About: I’ve loved animals my entire life. Growing up, our family always had dogs and cats, and as an adult, I’ve had the privilege of caring for two blind rescue dogs, as well as my current lovable 16-pound Aussiedoodle, Zoey. Zoey lives with me and gets along well with other dogs. For the past 2½ years, I’ve owned and operated a dog-walking and cat-care business, caring for a variety of neighborhood pets. My experience includes three 19-year-old cats, two medium and large Doodles, a Dachshund I’ve cared for since he was just 10 weeks old, and dogs of many different mixed breeds, ages, and personalities. My approach is to always let the animal lead. Both of my rescue dogs came from very difficult circumstances, and I learned how important patience, trust, and a sense of safety are. Rather than expecting an animal to immediately feel comfortable with me, I give them the time and space they need to open up on their own. With a calm, loving, and safe environment, that trust usually begins to develop naturally. I’m especially comfortable with animals who may be shy, fearful, cautious, or unsure of strangers. I take a very gentle approach, allowing them to get to know me at their own pace. Once they feel safe and comfortable, that’s when the magic unfolds! I’m happy to follow your dog’s normal routine, whether that means sleeping in a crate at night or curling up on the bed. I live in a first-floor apartment facing a nice open green space, which makes it easy to provide frequent potty breaks and neighborhood walks. With pet-parent permission, it’s my norm to send daily updates and photos so you can see how your pet is doing while you’re away. I’m also comfortable administering medications and handling foods that require refrigeration or freezing. I watch dogs who are 1-25 lbs. My schedule is fairly flexible, and I do my best to accommodate each pet’s individual routine and needs. Just let me know what works best for you and your pet! I am currently retired so I am home most of the day/night. I live with my 16 lb non-shedding Aussie doogle dog, Zoey. I may step out to run errands, go to an appointment, other, but am otherwise at home. I allow dogs to sleep on my bed or stay in a crate at night, per pet parents wishes. If you are traveling and require a pick up after 6 pm just let me know so we can work something out. I live in an apartment on the first floor, so I have easy access to let dogs out for potty breaks as I face an open green space. I live in a safe community with plenty of sidewalks and street lighting. I often walk my dog clients in the morning when it is cool outside, so they can get adequate exercise. On rainy days, I like to occupy your pet with tug-o-war, or a treat-kong, or playing with other toys. Please feel free to bring your dog's favorite toys.

About: You can trust me to take excellent care of your pet! As well as owning my own pets most of my life (dogs, cats, ferret, bird, rabbits, etc.), I also have a Bachelor of Science degree in pre-veterinary medicine. I have pet-sat for several friends and clients, volunteered at shelters, worked at veterinary clinics, boarding facilities, and for a professional dog walking / cat sitting company. You can rest easy as your pet will be safe in my care. I follow directions well and get the details right! Why I love dog walking and sitting: I have been a dog lover since the day I was born. My first dog, Chief, helped raise me! Since then, I have owned a dog most of my life. Some have called me the "dog-whisperer". I have a pretty good perception of dogs and connect very easily with most. My last dog, Wendell, was a 150 lb. mastiff whom I adopted when he was 4.5 years old. He had never been socialized and was scared of most people, so in the six years we were together, I gained a lot of first-hand experience working through behavioral issues in a very large and strong breed. Our current dog is Lucy, a happy-go-lucky bull terrier who is deaf. She loves every living being! I also love taking care of cats and other pets. I've given lots of oral meds and various ointments, eye drops, ear drops, etc. Much of my week is flexible. I do have another part-time job Monday-Thursday mornings, but let me know your needs and I will do my best to accommodate! ONE DOG FAMILY AT A TIME Boarding and Doggie Day Care: It will only be your dog(s) and our one dog staying at our house. We have a secure, privacy-fenced yard, a doggie door, and a covered back patio with doggie beds perfect for lounging in the sun or shade. Our friendly bull terrier, Lucy, will happily keep your dog company! We can easily keep your dog in a separate room while we are away from the house if needed. Lucy’s dad/my significant other, Pedro, also lives here and also loves animals.

