About: I enjoy taking active dogs for long walks & runs! No issue providing meds & special attention for older fellas/ladies. I have sat for cats for extended stays as well. Happy to do so again! I work remote 3-5 days a week so I can take breaks to walk your dogs or give them a potty break a few times per day, including midday. I currently have no pets at home, however I grew up with 2-3 dogs and a cat for 18 years. I'll love taking your dog for long walks/runs if they need it! I am happy to care for special needs animals or those who require medications at each meal. Just send me your instructions and I'll treat them as you would! I am open to sitting cats, but would consider myself a dog person.

Caroline is always so great with my special-needs pooch. He loves her so much and she is diligent in giving him his meds and making him go nappy-nap time and playing with him when he is comfortable. Caroline understands dogs, and is very sensitive to their needs, all while following directions and respecting the owner's home.

I can’t speak highly enough about Michele. She met my animals before the trip to make sure it was a good fit. Immediately the animals loved her. Throughout my trip I got daily updates and pictures. With one of my animals incredibly prone to stomach issues, she followed his feeding and walk schedule perfectly, completely putting me at ease on my first trip away from my animals in my new home with no friends or family to watch - I can confidently say my animals (and I) found a friend in Michele.

Debbie was awesome and I can’t recommend her enough. I originally booked Debbie to house and pet sit for a couple of short trips but that turned into over two weeks of sitting due to a family emergency that extended my time out of town. Debbie took a huge weight off my shoulders by graciously agreeing to change her schedule and stay at my house for the duration. I got regular check-ins and pics of my pups which also helped carry me through a very stressful time. I will definitely book Debbie again! Thanks Debbie!

She went above and beyond with walking them and keeping our house clean and organized. We would love to have Erika dog-sit our babies again!

Amelia stayed in our home and looked after our geriatric small dog recently. (This was our first experience with Rover). On a previous trip when she’d been boarded, our dog hadn’t eaten and had lost several lbs, so we needed help. Amelia was perfect! My dog was able to stay home with no change to her routine. I received pics, texts and had an stress-less trip thanks to Amelia!

About: I have always had 2 or more dogs in my family since I was a kid. I own my own dog in college and have for the past year and a half. Taking rover shifts to help me pay for grad school! Throughout high school I pet sat for neighbors and their friends and worked with old and young dogs, pets that need daily meds and special instructions. I work 2 part time jobs right now, one of them has a pretty flexible schedule. I have a few hours in the morning before work and I finish work at 7pm most days. I can play with your pup, snuggle with your pup or just vibe with them. I'll match their vibe with whatever they need. Any special instructions you may have and make your pup feel special.

Katie took care of our 4 dogs while we were in Europe for 10 days. She did a spectacular job of updating me (nervous dog mom) while caring for our pups. We have two older dogs that take medication several times a day and one that wears a diaper at night. She handled it all with stride and we came home to a clean house and happy dogs. I highly recommend her!

We have a senior dog who has stayed with family, but he’s never more comfortable than when he’s in his own home. Shayla treats our old pup kindly and sends daily updates. Jordan was absolutely amazing! We have a very stubborn and sometimes difficult French Bulldog named Bear, so finding someone we can truly trust isn’t easy. From the moment we met Jordan, it was clear she is kind, patient, and genuinely loves animals. She went above and beyond to make sure Bear was comfortable, happy, and well cared for while we were away. Even with all of Bear’s quirks and challenges, she handled everything with such a positive attitude and never made us worry for a second. On top of taking incredible care of Bear, we came home to a house that looked exactly as we left it. Everything was spotless and well cared for, which was such a wonderful feeling after traveling. If you’re looking for someone who is sweet, caring, responsible, and willing to take on even the most challenging pups, we can’t recommend Jordan highly enough. We will absolutely be booking with her again, and recommend you do too! Thank you, Jordan, for treating Bear like one of your own!

Abigail was an amazing dog sitter, and I couldn’t be happier with the care she provided! She was incredibly responsive from start to finish and kept me updated with plenty of pictures, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. She was always on time, came by beforehand to meet my dogs, and took the time to make sure they were comfortable with her. When I got home, the house was just as clean as I left it, and most importantly, my dogs were happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. I would absolutely recommend Abigail to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy pet sitter. I’ll definitely be booking her again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Murraysville on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 776 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Murraysville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Murraysville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Murraysville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Murraysville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Murraysville. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
