“Kara and Val were a godsend when we needed a last minute sitter for our pup. Kara was prompt and responsive in setting up a meet & greet where she got to talk with us and get to know Petunia a little bit. We were nervous as it was our first time leaving her, but she warmed up to Kara, Val and their adorable daughter Mae quite quickly! Kara was great about sending updates and photos and made us feel secure, at ease and able to enjoy our time away. Cannot recommend them enough 🐶😁”

We really appreciated a chance to get to meet him and his pups beforehand while also seeing his living space. We felt our pupper would be be in good hands through the week he stayed with Cesar. During the time away we got plenty of adorable pictures and updates on how he was coping. From our perspective he seemed to be having a great time! Definitely recommend Cesar for your boarding needs”

Highly recommend!”

“Henri had a great weekend at Paulina’s! She came out to greet us and then took the leash and introduced Henri to her home-he was so comfortable with her from the start. Our dog has hardly been away from us in his 7 years and I was a little nervous about leaving him with someone new, but I soon realized I had nothing to worry about. Paulina is a very relaxed person and sent updates and adorable photos each day. It made me happy to see him look so at home with her. Don’t let her lack of a backyard discourage you-Henri was happy and tired when we picked him up. We will call on her whenever we need a dog sitter for when we visit our daughter in SF. Paulina was an absolute lifesaver and we are so happy to have found her!”

“Marie is amazing. This was a last-minute booking on my part and she had never met my dog before. She won him over quickly, has a lot of experience with dogs, and even took initiative to give Willy Wonka a small haircut around his eyes because I haven't had time to maintain him. He was in very good hands with her and her communication was stellar!”

She happily arranged an initial meet-and-greet in a public place, followed by another visit so Penny could get comfortable with her apartment before the stay, which I really appreciated. During Penny's stay, Annabel sent regular photo updates and messages, giving us peace of mind that she was happy and well cared for. She was reliable, communicative, and clearly cared about making Penny feel at home. I wouldn't hesitate to book with Annabel again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and dependable sitter.”

Renee and Chris are highly recommended and I will ask their availability when we need our dog sitter next time for sure.”

She calmed my nerves of leaving my dog to a sitter. Kai enjoy his stay at her place and had a blast playing with Rina. Victoria sent periodical photos and videos to me to give me status update. She also respected my boundary not to reach me at a certain time because I was running a half marathon during those hours. I’m really happy that Kai bonded well with Victoria and Rina. I would certainly contact them again when I need a dog sitter. Kai spent two nights with them and had no issues. Just lots of fun playful moments for Kai. Thank you Victoria!”

Can't recommend her enough!”

About: Hi! I'm a proud cat mom to my 3-year-old cat, Pepper, and I know that every cat has their own unique personality. Whether your kitty is playful, shy, curious, or happiest napping in a sunny window, I'm happy to care for them at their own pace. I'm comfortable administering medications, including pills and other routine medications, and I understand the importance of following your cat's care instructions carefully. I know that patience and a gentle approach can make all the difference. Cats thrive on routine, patience, and a calm environment. I'll make sure your cat feels safe and comfortable while you're away by keeping to their normal schedule, maintaining a clean space, and giving them as much attention—or as much personal space—as they prefer. My goal is to help both you and your cat feel at ease. I'm proud to provide an LGBTQIA+ friendly, inclusive, and judgment-free experience where every pet parent is welcome. I can't wait to meet your feline family member—and if they decide I'm worthy of a head bump or a lap nap, I'll consider it an honor!
“Anna did a fantastic job checking in on my two cats while I was away and I plan to rebook her next time I'm gone! My cats are incredibly shy and usually don't come out for strangers, even when enticed with their food, treats, or toys. I warned her they'd likely stay hidden under the bed the whole time she was there, which is why we were so surprised to receive videos and photos of both of them warming up to her: allowing her to pet them, playing with their toys, and even rolling onto their backs for belly rubs! We were amazed - Anna truly is a cat whisperer. It gave us such peace of mind to know they were in such good hands, and we so appreciate her patience and persistence with them. Thanks, Anna!”

“Kristina did an awesome job taking care of our cat over the holidays! She was very attentive to our cuddly cat and gave us great daily updates about him. I wouldn't hesitate to book again.”

“I cannot praise David enough. Excellent communication, has cared for my kitties multiple times each time with it unique challenge. I am grateful for his care and support.”

