“Stella did an amazing job taking care of our dogs and we highly recommend you book with her! We recently went out of town and booked Stella to watch our dogs while we were away. She went above and beyond! She was able to handle our two huge dogs perfectly fine with no problem at all. She sent us picture updates each day while we were away, and even followed all of our very detailed instructions we left for our dogs. If you need someone who will do a great job, we highly recommend you book with Stella!”

“I reached out to Kelly on short notice not expecting to have found the best dog and house sitter in the area. During her 4 day stay, I received so many updates and pictures about my fur baby and was so happy to know she was being very well cared for. 10/10 recommend Kelly for your furbabies needs. Kelly is so sweet and trustworthy, she is genuinely a kind hearted person whose love for my puppy did not go unnoticed.”

“Allen was great! I needed a last minute sitter and Allen was the perfect choice. Great communication and put up with my silly dogs with no complaints. Left my house in great condition. I look forward to having him stay with my beasties again. Thank you so much! 💜”
“Milena was reliable, friendly and a wonderful caretaker for our very young puppy. Sent pictures for updates and we felt very comfortable having her in our home while we were out. Thank you Milena!”

About: Hi! I’m Trinity, and I’ve been around animals my entire life. I have experience caring for dogs of all ages, from puppies to adult/senior dogs, as well as a variety of breeds and sizes. Whether your dog loves walks, playtime, or relaxing, I’m committed to providing attentive and reliable care that fits your pets needs. For the past six years, my family has had a German Shepherd–Belgian Malinois mix, and caring for him has taught me so much about patience and consistency when caring for dogs. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I treat every dog I care for like they're my own. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe and happy while giving you peace of mind when you're away. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine because I work remotely, giving me the flexibility to provide individualized care and adapt to each pet's needs. My flexible schedule also allows me to accommodate overnight stays and drop-in visits, so I can provide care to keep your pet's routine as normal as possible. I believe the best pet care starts with consistency, so I make it a priority to follow each owner's routine as closely as possible. Whether I'm caring for pets in a client's home or doing drop-in visits, I ensure they have fresh food and water, plenty of exercise and playtime, bathroom breaks, and lots of attention. Communication is also important to me, so I provide regular updates to give owners peace of mind while they're away. My goal is to create a comfortable and stress-free experience for both pets and their owners.
“Kelsey was great. We had one of our air conditioners go out just before we left. Kelsey handled the issue with no complaints. The dogs loved her and she kept us updated our entire trip.”

About: I have grown up around dogs, my entire life, and have had responsibilities to take care of them since I was a child. Neighbors and roommates have trusted me with their overnight care for 15 years now. I am excited to start dogsitting regularly to gain more experience and continue working while I’m in school. When I am with my family, dogs are a part of the daily routine. I understand the importance of incorporating their needs with my schedule, because they are a member of the house. When I am home with my parents, dogs are a part of the family routine. When I am watching my roommate’s dog, she stays with me most of the day when I am home and follows my routine.
“Cailin was the perfect sitter for our puppy, Wrinkles. She sent numerous photo updates throughout the day & was a great communicator. She treated Wrinkles as though she was her own. We will continue to use Cailin & would recommend her to any other pet parent!”

“My pups have had the absolute pleasure of having Emily sit for them a few times now and they just love her! She is so good with communication and always puts your pets needs first. Can’t say enough good things :)”

About: I have had a lot of experience taking care of dogs since I started my own "business" when I was 7, walking and pet-sitting for people around my neighborhood. I had 3 dogs and 3 cats growing up. Recently I'm most often just filling in for family friends on stays away. I have taken care of a handful of senior dogs and have a good understanding of their behaviors. I like to be outside and moving, so I happily will take your dog(s) out or on frequent or long walks. I will be available 7 days of the week, minus miscellaneous appointments and such. I am more than comfortable with overnight stays, walks, and drop ins, and multiple day sitting. My roommate is allergic to dander so I will be unable to bring pets into my home. I take notes very seriously for pets that need that extra care/the specifics. I will happily be able to walk, feed, play, let out and crate dogs as needed.

About: I have taken care of animals for the majority of my life whether that be nursing stray kittens back to health, assembling special meals for my dogs specific health requirements, or pet and house sitting for friends and family members so they could take a well needed vacation. I have always held a deep love for animals and a career where I can be around them all day sounds more like a dream than a job. While not a certified dog trainer I do have experience with training puppies for small tricks such as sit, place, stay, down, etc. and would be happy to teach your fur baby as I take care of them. As a full time student I have a very open schedule with asynchronous classes that allow me to be there when your fur baby requires. I make sure to keep my pets on a regular schedule with grooming, food, vet visits and play sessions so they may have the best experiences as they grow and develope.
“Haley did a great job taking care of our dogs for a week while we were out of town. She took them on several walks despite the Columbia heat in July. I could tell they were well loved from the pictures she sent while we were away. She also was very helpful with a water issue we had at the house while we were gone. Definitely would use her in the future!”

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life. My family got our first dog when I was three years old, and we’ve always had dogs in our home ever since. Through family, friends, and neighbors, I’ve cared for a variety of breeds and personalities, including Pit Bulls, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Labrador Retrievers, and small breed dogs. My experience includes feeding, walking, playing, providing companionship, and making sure pets feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and treat every pet as if they were my own. I’m a teacher currently enjoying summer vacation, which gives me a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to provide attentive pet care. I’m available for walks, drop-in visits, and daycare including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. As a teacher, I am responsible, dependable, and attentive to details. I prioritize every pet’s safety, comfort, and routine while keeping owners updated with photos and messages. I carefully follow feeding, medication, exercise, and household instructions to ensure your pet feels secure and well cared for.
“We are very pleased with how well Darian took care of our Goldendoodle Maggie. She did a wonderful job spending time with her and taking her for walks. We would highly recommend her to anyone who wants their furry friend well care for!”

