About: Hello! My name is Sam - I’ve moved fairly recently to the Bay Area, but have brought with me 4 years of veterinary experience as a vet assistant in an ER/ICU setting, as well as over 8 years of pet sitting experience. Although I’ve changed career paths, I have extensive experience within the veterinary care field. During my time working as a vet assistant, I worked regularly with all kinds of pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, snakes, and parrots (amongst others!). I have also worked with animals of all ages - from just-born puppies to 21 year-old cats. I worked with animals having routine medical issues (such as stomach upset), all the way up to complex chronic or acute medical conditions, so I know what to keep an eye out for. I started my venture into the veterinary world walking, feeding, and cleaning animals before working my way up to the more medical-facing portions of the field. As such, I have plenty of experience with routine care, as well as more advanced care such as medication and fluid administration, complex medical histories, and behavioral issues. I’m currently working at a company in Menlo Park Tuesday-Saturday, from around 8-4:30 (sometimes 7-3:30). I’m flexible, though, and can pop in during the day to check in on a pet if needed - I’m definitely around before and after work. My workplace is dog-friendly, so if your pup is good with other dogs, they’d be right at home! Nina & Leo were incredible care-takers of our cats. We hired them to stop by every morning to check on them and their food and water. They went above and beyond by not only sending pictures and videos of our cats, but also of the food, water and litter box. Emma has been an awesome find for us and our dog, Cody. Cody is an active 70lb inqusitive guy but who has been quite sick and needs a lot of extra care. Emma was easy to communicate with - responding quickly and clearly. She has been great with Cody - taking the time to get to know him and being attentive to his needs. She is always on time and has been proactively thoughtful in caring for our dog and our house. I would absolutely work with Emma again either as a dog walker or house sitter.
Qinyun was wonderful—pleasant, attentive, and very respectful of both my cat and my home. She checked in on Maxine for two weeks, wrote thoughtful Rover cards, and interacted so well with her. I’m truly grateful for her care and will definitely book again and recommend her to others!