“Natalie was great!! I booked her just a couple days before a last-minute trip, so I was a little on edge. But she was 100% reliable, wonderful, and warm. My cat warmed up to her immediately. Will def book Natalie again in the future!”

“Hannah did a great job taking care of our cat! Easy to coordinate with and attentive to his feeding/play rituals. He was in great spirits when we came home. Would recommend!”

“Lauren was absolutely great! Our cat loved Lauren and we could go on our trip knowing she was in good hands. Would absolutely recommend and use Lauren again!”

About: Hello! My name is Milla and I love cats from the bottom of my heart. I’ve had cats for my entire life. I have cared for, played with, and loved cats ever since I was a baby. I love cats because they are such complex creatures that have so many different personalities. I love simply being around cats and playing with them. I have two cats named Huey and Gary. I understand how important it is to have a cat sitter while you travel because Huey needs to be given medicine when we are away, and I tend to worry about him while on vacation. I will treat your cat(s) as if they are my own while you are gone. I have lived in San Francisco my entire life. I am currently a fourth-year San Francisco State University Cinema alum. When I was young, I used to play with the neighborhood cat, Paw, in my backyard. We would lounge in the sun together, then I would go inside my house to play with my cats, Salty and Rocky. I have a long history with cats. Currently, I help take care of my family's three cats and dog. I am available all day Monday-Thursday, and in the afternoons and evenings Friday-Sunday. During my time with your fur-baby, I will: - feed them - give them water - clean the litter box - give them medicine if applicable - give them lots of snuggles, pets, and playtime! - give you daily updates on how they are doing (with lots of photos and videos!) Special qualifications: - topical ointments - oral medication - senior cats - kittens I serve the 94114 area, including: Castro, Noe Valley, Eureka Valley, Corona Heights, Mission, Dolores Heights, Eureka Heights, and any other neighborhood on my service map. (I only accept twice-a-day reservations for locations within a 0.5 mile radius.) I look forward to being your friendly neighborhood cat sitter!
“Taylor was fantastic. She did drop one for my dog 2 days in a row. She even came over to meet him ahead of time bc i was a little nervous (he had recently had surgery and was still in come/recovery suit). Would highly recommend and rebook.”

“Caren is such a great cat sitter - I can’t speak highly enough! Her updates are great and my kitty always looked so happy to see her in the photos. She even taught my cat a new favorite game that she’s been eager to play since I’ve been back.”

“Cesar was such a great host. He had a small gang of tiny dogs for my dog Bentley to play with and a nice deck for him to sun himself. I think the fact that Cesar has a 19 year old dog of his own is testament enough that he is obviously excellent at taking care of animals. Thank you Cesar and we look forward to seeing you in the future :)”

“Remo was amazing with my dog, Chewie. He was flexible with my drop off and pick up times while I was in San Francisco for a conference. He was kind and really funny each time I saw him.”

“Not our first time leaving KiKi with Kira. Our dog can be feisty, but Kira has a calming effect on her. She’s also very responsive communicating with us. All this helps us relax in knowing KiKi is in good hands.”

“My dog is extremely picky and will let me know she isn't happy by misbehaving. But after a day of care at David's, Penny was not unhappy, which is great. Penny was comfortable at David's place and liked his roommate. It's rare for Penny to like humans. David made sure the other dogs with him are compatible with Penny, another difficult thing. Penny napped most of the time, because that is what she does when she's not working, following someone for food, or playing fetch.”

“Ivy was super communicative and took so many pictures for us! It looked like our little dog got along great with Ivy and her daughter. I would definitely recommend Ivy!”

“Jenny and her boyfriend were amazing! Super flexible with drop off and pick up timing and most importantly, really great sitters -- Quinoa came back happy and tired!”

“Such great guys! Left our dog with them for two work days while construction was happening at our house. Will definitely be coming back to them again!”

“Duskie enjoyed his stay with Emily and her furry sidekick Addie. Emily has lots of experience with senior pups including foster dogs. Duskie seemed comfortable and adjusted pretty well taking naps and relaxing on his first visit. We’ll plan to book Emily again soon!”

“Thank you Celia for another day of caring for my baby Georgie! He had such a blast with you, I was so relaxed all day knowing he was having a great time. Lots of updates and spoiling like he was your own!”

“Bruce is super responsive and a great caregiver for the pups! He sent pictures and videos all day which made me feel confident and comfortable leaving our dog. We would definitely use his service again!”

