About: I live with an active Siberian Husky, so I’m very familiar with dogs who need more than a short loop around the block. I’m comfortable with strong walkers, high-energy dogs, and dogs who benefit from structure and consistency. I also grew up with a Cocker Spaniel and Springer Spaniel so my experience truly spans the gamut. I build my days around dogs and walking. I’m out with my own dog every day and keep a flexible schedule, which gives me plenty of room for weekday walks. I intentionally keep my service area close to home so I can be dependable, unhurried, and consistent with the dogs I care for. Recurring weekday walks are especially welcome. I treat every dog and home with the same care I’d want for my own. I follow your routines closely, double-check doors, gates, leashes and harnesses before heading out, and never leave a dog unattended outside. I take time to learn each dog’s temperament, triggers and walking habits, and I’m thoughtful about interactions with other dogs and people. In your home, I respect your space, follow your instructions carefully, and keep communication clear, including photos and an update after every walk.

About: Hi! I’m Alex! I’m 24 and a weekly volunteer at Muttville, a senior dog shelter in Mission Creek. I’m on the adoptions team, but when I’m not meeting with prospective adopters, I help take care of around 30 senior dogs between our main floor and quiet rooms :) I have experience with dogs of all breeds, sizes and ability. I’m comfortable medicating dogs orally, topically or ophthalmically (eye drops). I’m also comfortable administering special diets (wet/dry/natural) and regular walks. I’ve taken care of dogs with special needs like anxiety, cancer, Alzheimer’s, blindness, deafness and amputations, so if your dog needs additional care, I’m there! I grew up with a chihuahua and currently have a hamster :) I work remotely in data analytics for a nonprofit foundation based in Palo Alto, so I’m always looking for creative spaces to work from. Let me work from (your) home :) I take time to understand the routine that the dog is used to, meaning walks, feeding schedules and playtime. Because I work with senior dogs who often have special needs, I’m very mindful of diets, medications and maintaining a comfortable, safe and consistent environment. I absolutely do not believe in harsh discipline or tie-outs and am not comfortable if asked to administer this.

“Clive was AMAZING with our dog. Fuzzy is a fussy, needy mini poodle who hasn’t been left behind often, and on those occasions with someone he already knew. So this was a big first for Fuzzy and for us, and Clive made it flawless! He was patient and understanding with changes in plans, he made significant effort to get to know Fuzzy before we left, and he had a very instinctual, natural rapport with him from the start. Clive stayed with Fuzzy in our home, and from all the photos Clive sent us we could see that Fuzzy was not only comfortable, but having a wonderful time! It is such a relief for us to find such a caring, reliable and trustworthy sitter for the “baby” in our family. He is now called Uncle Clive in our home, and we look forward to having him take care of Fuzzy again in the future.”
