“Satine took great care of our dog in our home while we were away. Our dog doesn't love to walk in the rain, but Satine did a great job of taking her for walks and ensuring she got exercise and mental stimulation. I appreciate her being dedicated enough to take her for walks in inclement weather. Satine also did a great job keeping our dog company. We could tell our dog was well cared for when we returned home.”

“Kimberly treated Prin like royalty. She was very attentive and regularly communicated with me about how she was doing. I highly recommend Kimberly for all dogs but especially those with medical issues. The house was left spotless.”

“Joytika stayed with my senior cat Taylor and did a great job of attending to her special needs, socializing with her, and looking after her and my apartment over two weeks during the holiday months. When I returned the apartment was just as I had left it, and Taylor was clearly happy with having a new friend and sitter while I was away. Would recommend booking Joytika!”

“Nicole did an excellent job looking after Bella and our home while we were on vacation. She’s super responsive and fast to answer texts and very straightforward to communicate with. We came back to a very clean home including laundered bed linens and a happy and relaxed dog. We couldn’t ask for more and we would work with Nicole again in a heartbeat! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Nicole to anyone considering engaging her for a sit. Thank you so much Nicole. A+++++”

“Sammy was a wonderful cat sitter for our 2 cats. We got lots of pictures every day, and it was obvious they were well taken care of in our absence. They got to play and be brushed each day, and one of our cats requires medicine twice daily, which Sammy always communicated that she had administered. We felt very reassured and relaxed knowing Sammy was with them and will definitely hire her again.”

“Jess was so wonderful! Jess was sweet, communicative, professional, and followed the instructions we left for our pup really well. Would definitely recommend booking with Jess and we’re excited for her to watch our pup again :)”

“Elin was very easy to work with and very responsive! She came over to meet Morgan and review his needs beforehand and it was clear that Morgan was a big fan from the beginning. I would definitely trust her to take care of our puppy anytime!”

“Laura did a great job with Jax, keeping him company and following all my instructions. She even took him out for a walk which I’m sure he loved. She kept me updated with photos and videos throughout the day which helped make sure I didn’t worry.”

“Shay spent 2 days and a night with our large akita and they got along very well! She remembered everything we told her and was conscientious to make sure Kaylee was well taken care of!”

About: I grew up with cats, dogs, hamsters and even a gecko (until my mom made me give him away). Nothing makes me happier than taking a dog for a walk, tossing a tennis ball on a sunny day in San Francisco, or lounging with my cat. A big reason I joined Rover is to have fun hanging out with your pet, but my top priority will always be their care and making sure all their needs are met. Growing up my entire life around pets was one of the things I’m absolutely most grateful for in life. I had a cat named Treats and a Puggle named Frankie throughout my upbringing—both were perfect to me. I’m the type to stop and pet a dog on the street or happily volunteer to watch a friend’s pets. Most recently, I cared for a friend’s wonderful pink-nosed Pitbull, and I’m confident handling both small and large dogs. I currently own a cat and also look after my roommate’s cat while they travel. Beyond feeding and cleaning the litter daily, my cat Noodles is full of energy, so I’m always playing with him around the house to tire him out. I actually rescued Noodles as a kitten off the street while I was living in China, and he’s been with me ever since! I work full-time, but only 2-3 days a week in the office (near The Mint building). The days I go into the office, are pretty flexible—as is when I get into the office and leave. With my pretty flexible schedule. As long as the location of your home is somewhat convenient from my home, commute, or office—I’m more than happy to work around what’s best for you and your pet. More spontaneous gigs are more than welcome as well! Tuesday-Thursday from about 8am to 5:30pm (flexible) are my typically office days/hours. I’m a very early riser, so on these days I may be available in the mornings before I head to the office. And of course after I leave work I am available. Mondays & Fridays I always work at home in Lower Haight area. I would be available before and after work on these days. I can also take about a 45min to 1 hour break during the day to play or go for walks. Weekends, unless I have already indicated I have plans or I’m out of town, they are typically quite free! I definitely can travel a bit farther around the city on weekends. Feel free to ask me what’s possible on my end. Growing up with multiple pets, I was taught from a young age how important it is to take great care of them. I’m a firm believer that if you’re going to bring an animal into your home, you need to meet all of their needs and commit to them like they are part of your family. Beyond the basics with my cats currently at home, I take Noodles for a yearly check with the vet, as well as groom him about once a month. I’ve done pretty extensive research on different cat foods, litters, ways to keep him entertained, etc. — all in the hopes he lives and long a happy life with me. A few house-mates with dogs often times bring them over to our place because they know we all love them. As much as they allow me, I’ll sneak off with their dogs for a walk or some play time in the Panhandle.
“Lauren has been a godsend for us - she’s great with our puppy and looked after him so well while we went away for a night. A couple of days before the trip she came for a meet and greet to get to know him and us, so that really helped settle our nerves. Then when we were gone we were sent regular updates and photos and videos - Freddie had such a good time, thank you so so much!! 🩷”

“Selena watched Joni for us for a week over a busy holiday weekend. Selena provided us so many updates while we were away which helped us feel ultra relaxed on our vacation! Joni gets extra sad when we are gone but having an extra sweet pal, Nimbus, while Selena was house sitting gave Joni that extra happiness she needed. When we arrived home, our house was spotless and she even washed our sheets for us which was an added bonus after a long travel day. I would 100% be happy to have Selena watch Joni again our next trip- thank you again so much Selena (&Nimbus 🙂)!!!”

“Timothy was excellent with our high-maintenance, reactive border collie & our two cats. They followed instructions & the animals all seemed relaxed & happy upon our return. Highly recommend!”