“My dog had so much fun and was well taken care of. Also was willing to adjust to my dog’s dietary needs and had clear communication with me. Would recommend 10/10 for anyone looking for a sitter! :)”

About: My senior dog of 13 years passed away in June 2021, so I am looking for some new dog friends to play with, care for, and cuddle! I love to hike and play at the beach if your dog needs exercise and adventure. I go to Crissy Field most mornings, and I would be happy to bring your dog along. I only use positive reinforcement. I have 25 years of experience caring for dogs of all sizes and ages. I board dogs 50lbs and under. I work full-time M-F, mostly from home. My weekends are open and available hours are flexible. I walk daily, and would love to have your dog come along. Your dog will have full access to my apartment and a shared, fenced yard (my neighbor’s dog is sometimes in the yard too.) I am happy to crate your dog if they feel more comfortable with that, but I do not require a crate unless your dog has separation anxiety and/or chews things. Dogs are allowed on the bed in my home

“Butters had a fun day while I got to take from fostering him a bit! Betty was great with sending periodic updates for me and she was really helpful with advice on puppy training. I would definitely book her again!”

About: I've grown up around animals my entire life and have experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and personalities. Back home, my family has two cats, a Golden Retriever, and a Pit Bull mix, so I'm comfortable with both energetic and laid-back pets. I'm especially familiar with puppy care, including potty training, basic routines, positive reinforcement, and redirecting unwanted behaviors with patience and consistency. I also have experience around senior dogs, administering medication, moving slow, giving space when needed, and just being a companion. I work part-time and am self-employed, which gives me a very flexible schedule to accommodate your pet's needs. I'm typically available Monday through Friday, as well as most holidays, and I'm happy to work with your schedule whenever possible. My goal is to provide dependable, attentive care so you can have peace of mind knowing your furry family members are in good hands. I understand that every pet has unique needs, and I always strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. Whether it's going for walks, playtime, sticking to feeding schedules, or simply providing companionship, I'll treat your pets like they're my own.
About: I grew up with a dog and was surrounded by dogs my whole childhood. In college, I missed having a canine presence in my life and began dog walking and volunteering at a local shelter. I’m once again craving some dogs in my life to show some love to! I work Monday thru Friday 9-5, but my work location can be flexible. I’m also often available Saturday mornings, and would love to add your pup to my weekly routine if scheduling works out! When in your home, I’ll be sure to keep the dog in their routine and show them as much love as possible while you’re away.
“Kelvin takes great care of my pup and she comes home exhausted! He has a great setup and I feel comfortable leaving my puppy with him for the day, knowing she’ll be well looked after. Thank you Kelvin!”

About: What sets me apart is the care and attention I give to every pet. I'm dependable, detail-oriented, and understand how important it is to follow each pet's routine so they feel comfortable while you're away. I've cared for pets belonging to neighbors, friends, and colleagues, and I'm comfortable with dogs of different sizes and energy levels. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, or simply having someone nearby for company, I'm happy to adapt to their needs. I'm also comfortable administering oral medications, reinforcing basic training routines, and providing extra patience and attention to senior pets or those who may be a little shy or anxious. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else, and I'll make sure they receive plenty of care, affection, and updates while you're away. I have a very flexible job where I choose my shifts so there will be plenty of time to take care of your dogs! I always do my best to be punctual and communicate to the clients. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. When caring for pets in a client's home, I make every effort to keep their routine as consistent as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions you provide. I make sure pets always have fresh water, a clean environment, and plenty of attention and affection. I'm attentive on walks, use secure leashes and harnesses, and avoid situations that could make pets uncomfortable or unsafe. I also respect your home by keeping it clean and tidy while you're away. I know every pet is different, so I'm happy to accommodate their individual needs and will keep you updated with messages and photos so you can have peace of mind while you're away.
About: In addition to being raised sharing responsibility for our household cats and dogs, I've been providing house sitting and pet care for my community for as long as I can remember, and thus have ample references I'm happy to provide! Aside from regularly caring for dogs and cats, I also have snake & reptile and even horse experience! Making sure your animals get the care they deserve is really important to me, and it's always heartwarming to meet new fun creatures. I am a student working part time and I'm very well available to take care of your animals. I'm best available for visit and house sitting services. One of the reasons I wanted to join Rover was that I am moving into a pet-free apartment and I'm really excited to get my dog and cat fix. I don't have availability to host animals, but I am a diligent walker/visitor/house-sitter with years of experience. It makes me feel good to take care of your space and your pet because it offers me a sense of adventure and newness that I often look forward to! I'm always happy to provide references upon request. I've got many :) Family and external, too!
“Lauren was great - she came for a meet and greet, had great questions, arrived right on time, and followed all instructions! I would definitely book again.”

