Jane went above and beyond to take care of our 2 dogs and the house which included trying to keep the plants watered and alive through the recent heat and of course this lingering drought. We went on a 2 week tour of Italy. We had never left our 8 year chihuahua mix since we had her for the past 6 years. She is a rescue and has some walking and rear leg problems so she was extra work as she is not able to walk far at a time. On top of that we have a 5 month old chihuahua puppy who being so young is sometimes a handful but also a lot of fun. Jane eased our mind sending great updates, great pics and even videos of the pups so it eased our minds not having to worry about them and it enhanced our trip greatly. If we need to be away in the future and cannot take the dogs with us we will definitely call Jane. I cannot say enough about how well she took care of the house and the dogs also. We were a little worried about how the dogs would take to a new person with us being gone and that we have never left them before. But Jane's experience showed through as the dogs became at ease with her very quickly and easily.

Chrissie did a wonderful job watching our pup and our home. Our dog loved Chrissie from their first meet and greet, and she seemed well loved when we got home from vacation. Chrissie sent pictures and updates daily, she left my house cleaner than she found it and she also went out of her way to buy a itch relief spray for my dog who developed a rash right before our trip. We were very happy with the care she provided, I would book Chrissie to watch my dog anytime!

Nolan was AWESOME! We did a meet and greet prior to sitting and he was detail focused on their needs. Also asked for more time to play and familiarize the dogs with him. While we were away he sent regular updates and photos/videos. When we returned our dogs seemed like their normal selves, having attention, play time, and relaxation. It was just the experience we were looking for. Highly recommend Nolan for all dog breeds and behaviors.

Abby was wonderful! We will definitely be using her as a house sitter again. She kept our fur babies happy while we were gone. She’s an excellent communicator and shared updates, pictures and videos with us regularly and reached out when she had questions. When we returned home everything was clean and in order which is always a huge plus when returning from a vacation.

Katie was fantastic!!! She was great with our dog Brady and he just loved her! She took him on walks every day and kept us updated (with pictures) while we were on our vacation... She looked after things at the house and left it as if she'd never been here! We've been home for a day now and Brady keeps looking for her to come back... We would recommend Katie highly to anyone looking for a house or dog sitter, or both... We will definitely plan to use her again and I'm sure that Brady can't wait!! 5 stars and A+++

About: I’m 28 years old and I live in Wilmington with my two kids. I had a German shorthaired pointer and I grew up with 3 labs so I’ve been a dog lover from the start. I’ve been working with dogs privately for almost 10 years so I have all the skills needed to take care of your pup! Currently I am a stay at home mom so my schedule is completely free. I have the ability to come to you whenever needed or wanted. I will care for your pet as well as you and will follow all instructions to insure your pet is well taken care of as if they were still with you.

About: Hi! My name is Kelly, thank you so much for considering me to take care of your pet! I have taken care of cats and dogs my entire life and currently have my own rescue dog, so I understand the trust and importance that goes into selecting a pet sitter, and I am happy to answer any questions you might have! When I am caring for a pet, I focus on understanding their individual needs so that they can feel safe and happy while in my care. Additionally, you can message me any time of the day and I will quickly respond with informative updates and pictures. I've also babysat many dogs and cats for my friends and neighbors! I'd love to play with and entertain your pet, go for walks, or pet sit whenever I can! I am also comfortable giving medication. I am available to help before 8 am or after 4:30 pm during the work week and am usually free anytime on weekends and around the holidays. Olivia did a great job with Piper. She provided us updates as needed, including photos. I think Piper had a great time with her. Prior to the booking, Olivia came by to meet us and Piper. She asked a lot of great questions and took notes. Leading up to the stay and during the stay she was great with communications, which was important to me. She took care of the house, brought in the mail and washed the sheets and towels before she left. I wouldn't hesitate to book Olivia to watch your pet. We don't travel much, especially now, but will plan on using her services next time we leave town.

About: Did you know walking, caring for and loving on a pet can spark creativity? I am a writer with a lifetime of pet ownership who would be honored to take care of your fur babies (and find some inspiration in the process!). I have just returned to the corporate world (it’s a fully remote role) from a traveling sabbatical writing several passion projects. My schedule is still quite flexible and my ability to travel to you quite easy. I understand maintaining your pet’s routine while you’re away is essential to minimizing their anxiety (and yours!). I have a large SUV if your dogs require transportation (like a trip to a favorite dog park or have a regularly scheduled play date or grooming appointment).

Jane did a great job with our dogs. We have a senior dog with meds and a 9 month old puppy. Jane kept everything in order and spent a lot of time with them. I really appreciated her puppy management and not crating him for overly long periods of time. She was communicative, forthcoming and left our house in tip top shape. I would definitely use Jane in the future.

We were happy to invite Denise back into our home to care for French Toast. French welcomed Denise with tail wags and kisses. Denise took French on some daily ‘adventures’ which he loved. FAQs for House Sitting - Sea Breeze

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Sea Breeze on Rover is $33.86 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 749 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Sea Breeze. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sea Breeze walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sea Breeze maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sea Breeze choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sea Breeze. On Rover:

  • 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