“Bri and Raj are excellent! Very friendly and accommodating to our two doggies’ needs, who can easily be a handful (one is young and full of energy and the other is older and not always dog-friendly) but were a breeze for Bri and Raj. Will definitely be booking with them again and would highly recommend them to others!”

“We couldn't be happier with the care and attention that Sergio provides for our Dexter. We have every confidence when we travel that all is well at home.”

“Gillian was extremely communicative and sent updates about the dogs regularly. She was very responsive when I had questions. She took very good care of the dogs and seemed really interested in learning their routines and habits.”

“Peyton was amazing with my pets while we were out of town for the holidays! When we got home the house was so clean and the pets were so happy, I could tell they had been loved. She communicated well and sent pics everyday. I never worried for stressed while on vacation! Would absolutely book with Peyton again”

About: I'm a huge cat lover and have taken care of family cats for most of my life. In college, my partner and I adopted a cat of our own, Ophelia, who I pamper and play with every day. I'm passionate about going above and beyond to accommodate all of you and your cat's needs and preferences to ensure I'm providing high-quality, personalized care. Having grown up around cats and being passionate about continuous learning on how to best care for them, I'm very knowledgeable about cat body language cues and behavior. With this knowledge, I'm able to understand and resolve behavioral issues accordingly, whether that means simply giving a cat some space, understanding that they would probably like to play rather than be petted (or via versa), or figuring out why they seem to be avoiding their litter box and doing my best to fix the issue. In addition to my general experience, I also have experience with and am passionate about taking care of cats with special needs. I'm able to administer medication and carefully monitor cats to ensure that they stay healthy and happy. When I was walking home from class in my senior year of college, I found an injured cat on the side of the road and immediately took her to the emergency vet. The vet told me she had a broken pelvis, but that she would likely be able to heal without surgery if given the proper care. She was not able to walk, so I took care of her, cleaning her every day and administering her pain medication every eight hours for a week until I was luckily able to reunite her with her family! I learned that her name was Tessie and that she was a Maine Coon. Tessie's family kept me updated on her healing and I was so happy to hear that she was able to make a full recovery from her injury and walk again. I'm so proud of the part I played in Tessie's healing and want to treat your kitty with the same love and care! I'm a recent college graduate working a remote job and an in-person part-time job a few days a week in addition to cat-sitting. Because of my flexible schedule, I can ensure that I will always be able to make time in my schedule to care for, play with, and pamper your kitty. I will closely follow all instructions regarding feeding your cat, giving your cat care and attention, brushing your cat, playing with your cat with whatever toys he/she prefers, scooping the litter box on a daily basis, and cleaning up the feeding area and litter box area to make sure you come home to a clean house. I take plenty of pictures each day to give you peace of mind that your cat is in good hands. I'm also happy to do other small tasks around the house such as bringing in packages and watering plants.
Castro-Upper Market pet parents share their Rover experiences
We had a great experience with Tracy! She stepped in last minute and was reliable, flexible, and communicated clearly throughout, which gave us real peace of mind. She also took wonderful care of our pets, and it truly showed. We’ll definitely be using her again.

Shanna took care of our English lab, Hank, while we were out of the country for 10 days. We felt great knowing he was in good hands, and he seemed his normal, happy self when we returned home. Shanna sent pics and videos regularly and was an awesome communicator. She also took great care of our apartment. There’s a reason for all of these 5 star reviews!!! Thank you, Shanna!!!

Wow! Absolutely blown away my William’s diligence in sending content of how our pups were doing whilst we were away as well as caring for them exactly as how I would have wanted. One of our dogs requires SQ fluid administration and a few medications and he was awesome about getting them to her and keeping her comfortable! He also broke through and was able to care for our very standoffish Shiba. Our dogs looked so happy and bright by the time we got home from our jam packed weekend. William was also a very helpful house sitter and even washed and cleaned the dog food containers we had for their meal prep! Would definitely go with Will for all my pet’s sitting needs.

Zulma house sat and cared for my dog for a full week. Her calm and grounded presence were just right for my dog. She was responsive, reliable, and an excellent communicator from beginning to end. I will definitely reach out to her again and highly recommend her for house-sitting and any kind of pet care.

Nicole was the perfect sitter for my anxious dog. She took him out for long walks, kept him comfortable when he was anxious and played games with him to distract him from his separation anxiety. She was punctual, responsive, friendly and sent photos. I highly recommend her.

Jessica is wonderful! I can’t say enough good things about her. First of all my very shy 2 kittens warmed up to her immediately which told me a lot! Additionally I could tell by the photos and videos that she sent, the kitten behavior, her communication, and the tidy home I came back too that she took care of both the kittens and my home as if they were her’s. Malamalama, Sunny and I look forward to having Jessica back anytime. She was helpful, communicative, kind, caring…everything we hoped for in a sitter. 🐾❤️ - Malamalama, Sunny and June

Moana hadn't seen Sarah in a while and experienced some new triggers, but Sarah handled it all masterfully and reached out for support from us when she needed it. Really appreciate how thorough and attentive she is to our special needs baby, Moana. Thank you, Sarah!

Tasherit was phenomenal, our usual sitter had something come up last minute and she stepped in to save the day. She was incredibly responsive, asked all the right questions prior to the stay and our two dogs and cat were well loved and taken care of all week. Additionally when we had potential flight complications coming home she offered to stay another night and ensure the zoo was looked after. The house was sparkling clean when we got home, we will be booking again!

Diana was an amazing Catsitter for my two fur babies, including getting them to take their meds. My shy girl cat seemed very comfortable with her, which was so reassuring. and she even graciously helped me with a small errand while I was out of town. Highly recommend her!
