“We have been working with Caroline for over a year and truly appreciate her. If its going out of town or walking Meatball during long work hours, we know and trust Caroline to take care of our boy. Carlline communicates prior to a visit for any preparation and changes, daily communication, asks questions, and Meatball always looks so happy in the photos. Caroline has become a part of the family. Thank you always for the great care.”

“Michele has been home sitting our pups since 2024. The pups love her. When they see her they get excited - a clear message to us of how well she treats them. We couldn’t ask for more. Because of the care she gives them - plus lots of messages and photos - we are able to enjoy our trips without guilt - and with the secure knowledge they are in safe and caring hands. We also commend Michele for how well she treats our home. It is as clean and neat as we left it upon our return. We truly appreciate that. If you need a gold medal pet sitter Michele is your person.”

“I booked with Shayla very last minute to housesit for a quick overnight trip. Shayla being there put my mind at ease, and I appreciated her being able to help us out last minute like that.”

“We had such a wonderful experience with Sophia! She was reliable, communicative, and clearly cared so much about our dogs. We received regular updates and photos, which gave us peace of mind while we were away! We would absolutely recommend her and will definitely book again!”

“Andrew was a great sitter to our dog, Bear! We were uneasy leaving him at his ripe old age, and we immediately felt comfortable with the level of care he was getting. We got updates, pics, and Andrew was great at communicating with us. We will definitely being using this super host again, thank you, Andrew!”

“Cate is amazing. We recently moved to the area and Cate was very helpful in helping our young dogs stay calm and happy while we away for the weekend. She took them out on a great hike and gave them love and treats as we would have done ourselves. We know our dogs are in good hands with her and we will definitely use her again in the future.”

“Tatiana was great. She took excellent care of our dog, kept us well informed, and was always on time. She was very pleasant to work with, provided us with cute pictures, and left our home spotless. We would definitely hire her again.”

“Rachel was amazing! The dogs just loved her and she was so good to them. We will definitely book her whenever our pups need company and care. She also sent wonderful pictures of the pups to let us see firsthand how well they were doing,”

“Lyndi was great! She kept us up to date with photos and reassuring texts throughout our time away. My older dog can be very anxious and shy and he warmed right up to her! We were so please with our experience with Rover and so thankful to have found such a kind, caring, and reliable pet sitter in Lyndi. We will 100% use her again and have actually already booked!”

About: Hi! Certified pet lover of all breeds, personalities, and diverse-abilities. I have over 15 years experience caring for furry friends and am comfortable with feeding, walking, administering medications, cleaning, and giving all the love! I have a pup of my own and will treat your loved one just like my own! I currently have open availability on weekdays and weekends! My partner works from home as well so we will have all helpful and playful hands on deck! I am happy to accommodate anything, just reach out and inquire. My fur baby would welcome friends for visits and we allow pups on all surfaces, making them feel at home! We have a very large fenced backyard and front patio area as well as a park on our street.
“Amelia stayed in our home and looked after our geriatric small dog recently. (This was our first experience with Rover). On a previous trip when she’d been boarded, our dog hadn’t eaten and had lost several lbs, so we needed help. Amelia was perfect! My dog was able to stay home with no change to her routine. I received pics, texts and had an stress-less trip thanks to Amelia!”

“Abby was wonderful. We were using Rover for the first time (it’s not easy to leave our dog). She made us comfortable by quickly bonding with our guy, sending plenty of pictures and videos, and leaving our home spotless. She was so easy to work with. We highly recommend Abby.”

“Katie took care of our 4 dogs while we were in Europe for 10 days. She did a spectacular job of updating me (nervous dog mom) while caring for our pups. We have two older dogs that take medication several times a day and one that wears a diaper at night. She handled it all with stride and we came home to a clean house and happy dogs. I highly recommend her!”
About: I’ve loved dogs my whole life, they just have the sweetest souls. I believe the best way to love them is to meet their needs. Whether that’s through affection, play, walks, fetch, training, or enrichment, I’d love to help you meet their needs in whatever season you’re in. I’ve cared for puppies, senior dogs, and everything in between! Whether they’re super friendly, anxious, timid, stubborn, a bit wild, or just goofy, I pride myself on my ability to be patient and am more than happy to meet your pup where they’re at. I’m currently available for walks and drop in visits between 8am to 5pm Weekdays and on some Saturdays. If you need long term walking or just sporadic, I can do both! I am currently unable to provide in-home services due to restrictions from my landlord, but I’m available for drop in visits and dog-sitting your pup in their domain!

Andy & Erin were absolutely wonderful with our senior dog. They sent plenty of updates and were easily reachable and responsive while we were traveling. They’re delightful people in general, and Darwin was immediately super comfortable with them. We’re already planning to have them back for our next trip.

We could not have been more pleased with Cate. Her communication was exceptional and she took great care of our sweet dog. We loved getting pictures of.Cookie almost daily and appreciated that she asked questions and took good care of our baby. When we got home, it was evident that our dog was emotionally happy and had had a good time with her. We would highly recommend.Cate for long-term stays!

It was evident within the first few minutes that Dottie was going to enjoy her weekend with Gabrielle. Having rescued Dottie three weeks prior I was a little apprehensive but any concerns I had were immediately gone when I saw Gabrielle's interactions with Dottie.

Grace was an excellent sitter for our dogs and cat. She came to the meet and greet with good questions about their care and sent me frequent updates, including photos and videos. Grace also watered my garden every morning so my plants looked great when we returned. I will definitely be using her services again!

As of September 2026, there are 776 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hightsville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hightsville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hightsville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hightsville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hightsville. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