About: Hi, I'm Ko! I have a deep love for animals that goes back as far as I can remember. I've spent 10+ years caring for dogs and building a genuine understanding of what animals need to feel safe, comfortable, and happy. I believe a pet's emotional and mental wellbeing matters just as much as the physical basics. My goal is always for your pet to feel understood and at ease, whether that's a dog who needs a long run or a cat who just needs a calm, respectful presence in their space. Your pet is family. I make sure to treat them that way. I have a flexible schedule and am happy to adapt to whatever routine works best for your pet. With structured routines, frequent updates, and fun weekend adventures, your pet's well-being and happiness are my top priorities. I work remotely part-time, so I have ample time to exercise, feed, and love on your pet! I have no problem with pets that may need more attention and keeping my time outside of the home brief (1-3 hrs.) When caring for pets in their own home, I prioritize keeping their world as familiar and comfortable as possible. One of the primary ways I ensure your animals feel safe is by closely adhering to their routines so I follow feeding, medication, and exercise schedules closely and treat any deviations as the exception, not the norm. Before settling in, I do a quiet walkthrough to check for anything that could pose a risk—unsecured doors, open windows, potential hazards—so your pet's environment is as safe as it is comfortable. From there, I let the pet lead. Some warm up quickly, some take time, and I'm equally comfortable with both. Throughout every visit, I keep you in the loop with regular updates and photos. You should never have to wonder how your pet is doing.
About: I recently joined a professional pet care team and love spending my days with dogs of every breed and energy level. I've also volunteered with a senior dog rescue, where I learned patience, gentle handling, and how to read each dog's individual needs — from playful pups to older dogs who need a calmer pace. Whether your dog needs an energetic walk or a gentle companion, I'll treat them like my own. My schedule is currently flexible, which lets me offer reliable availability throughout the day. I'm generally free from around 8am until sunset, so I can cover morning, midday, and evening walks. I also welcome boarding stays with advance notice, so I can make sure I'm fully prepared to give your pet my complete attention. Safety comes first for me, whether I'm in your home or mine. I always keep dogs securely leashed on walks and double check doors, gates, and yards before letting them off leash in a safe space. In my home, I keep the environment calm and pet-proofed, with no accessible chemicals, small objects, or unsafe areas. I follow feeding, medication, and routine instructions exactly as given, and I send updates and photos so you always know how your pet is doing. I also keep emergency vet contact info on hand for every stay.
“Shanna was great and super prompt and friendly, even though it started pouring right as she came to pick up the pup! Looking forward to working with her again, hopefully!”

“So grateful for Katheryn. She did an incredible job with my dog Clementine. Took such good care of her and gave me a great report after. Will absolutely be booking her again!”

About: I’ve taken care of both dogs and cats throughout my life. Recently, I started taking care of some of my friend’s pets and have gained valuable experience through them. I have taken care of cats of all sizes and energy levels, and have taken care of small-medium dogs. I’m currently working a full-time job from 7-4, but can swing before or after work, and during lunch time for an hour to take care of your pet! I am free weeknights after work, as well as on weekends. I can do drop-in care every 4 hours on weekdays, can stay overnight if needed, and/or can stay all day on the weekends. I do not have pets of my own, and live in a studio apartment so if your pet will be at my home, you will not need to worry about another pet being there. I have some plants that can be put away in a safe place if needed. If I will be staying at your home or doing drop-in care, I will make sure to treat it with respect and leave it how it was when I arrived.
“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Joey has been absolutely incredible. From day one, he has been patient, kind, dependable, and genuinely caring with my Great Dane, Zeus. He took the time to earn Zeus's trust instead of rushing the process, and it has been amazing to watch their bond grow. Joey is professional, communicative, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. He treats Zeus like one of his own and always goes the extra mile to make sure he's happy, safe, and well cared for. It's obvious that Joey understands dogs and knows how to work with them in a calm, confident, and compassionate way. Having someone you can completely trust with your dog is priceless, and I couldn't recommend Joey more highly. If you're looking for someone who is reliable, attentive, knowledgeable, and truly passionate about what they do, Joey is the person you want. Five stars without hesitation!”

“Martha is always so enthusiastic about walking my dog and my dog couldn't be happier to go on walks with Martha. She has thought of everything that the dog might need on his walk (treats, toys, poop bags, etc). Best of all, Martha is very communicative, always prompt and extremely flexible. I highly recommend her!”

