About: I’ve taken care of neighbors dogs for years! I have three chihuahuas and a german shepard hound dog mix! What sets me apart is my dedication to anything I do. I can promise a safe and caring environment for your best friends! As well as someone who truly cares about giving people the best service possible. I am in school and work part time! However even if my availability doesn’t align with your needs, I might still be available! Due to Rover settings I cannot put in hourly settings, but I am available certain times that I cannot put in the app. I am currently looking for a part time job while I am enrolled in school, and want to do something I love as well ! I have a fenced in backyard, as well as a doggy door so they can have access 24/7! Additionally I have a large neighborhood to take any fur baby’s on walks.

I currently have 3 dogs, 2 cats and a flock of ducks! All of my dogs have been raised from puppies. I have cared for senior pets as well. I have always been passionate about working with animals of all type. I will always go the extra mile to provide topnotch care and service. My husband and I travel often so I know how important it can be to find petcare that you can feel good about! I currently work from home full time with a very flexible schedule. About: I grew up in a home with both dogs and cats and have always loved caring for animals. When I was six years old, my parents gifted me a kitten named Sophia. She became my best friend and lived to be 20 years old before recently passing away from chronic kidney disease (CKD). Caring for Sophia throughout her life taught me a lot abt what cats need to thrive, including administering subcutaneous fluids and supporting a senior pet with medical needs. I also volunteer with a local cat rescue, where I spend time caring for cats and learning about their unique personalities and needs. Since Sophia’s passing, I’ve realized how much I miss having animals in my daily life. Pet sitting allows me to share that love and care with other people’s pets while giving owners peace of mind that their furry family members are in good hands. I’m currently working full time but available everyday after 3:30/4. With the schedule I have, it allows me to still devote time to caring for your fur babies! I’m more than happy to come to your home to care for your pet so that you can enjoy your time away from home without anxiety!

About: I’ve grown up with pets my entire life and have never met an animal who doesn’t love me! I would love to walk your dogs and treat them as if they were my own! I recently graduated from NC State University and am currently looking for a fun way to spend my summer, so my availability is endless! I would have no problem fitting in a dog walking into my schedule. I have a fenced yard and do not keep any food or ingredients where an animal could grab from. There are no harmful flowers in my home and I am aware of what dogs can and cannot ingest.

About: NOTE: I am currently only pet and house sitting in client’s homes only, and doing a one week minimum. I am willing to travel for the right sit, so feel free to reach out even if it is outside of my area code :) Hi, I’m Glenna! I’m a registered nurse with many years of experience in women’s health, and I also work part time from home. I’m a single empty nester with time on my hands, and am now enjoying that by traveling to clients homes while they are away or on vacation. I am willing to travel almost anywhere; even a plane ticket away, if the stay requires at least a 2 week or more window of time therefore, don't let distance be a factor in choosing me. Animals have always been a big part of my life. My beloved dog Jax crossed the rainbow bridge last year, and I’m looking for something meaningful to help fill that void. I’ve had pets all of my life and have been dog sitting for years, so caring for animals feels natural and comforting to me. There’s nothing like the love and comfort they give and receive, and I cherish being part of that bond. You can count on me to keep your home in great shape and give your pets the love and attention they deserve while you’re away. I am also happy to do light chores like watering plants, take out trash, pick up mail, etc Even though I only have 3 testimonials on this site, I have been sitting for Trusted HouseSitters for a year now, and have done multiple sits across the country with 5 STAR REVIEWS😊 Please feel free to DM me for more information—thank you! 🫶🏼 I currently work remotely and part time therefore, I have a lot of time and attention to give to your home and fur babies! 😊 I can brush and groom, take walks, go to festivals, feed, give treats and even medications if necessary. (And don’t forget the hugs and kisses) 💋

About: I have been around animals all my life. We raised our children with dogs, cats, chickens, fish, and even butterflies! I love animals and often care for family and friends whose pets need care. I have worked in New York, Arizona, and now North Carolina caring for these precious pets! I believe deeply that these fur babies are intuitive, intelligent, and capable of giving and receiving love. I work from home so my schedule is flexible. My day revolves around the needs of the pets I care for. I manage our rentals on our property so I am always close by! The pets I care for are free to roam around and explore inside our home. We have a back deck and open backyard. We back up to a nature preserve so there are walking trails and lots of places for exercise. Our neighborhood is quiet and well established. There are many dogs walking throughout in the morning and evening with their owners!

We had a wonderful experience with Madison and would absolutely recommend her! She stayed in our home with our three dogs for two nights and did a fabulous job. Madison was dependable, attentive, and clearly has a natural way with animals. Our dogs loved her and were happy, relaxed, and well cared for when we returned. Having three large dogs can be a lot to manage, but she handled everything beautifully and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. It is not always easy to trust someone with both your pets and your home, but Madison made the entire experience comfortable and worry free. We will definitely ask her to stay with our dogs again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, responsible, and trustworthy pet sitter!

Emma was fantastic! Moving here from out of state and traveling often for work, it was crucial for us to find a dog sitter that we trusted to care and love for our dogs the way we do. Emma stayed at our home with our two labs the whole duration of our trip, continuing their normal routine and making them Feel loved and cared for. She sent us daily photos and videos, had very prompt communication, and even did some household duties! I felt so much relief knowing Emma was with our dogs. FAQs for House Sitting - Bayshore

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Bayshore on Rover is $47.73 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 771 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Bayshore. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bayshore walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bayshore maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bayshore choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bayshore. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
