I currently have 3 dogs, 2 cats and a flock of ducks! All of my dogs have been raised from puppies. I have cared for senior pets as well. I have spent hundreds of hours over the last several years educating myself on animal behavior for my own pets benefits so I am well equipped to love and care for yours as well! I have always been passionate about working with animals of all type. I will always go the extra mile to provide topnotch care and service. My husband and I travel often so I know how important it can be to find petcare that you can feel good about! I currently work from home full time with a very flexible schedule. I am able to come to your house during the day or stay nights! I can offer limited boarding as well. I love animals and I love travel. I would be committed to caring for your pets as if they were my own. I enjoy getting to know your pets as each one is so special. About: We have been taking care of dogs since 2018! We are so enjoying it!! Hubby walks the dogs and I cuddle and play! It's a win win for your fur baby! For doggie day care we are available between 8 am and 6pm Monday through Friday. Would love long term . We do have one small dog. For boarding we are available both weekdays and weekends. We have a nice fenced-in backyard and my husband takes the dogs out for walks when possible! When that option isn't available, they have dedicated playtime in the yard.We have one dog that is not initially playful but takes a while to warm up but he does typically! I do require a meet and greet before committing and for pets to show proof of rabies shots, heartworm and flea and tic treatments. I work part time outside the home but my hubby works part time in the home so rarely are we both gone at the same time. I have a fenced in yard and my husband tries to walk our dog daily.Typically will hit the area walking trails. If necessary, he is willing to walk animals separately(older dog who can not walk as long or dogs who have health challenges)Our dog is aloof and takes a bit of time to adjust but usually does. We are attentive to this and supervise very closely until we see how things are going to be. We own both a large and small dog crate and can separate them if needed

Allie and Ocean are awesome hosts for daycare! Allie takes the pups on a long walk to wear them out and has a fenced in yard for digging and romps throughout the day. She is attentive to my pup’s needs and gives snuggles and treats when he needs them♥️ We will be continuing daycare with Allie as long as she will have us!

About: For 12 years I have taken care of dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and birds. I love animals so much and I always love helping out someone with their animals so they don’t have to board them or if you work a long day and need me to give them a walk. I can be very flexible with when you need me and I promise I will treat your animals as I would my own! I am currently working part time right now, so I can definitely be flexible with hours that fit your schedule. If you need me a day or night, I can be there to help with your animals! I have a completely fenced in backyard that is almost half an acre. My two dogs Lulu and Fez are sweethearts, and they have always gotten along with any dog or cat that I’ve brought over to the house.

About: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. While I don't currently have pets at my apartment where I'll be pet sitting, my family has five dogs, so I'm very familiar with caring for multiple dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and routines. I volunteered with a local animal rescue throughout all four years of high school, where I cared for dogs of all ages and temperaments by walking, feeding, socializing, and helping them feel safe and comfortable while they waited to find their forever homes. During that time, I also served as a foster, providing temporary homes for rescue dogs and helping them adjust to a loving environment. These experiences taught me patience, responsibility, and how to build trust with animals. In college, I served as the Treasurer for UNCW's Service Dog Training and Education Program (STEP) for two years. While I'm not a professional dog trainer, my involvement with the organization gave me valuable experience working alongside service dogs and handlers. I'm happy to reinforce basic training, good manners, and routines while your pet is in my care. One thing that sets me apart is that I work from home, which means your pet will receive plenty of attention and companionship throughout the day. They'll rarely be left alone, and I'll be able to stick closely to their normal routine, whether that means regular potty breaks, playtime, walks, or simply having someone nearby to keep them company. I understand that every pet is unique, and my goal is to make them feel safe, loved, and right at home while you're away. I'll care for your pet as if they were one of my own and will always keep you updated with photos and messages so you can enjoy complete peace of mind. Because I work from home, pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I'm able to provide plenty of attention, companionship, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and supervised care throughout the day. Your pet won't be left alone for long periods, and I can easily accommodate their normal schedule to help them feel comfortable and at ease. My schedule is flexible, allowing me to provide morning, afternoon, and evening care. Whether your pet needs an active day filled with walks and play or simply a calm, cozy environment with lots of love and attention, I'm happy to tailor my care to their individual needs. Your pet's safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet's routine, preferences, and any special instructions so I can provide care that's as close to home as possible. Because I work from home, I'll be with your pet for most of the day to provide supervision, companionship, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and plenty of affection. I live in a clean, pet-friendly apartment where your pet will have a safe, calm environment to relax and feel at home. I'll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy and well cared for. I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your furry family member, and I'll treat your pet with the same love and attention I'd give my own.