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and genuinely love caring for them. I grew up in a homeschooled household with a dog and three cats, so being hands-on with pet care was just part of everyday life. As a kid, I was known around my neighborhood for walking dogs, pet sitting, and helping out wherever I could—even mowing lawns for neighbors—so responsibility and reliability were instilled in me early on. I also spent time working on an alpaca farm, which gave me experience caring for animals with different needs and personalities. In my adult life, I regularly help care for my sister’s three dogs, and since she’s a veterinarian, I’ve learned a lot about animal behavior, health, and proper care through her. I’m also very involved with my two nephews, so patience and attentiveness come naturally to me. One of the most meaningful experiences I’ve had was caring for our family dog, Toby, in his later years. As the youngest, it became my responsibility to make sure he was comfortable, safe, and well cared for as he aged. He lived to be 16, and that experience taught me a lot about compassion, consistency, and the importance of attentive care. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine because I already structure my days around being consistent, active, and attentive. I’m used to building my schedule around responsibilities, so walks, feeding times, and check-ins feel like a natural part of my day rather than something extra. On a weekly basis, I regularly help care for my sister’s dogs, so I’m already in the rhythm of walking, feeding, and spending quality time with pets. I also keep a flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets the time, attention, and care they need without rushing. Overall, I enjoy having pet care as part of my routine—it keeps me active, present, and doing something I genuinely enjoy. I focus on keeping pets comfortable by maintaining their normal routine as closely as possible. In a client’s home, I follow all care instructions carefully—feeding schedules, walks, medications if needed, and any specific preferences—so your pet feels safe and stress-free in their own environment. I also make sure they get plenty of attention, playtime, and companionship, not just the basics. If I’m caring for a pet in my home, I provide a clean, calm, and safe environment where they can relax. I keep a consistent schedule for feeding, walks, and bathroom breaks, and I’m always attentive to their behavior and needs. I make sure they feel included and comfortable, whether that means active play or just relaxing nearby. No matter the setting, my priority is making sure each pet feels secure, cared for, and happy while you’re away.
“Abby was a fantastic sitter for our Mastiff Theo AND my house was spotless when I came home. Thank you Abby for taking care of Theo over Thanksgiving weekend. Having you there made me feel extremely comfortable knowing he was in excellent care.”

About: Honestly I just love all pets and would love to meet yours. I have about 1 year experience and fairly new to the area but I'm always up for a challenge. Currently working full time overnight at a hotel, I don't mind taking your pets out for walks during the day or even on weekends. When at a client's home I will follow all the guidelines laid out for me, and if need be I can also take some preventative actions to keep your pets safe.
The median cost per night for house sitting in Belville is $50
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Belville
This was our first time using Rover, and also ever hiring a dog sitter to watch our two dogs. We were a bit anxious going into our trip wondering how our dogs would do with a new person staying with them. From the jump Cate was awesome to work with and really put us at ease that our dogs would be in great hands. She sent us daily updates and pictures, and left our home in great shape for when we returned. Would highly recommend Cate, and we are really happy with our first Rover/dog sitter experience!

Grace was an excellent sitter for our dogs and cat. She came to the meet and greet with good questions about their care and sent me frequent updates, including photos and videos. Grace also watered my garden every morning so my plants looked great when we returned. I will definitely be using her services again!

She was amazing with our two high maintenance cats. First time rover user, was looking for someone with experience pet sitting because of two bad past experiences. Millie was absolutely phenomenal I can’t express it enough highly recommend! We will definitely be using her again in the future.

Andrew was a great sitter to our dog, Bear! We were uneasy leaving him at his ripe old age, and we immediately felt comfortable with the level of care he was getting. We got updates, pics, and Andrew was great at communicating with us. We will definitely being using this super host again, thank you, Andrew!

Mila was awesome with our elderly dog Hudson she stayed with him for 5 days at our house. , very friendly and good with Hudson . Mila followed all instructions feeding walking and going out back. She even sent photos of him which made me feel so much better . The house was left clean. And Hudson was happy to stay home instead of a kennel! We will definitely use Mila’s services again !!
Stephen did an AMAZING job caring for our pets over Thanksgiving break. He held down the fort at home and loved on our pets . We came home to happy, exhausted from fetch and content pets. What more can we ask for! Stephen updated us enough to ease our minds but also not interupt our trip. Highly recommend and will book again in the future.
Kelly came out to meet Mia a few times before the trip to make Mia more comfortable with her. Once we went on our trip, Mia was very comfortable with Kelly and it showed in the pics Kelly sent us, as well as the updates. We got great pics and updates from Kelly daily, which is always wonderful when you are away from your sweet girl. Mia was definitely well cared for in our absence, and we'd use Kelly again.

Abigail was amazing taking care of our sweet Pepper and our home. If she is willing, we would love to have her as our go to sitter when we are out of town. She left our home in the same if not better condition than when we left and our pup was well cared for and loved! Thank you Abigail!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Belville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Belville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Belville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Belville. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
