“Robert did a fantastic job taking care of our dog frankie! I can highly recommend him for anyone looking for competent and empathetic care for their pet in Wilmington!!”

“Excellent communication and took good care of Ellie--sent pictures and it looked liked Taylor's son was getting along with Ellie--Taylor said his daughter also loved Ellie. Using again--next time for a week.”

“I have an anxious small dog and Helena was absolutely wonderful and gave me great peace of mind while I left him for 4 days. She gave frequent updates and photos so I knew he was doing well. I will definitely be using her from now on anytime I need someone to watch my little guy!”

“We had a wonderful experience boarding our dog with Kim for a week! This was the first time our dog had ever been boarded in someone’s home, so naturally, we were a little nervous and worried about how she would do. From the very beginning, Kim made us feel comfortable and reassured. Kim took excellent care of our dog. We especially appreciated the photos and videos she sent. We will definitely use her again.”

“Hilary took such great care of our girl! Sadie has a lot of quirks and takes time to warm up and Hilary was patient and understanding. I had a lot of peace of mind while we were away on our trip knowing she was well taken care of!”

“Allison was so understanding of my little guys disabilities and I felt totally comfortable with him being there while I was away. She's very caring and loving. He even bonded with one of her pups and that warmed my heart. Thank you Allison for giving me the peace of mind while I was enjoying time with my son. Will be back definitely!!!”

“Archie always loves his time with Valerie! She always thoughtful updates/photos and has been very accommodating when we have had to change our pickup times due to travel issues. She is our preferred Wilmington sitter!”

“Olivia and Andrew were great! Olivia sent photos of Cora every day while we were away. She had a nice visit with them. We’ve definitely booking with them again!”

“Rachel did an awesome job of watching our active pup, Ouzel. Rachel kept him busy with hikes and lots of playtime with her friends' dogs. We appreciated Rachel's attention to the specific needs of our dog and her desire to learn how she could make him most comfortable in multiple situations. Although Ouzel was excited to see us when we picked him back up, he also took the time to say goodbye to Rachel which was very cute and showed us he had a good time. We would definitely have Rachel dogsit for us again!”

“Thank you so much to Brittany and her family for the exceptional care you provided to our 5 year old Great Dane, Willow! While away on vacation for nearly two weeks, we received many daily updates and photos showing their daily activities including Willow. Brittany and her family truly made Willow one of their own. It was obvious in the photos that Willow loved playing with Brittany’s sweet kids, enjoying her daily walks, and playing in the backyard as a part of the family. Brittany provided more than just “dog-sitting”; she provided a caring family (Willow even made friends with their cats!). Without a doubt I would recommend Brittany for a pet-sitter. She and her family are genuine, kind, caring, and simply exceptional people. They did an absolutely fabulous job keeping Willow well-loved and well taken care of while we were away. Thank you again to Brittany and your family!!”
“Sue-Ling was amazing with my pup. It was his first time ever being boarded away from me and she kept me updated on him and how he was doing. She was very attentive. I will be booking with her again!”

“Jennifer was wonderful from the moment we reached out to see if she was available to watch Clark. She responded quickly, took the time to ask about his care needs, and genuinely wanted to know how she could best support him during his stay. From the very beginning, she gave us confidence that he would be in excellent hands. When we dropped Clark off, Jennifer was warm, welcoming, and made sure we felt completely at ease. She kept her promise by sending regular updates and photos throughout his stay, which gave us tremendous peace of mind. It was clear that she treated Clark like one of her own and made him feel right at home. Jennifer truly followed through on everything she said she would do, and we could tell Clark had a wonderful time with her. We highly recommend Jennifer to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and dependable sitter who communicates exceptionally well and provides outstanding care.”

“Meagan and her family were wonderful with my girl, Sookie! Sookie needs to be around confident dogs and Maegan's two were exactly that. From the first moment we met, I knew that "we had a match" for my dog. All the pictures and updates from Maegan were reassuring and it was clear to see that things were going very well. She clearly loves all dogs and is very attentive and in tune with their moods and actions. Her home and fenced yard were secure, safe, comfortable and very welcoming. My one concern going into this was that Maegan has small children and my dog hasn't been around many. But I expressed my unnecessary concern and learned that her kids are as professional, sensitive and loving of dogs as their parents. Five stars doesn't seem like enough!”

“Kelly took our last minute request and was super accommodating. She’s a true dog mom, so she knew exactly how to handle our anxious husky. She gave us real peace of mind while we were away. Thank you Kelly!”

About: I’m a lifelong animal lover whose always had dogs and cats throughout my childhood and adulthood. I also have professional experience working at a doggy daycare, where I cared for 70+ dogs each day. That experience taught me how to handle dogs with a wide range of personalities, energy levels, and needs while making sure every pup feels safe, happy, and loved. At home, we have a good sized fully fenced-in yard where your dog can run, play, and get plenty of outdoor time. I also love staying active myself, so going for walks with the dogs is one of my favorite parts of pet care. Whether your pet needs some extra playtime, a good long walk, or simply some love and companionship while you’re away, I’ll treat them like one of my own. I recently moved to North Carolina from Massachusetts with my fur babies and husband for my husband’s career and to continue his college career at UNCW. Currently, I am not working and pet care is my only focus. I give all my animals/the animals that I care for lots of love and attention. Additionally, I give them lots of play time and exercise.

“Will and Sara were awesome! You can rest easy leaving your pet with them for sure. They kept me up to date on how Cooper was doing along with great pics and videos. Cooper had a blast with Louie and if I ever have to use Rover again, Will and Sara will be who I contact first!”

“Jay was amazing! Our dog was well cared for and Jay gave us great updates. He communicated promptly and our pup was definitely cared for! Highly recommend Jay as a sitter for your pet.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Sea Breeze
We loved having Hunter watch our pup! We could tell she gave him lots of attention and got to know his quirks. We appreciated all of the updates and pictures she provided and her home was spacious and clean. We felt comfortable leaving him in good hands and would absolutely recommend her!

We recently left our 9 month old pup with Lauren for 9 days. It was the first time our pup has been away from us and our first time using Rover. She had a blast with Lauren and her dog Lucy and our experience working with Lauren through Rover was great. Lauren was very responsive and happy to answer all my questions. She provided us with daily updates and pictures. Drop off and pick up went smoothly & we didn’t have any issues at all. I would definitely book again with Lauren!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Sea Breeze home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Sea Breeze.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Sea Breeze sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
