two hours before my vacation. She’s watched my dogs before but not overnight and it went so well. She bathed them, took them to the park, and walks. Had all kinds of recommendations to help with my dogs, anxiety, and quick eating habits ,suggestions about my Kong. She’s just the best and you would be really lucky to have her watch your pets!

Elin was a wonderful sitter to our dog and cat. They provided regular, adorable, and detailed updates on our bebes while we were away. Our cat takes a daily medication that Elin was comfortable administering even though it can be challenging. They took our dog on walks and quickly picked up on her favorite activity of sunbathing and happily indulged her. Our cat clearly also appreciated Elin’s company, providing lots of affection. We’d love to have them take care of our creatures anytime.

Alex was an incredible sitter and absolutely deserves 5 out of 5 stars. She took care of my dog for almost a week while I was out of the country, and I felt completely at ease knowing she was in such good hands. She was responsible, caring, communicative, and attentive throughout the stay. It gave me real peace of mind to know my dog was safe, comfortable, and well cared for while I was away. I would highly recommend Alex to anyone looking for a trustworthy and excellent dog sitter.

Heather was fantastic with our elderly dog, Roger. She took great care of him for several days at our house, and we arrived back to a happy dog and a tidy house. She was very responsive and sent updates and pics every day. We're looking forward to having her take care of Roger again!

Josh did a great job taking care of our pets on our week long vacation! He stayed at our house with our dog and cat and both were very happy and healthy when we got home. The house was also taken care of very well which was a blessing to return to after a long flight home. Huge thanks to Josh and we will be sure to rebook him again next time we go on a trip!
Donna was very responsive and flexible! She sent great photos of Russell every day, had regular checkins, and was very communicative and understanding. She left the house in great shape, and our cat was comfortable and confident when we came home, so I know he’d give 5 stars too!

Christine is truly the dog whisperer. From the moment we met her, we knew she was the perfect person to care for our baby while we were away. She stayed in our home and treated it — and Penny — with so much respect and love. Throughout the entire stay, she was incredibly communicative and responsive, sending daily updates, photos, and videos. Penny had an amazing time and was clearly so comfortable with her. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and can't wait to book her again.