“Andre is an incredibly communicative and trustworthy dog walker. Although I only booked him for a short-term gig, he took the time to meet up and get to know my dog beforehand which was very much appreciated! I would highly recommend Andre and will absolutely request his services again in the future!”

About: Recently moved to SF and looking to explore with your pet! I love to walk through the neighborhood and run. I’ve had pets my whole life (dogs & cats) and love nothing more than going for a long walk or sitting outside with a dog. I grew up with a German shepherd, German shepherd mix and doodle (all pictured). We now have a husky and have been enjoying taking care of other dogs to scratch the itch of having two My schedule is currently 3 days in the office with two days working from home. Other than Monday, those two days are flexible and I would accommodate your pet given the schedule. The first thing I do in the morning when taking care of a pet is attend to their needs, i.e. walk, feed etc. that is also the last thing I will do before heading to bed. While working from home I am able to take the dog out during the day to walk, play, etc.
“Jessica was a huge help! I had to leave town last minute and she was super flexible with me. My dog and I are both pretty high maintenance and she did great about taking all of my over the top instructions head on!”

“Bailey was a great walker for Whitney that I’d recommend to anyone! She was really responsive and gave helpful write ups after each walk, and Whitney seemed really comfortable in her care. 10 out of 10, would Bailey again!”

About: Hey, I'm Taylor! Loving animals is not my whole personality, but it's close. I've been taking care of dogs big and small since I was a kid, and done more serious pet sitting and walking for friends & neighbors since 2017. Pictured is Wheezy, the love of my life: a half Boston Terrier half Pitty I rescued around 5 years ago and nursed back to health. Holler with any questions! I am a journalist and work weird hours! Generally available for afternoon and evening walks both week days and weekends on a case by case basis!. I have a fenced garden area where my pup loves to tromp around. I also live very close to Alamo Square Park, where we love to walk and play if you're comfortable with your pup being social. I've trained Wheezy to return when off-leash but never let other pups off leash without owner permission. In the home, I've got a large crate if needed.

“Go and Misa are so wonderful! Xena was so excited to see them even after a year since the last time she’d seen them. They took such great care of her. I love all the pictures we get of her enjoying her time with them. Thank you!”

“Brianna (Baiyu) took wonderful care of my pup, Muffin! She was highly communicative and kind. Most importantly, my pup was happy and content when she came back to me.”

“Poppy had a great weekend staying with Katie. Katie sent updates both photos and descriptions of what Poppy was up to all weekend. Poppy spent time going on long walks, sunbathing in Katie's backyard, and lots of playing with toys! I am so very appreciative and would highly recommend Katie!”

“Jillian was amazing with my slightly neurotic dog! He came back happy and relaxed, which is absolutely not always the case. We will absolutely be using her again!”

“Gabby was phenomenal with Josie! She has stayed with Gabby several times now and we always get tons of pictures and Josie gets lots of special treats and activities (homemade things, beach visits, etc.). We think she's the best!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs since 2015, starting while I was in school and continuing over the years by helping friends and their pets with everything from daily walks to longer stays. A big part of my experience comes from caring for my own two dogs. One is very anxious and requires a calm, patient approach to build trust, and the other has occasional seizures and takes medication three times a day. Because of this, I’m very comfortable administering medication, following structured routines, and staying attentive to any changes in behavior. I’m especially mindful with sensitive or nervous dogs, and I take the time to make them feel safe at their own pace. I live near several parks and also have access to a private dog park in my building, so your dog will have safe, comfortable options for outdoor time. I treat every dog as if they were my own, making sure they feel secure, relaxed, and cared for while you’re away. I’m reliable, communicative, and always happy to send updates so you can feel at ease. I work from home, so I’m able to give dogs plenty of attention throughout the day. I take my own dogs out at least 4 times daily, plus one longer walk, and I’d include your dog in that same routine. Because I’m home most of the time, your dog won’t be left alone for long periods and will get consistent care, playtime, and companionship. I provide a calm, safe, and structured environment tailored to each dog’s needs. I’m experienced with anxious dogs and comfortable administering medication and following specific routines. At home, I ensure slow, supervised introductions with my dogs and offer access to nearby parks and a private dog park in my building. Dogs are never left alone for long and get regular walks, attention, and rest. In a client’s home, I follow all instructions closely to maintain your dog’s routine and provide regular updates.