Jerry was absolutely amazing! My booking was pretty last minute because I was so scrambled that weekend, but Jerry was able to pull through and helped me so much! Bud looked like he had an absolute blast with Jerry and Bud got taken on so many new adventures which he looked like he absolutely loved. Jerry was even able to pick up Bud for me which saved me so much time that morning and gave him a bath for me before I went to go pick up Bud later that day! Jerry is literally so amazing and I will definitely book with him again in the future!

About: I have three dogs — a senior, a teenager, and a pup — so I understand energy levels at every stage of a dog’s life. I’ve trained all of them myself and know that different breeds need different things, especially mental stimulation. I make sure my dogs get that stimulation daily so they feel like they have a job, which has really helped with anxiety. I’ve also had a cat and volunteered at animal shelters, so I’m comfortable with a wide range of personalities and needs. Your pet will be treated just like one of my own. I’m also a college student, so when I’m not in class I’m happy to come take care of your pets. I know your schedule matters, so I stay flexible and work around whatever timing suits you best. Your pet’s safety always comes first. In your home, I follow your routines, keep an eye out for anything unfamiliar, and make sure doors and gates stay secure. With my own three dogs, I’m used to managing different temperaments and energy levels safely together, and my time volunteering at animal shelters taught me how to stay calm and attentive with pets I’m just getting to know. I treat every home and every pet with the same care and respect I’d want for my own.

About: I grew up with a wheaten terrier. I would always feed and walk neighbors pets while they were on vacation and watched neighbors pets in my home while they were gone for a week. I currently live with my boyfriend and his dog however they will be gone for the next 2 months so there will be no pets in the home. I work M-F, 8AM-3PM. I go on an 2-5 mile walk everyday and can tailor my activity to your dog’s needs. I like to walk around the loop in Wrightsville beach or on the river walk downtown! I live in a 2 bed apartment on the first floor that is very clean but very dog friendly! When my boyfriend is here, his dog lives with us but he is currently traveling for work (with the dog) so the apartment is very dog friendly with lots of toys and blankets everywhere!

About: Having grown up on a farm, I have been around animals all my life. Currently, I live behind the university with my two cavaliers on a little less than an acre. My two are wonderful with other dogs and looking for some playmates. My fenced-in backyard makes for the perfect playground, and your dogs will be free to come and go as they please from inside to the fenced in area. I have boarded as many as 4 dogs at one time and have cared for senior dogs (18+). Reach out for information on boarding opportunities and/or for additional details. I am here full-time and available currently for boarding any time of the day as well as on weekends. I maintain full care of my two, so the more, the merrier! I have a fenced-in backyard that allows for safe and carefree playtime. My two dogs are very friendly and are sure to make for excellent playmates.

About: Looking for a reliable, energetic, and loving home for your dog? I work fully remote, which means your pup gets round-the-clock supervision, companionship, and frequent potty breaks throughout the day. I live an active lifestyle and love taking dogs along for runs, walks, and outdoor fun. But just as importantly, couch cuddles are a top priority here! Dogs are fully welcome on all furniture, so they can stretch out, nap, and feel right at home. Whether your pup needs a workout partner or a cozy lap to sleep on while I work, they’ll get plenty of attention, affection, and care. I have one female Plott hound, she is 4. She is very good at matching energy! If your dog wants to play, cuddle, or be left alone, she will do the same. Your dog will never be left alone with my dog under any circumstances. Fully remote with leaving for the gym once a day, I have a large cage that can be used when I’m not home. Your dog will never be left unattended with my dog, at the least they will be locked in separate rooms I have a fenced yard, can go out as much as possible! My yard does get treated for fleas ticks and chiggers. A lot of grass to roll in!

About: I’ve had dogs all my life. Since I moved to North Carolina I have fostered over 10 rescue pups, ranging in age from puppies to seniors. I have experience with puppies and all kinds of dog breeds. My first dog of my own was a 10 year old senior pup named Eddie that I rescued from a shelter in Tucson. He was my soul dog and we had many wonderful years of adventures together. Having used Rover I know what it’s like to be worried about leaving your dog behind. I’m a major dog lover and will take great care of your pup! I live in a house with a fenced in yard and know of lots of areas for walks and fun. In 2024, I adopted a lab/shepherd mix puppy named Finnegan! He loves to play! In December 2025 we added our rescue collie mix, Claire. I work for a children’s nonprofit from home so I’ll be able to spend lots of time with your pup. Feel free to ask me any questions! I work from home so my schedule is very flexible and I can easily be ready for potty breaks or walk breaks for high energy pups! I am a big believer of pets being allowed on furniture so I don’t mind if they climb on mine, but if you want to keep them following a certain rule I’m happy to oblige.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of September 2026, there are 327 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Hightsville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Hightsville commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 327 sitters in Hightsville, 84% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
