“We were leaving our rescue chihuahua for the first time and of course very worried. Chrissy was so great with him that he became her buddy right beside her like he is with us! It felt so good to know with all his walks and care he was doing great. Now we feel we can travel and he will be happy!”

“Rachel was fantastic with Wally! It was the longest time I’ve been away, and also out of the country, and she took excellent care of him. Loved all the photos and videos!”

“Bella was absolutely fantastic while watching my dog, Lola, at our house for four days. She sent daily updates and some wonderful pictures, which gave me total peace of mind and allowed me to fully relax on my trip. I came home to a very happy dog and a perfectly cared-for home. I highly recommend Bella to anyone looking for a top-notch, reliable pet sitter!”

“Jane did a great job with our dogs. We have a senior dog with meds and a 9 month old puppy. Jane kept everything in order and spent a lot of time with them. I really appreciated her puppy management and not crating him for overly long periods of time. She was communicative, forthcoming and left our house in tip top shape. I would definitely use Jane in the future.”

“Ruth, Thank you so much for always taking great care of our pups, and our birds and flowers! It makes it so easy to enjoy our time away and we really appreciate you! Have a blessed week! Carol”

“Abby is excellent! She took wonderful care of our 2 dogs, 2 cats and home durning an overnight stay. Our high energy, anxious and often particular doodle took to her immediately as did the rest of our menagerie. Abby communicated throughout her stay and sent many pictures and videos. We returned to a spotless home and very happy animals. Could not recommend Abby more and hope to have her house sit for us again in the future!”

“Allen was great! I needed a last minute sitter and Allen was the perfect choice. Great communication and put up with my silly dogs with no complaints. Left my house in great condition. I look forward to having him stay with my beasties again. Thank you so much! 💜”

“We could not have been more pleased with Cate. Her communication was exceptional and she took great care of our sweet dog. We loved getting pictures of.Cookie almost daily and appreciated that she asked questions and took good care of our baby. When we got home, it was evident that our dog was emotionally happy and had had a good time with her. We would highly recommend.Cate for long-term stays!”

“Katie was attentive and handled everything Keto had to throw at her, we had her watch keto at our wedding and roam about during cocktail hour with Keto in a little suit, I heard he was adorable, would definitely book her again for events or just to watch our little guy, thanks for coming🙂”

“Samuel was the best! He took such good care of my babies. He was respectful, neat and took time to get to know each of them. No doubt I will be reaching out to him again in the future. Probably within the month I totally trust him with my babies. I know you’ll love him too.”

About: I was an intern at Como Zoo for 5 years caring for all kinds of critters, all different shapes, colors, and sizes! That is where I grew my childhood love of pets to a love of all creatures :) I currently work in the late afternoon/ night so morning and mid day walks work best for me, but open to try and wiggle my schedule around! I believe animals respond best to positive attitudes and enrichment, they’re intelligent creatures that need to get out and explore just like us, with the safety and comfort of a good companion!
“Alex did an outstanding job with my senior dog and cat. She was communicative and reliable. She asked great questions and was a pleasure to work with. I will for sure rebook her and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter in the area. My house was well cared for as well and she did everything I asked. My animals were very well cared for and happy when I returned home-versus stressed.”

“Wonderful young lady who played well with our 4-yr-old Bolognese, sent updates without a request by my wife to do so. Conscientious, courteous, communicative - that's pretty wonderful.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats since I was 12 in my neighborhood, and continued to dog sit throughout college. I’ve been with a wide variety of dogs, from Dachshunds to rescued pitbull. I’m currently a PhD student, so my schedule can be pretty flexible. I’m typically free in the evenings, on weekends, and some early mornings. In the summer, I’m even more flexible! I love to spend time with animals and make sure they have all their needs met, whether it’s needing food or wanting to play! They’re always the priority.
“We reached out to Phoebe to watch our fur babies and our home while we were out of town. Our biggest priority was keeping the dogs in their normal routine and comfortable in their own environment, and Phoebe absolutely delivered on that. From the initial contact through the end of her stay, she was responsive, communicative, and completely trustworthy. We felt confident our dogs and home were in great hands the entire time.”

About: I have always had 2 or more dogs in my family since I was a kid. I own my own dog in college and have for the past year and a half. Taking rover shifts to help me pay for grad school! Throughout high school I pet sat for neighbors and their friends and worked with old and young dogs, pets that need daily meds and special instructions. I work 2 part time jobs right now, one of them has a pretty flexible schedule. I have a few hours in the morning before work and I finish work at 7pm most days. I can play with your pup, snuggle with your pup or just vibe with them. I'll match their vibe with whatever they need. Any special instructions you may have and make your pup feel special.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Myrtle Grove
Nolan was AWESOME! We did a meet and greet prior to sitting and he was detail focused on their needs. Also asked for more time to play and familiarize the dogs with him. While we were away he sent regular updates and photos/videos. When we returned our dogs seemed like their normal selves, having attention, play time, and relaxation. It was just the experience we were looking for. Highly recommend Nolan for all dog breeds and behaviors.

Jane did a great job with our dogs. We have a senior dog with meds and a 9 month old puppy. Jane kept everything in order and spent a lot of time with them. I really appreciated her puppy management and not crating him for overly long periods of time. She was communicative, forthcoming and left our house in tip top shape. I would definitely use Jane in the future.

Jan is fantastic! She met with Carlos a couple times beforehand to ensure he was familiar with her. She was very communicative. Jan provided excellent care, giving our pup all the snuggles while we were out of town. She even took the time to send us daily photos and updates. Highly recommend

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Myrtle Grove walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Myrtle Grove maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Myrtle Grove choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