About: The summer I graduated from college I created a side gig in which I walked and sat dogs and cats for folks in the Brunswick Forest community of Leland, NC. My name was semi-well known in the community for a few months as I helped out many people in BF. In addition, walking and sitting dogs and cats is something I’ve been doing for the past few months. My sister has Rover account and she’s walks and sits pets. She gives me all of the gigs she doesn’t have the time for. Now I figured it’s time for me to create an account of my own! I currently work 40 hours a week. Aside from the fact that I’ll have to be gone at work for 5-8 hours most days out of the week, I’ll be very available for your dog/cat. I’m available for boarding any day of any week. As far as boarding goes, I’ve spent nights at customers places of residence and I’ve also invited dogs/cats into my apartment when the customer prefers that. I’m okay with both(keeping in mind there’s a 100% chance your dog or cat would prefer to remain in their own territory). If your dog or cat is going to be staying at my place, I only ask that they are potty trained. If a dog walking service is something you’d like me to do, we would have to schedule things on a weekly basis, as my schedule changes every week. I would have to walk your dog either before or after my shift. If walking your dog is something you’d like me to do for you on a multi-weekly basis, then I would let you know my work schedule at the beginning of every week and we would plan the walks for the week from there. I never fail to keep anyone updated. I only get 30 mins for lunch and my apartment is 15 mins away from my place of work. So, driving back to my place or someone else’s place to tend to a pet during my lunch wouldn’t be an option. Walking a dog during my lunch would be equally impossible. But, like I said, I’d be willing to walk a dog directly before or after a work shift. I live in an apartment in Birchwood Park, on Birchwood Drive. So, I don’t have a backyard. However, if you ever come over to my apartment complex you’d discover that’s there’s quite a bit of open and grassy space within the confines of the complex. My point being, if I invite your dog to my apartment then it’s not a problem for me to take them outside every 2-3 hours, or however often you’d prefer. It should go without saying that directly before I leave for a work shift I will always make sure your dog has been taken outside to go to the bathroom. I’ll also take them on a walk if that’s something you’d like me to do. And as always, I’ll make sure they’re fed before I leave. I’ll also take them out, feed them, and/or walk them as soon as I return from work. I will follow your instructions exactly the way you intended for them to be followed. I won’t miss a beat or a step. If sending you pictures of your dog or cat while you’re away is something that you’d like me to do, then I can do that. When your dog or cat(or any pet for that matter) is in my care, then you may truly be at ease. I love dogs and cats alike. I love playing and interacting with them.

About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember and have always enjoyed being around all kinds of pets- from cats and dogs to farm animals. Caring for animals has always come naturally to me, and I’ve dreamed of having the opportunity to spend more time with them. My husband and I moved to Wilmington about 10 years ago, and for much of that time, life kept us so busy that having a pet of our own didn’t feel fair. Since I haven’t had pets of my own during this time, I’ve happily gotten my animal fix by pet sitting for friends and caring for their cats and dogs whenever they’ve needed someone they trust. I work away from home (Registered Nurse since 2016) just one day a week, which gives me plenty of flexibility and time to give your pets the attention, companionship, walks, playtime, and love they deserve. I have a fenced in yard, a nice neighborhood for walks and no other pets to care for. I know how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pets in someone else’s care, and I’ll treat them like they’re my own.

About: I have grown up around animals and am experienced taking care of puppies to senior dogs. I have spent the last couple of years learning more about what makes a dog stay healthy and happy. I understand how a pet is a member of your family or your whole world so I will treat them as such. They deserve to be cared for at the standard they would be by you and I will take that responsibility seriously. I have my own dog at home and sometimes life gets busy and I need others to help me. I enjoy doing the same for others by dropping in, walking your dog, or watching them overnight. I have a very dog friendly apartment with its own walking trail to take your pet on a walk. I also have balcony’s overlooking the trail that dogs enjoy sitting on and watching the activity outside. I do have my own dog who is crate trained but he also always wants to play with other dogs. I can keep the dogs separated in my home, or out loose depending on your preference. I have no problem sharing furniture and couches with a fur baby because their comfort is my priority.
