“Had the opportunity to have Jaime watch my dog overnight after using Jaime as a walker. I can tell you we couldn't be more pleased after having Ernie spend 3 nights at Jaime's house.”

“Super communicative, really showed that she cared about taking really good care of my dog 🐶 on the walks, and left really awesome and helpful notes with each trip!”

“Julia was wonderful with our dogs, and her communication was excellent throughout the entire process. She was incredibly patient, quickly bonded with them, and made us feel completely at ease while we were away. It was clear that she genuinely cared about our pets. We highly recommend Julia and would gladly have her care for our dogs again! Shannon”
About: I have 19 years of experience volunteering with dogs and cats at three different area rescues. I currently volunteer at Project Hope Animal Rescue Foundation in Gilberts. I also worked for a petsitting service in Elgin for 5.5years, so I have experience with many different types of dogs. I currently have two mixed breed dogs of my own and a cat that are all very happy and healthy! One of my dogs is reactive when on leash around other dogs, so I understand the patience that comes along with that behavior. In 2006, I acquired a dog training certification from Animal Behavior College. I am currently unemployed, so I am available most days and time. I am available for walks or drop-ins for feedings, playtime, cuddle time, etc. It is important for me to know about your pet's personality and routine. What commands does your pet know. Is there any ongoing training that you would like me to reinforce? I love going for walks, so if your pet would enjoy a walk, I would be happy to do that.
“Mary. Thank you for all you do. Leonardo always has a smile on his little doggy face after a walk with you. He runs in circles when you come. He can't wait to see you. Even a mention of your name gets him excited. I appreciate you so much. Thank you for always being positive. It shows how much you genuinely enjoy being with him. Thank you for the doggy treats and the extra time you take playing with Leonardo. Grateful to have you in our lives. ❤️”

“Thank you for walking amber again. She is always so excited to walk with someone other than me and she loves it when you take her to the park. Hope you continue to enjoy Amber”

“Jennifer is absolutely wonderful, so attentive and thoughtful with our pup. She’s the perfect peace of mind to know our pup is happy, safe and having a great time. Her communication is superb and her kindness is unmatched. So grateful for her!”

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life. Even though I’ve never owned one personally, I’ve always been the first to step into ‘owner mode’ whenever a puppy or dog needed love, attention, or comfort. Animals have a special place in my heart, and I genuinely enjoy giving them affection, patience, and care. I treat every pet like they’re my own and make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away :) I’m currently working part-time and also in school, so my weekly schedule can vary. However, I’m typically available on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and I often have open availability during weekdays as well. I’m flexible and can usually adjust my schedule to fit your pet’s needs. When caring for pets in your home, I follow your instructions closely and keep your pet’s routine as normal as possible. I’m gentle, patient, and very attentive to each animal’s comfort level. I make sure food, water, and potty breaks are handled safely, and I always keep doors and gates secure. I also send updates and photos during every visit so you can feel confident that your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away :))
About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life. I had my childhood dog, as well as caring for numerous family members animals. I‘ve done everything from popping over to watch cats and refill their food to overnight stays to care for animals. I currently work full time, but I can always work things into my schedule as that is the only other thing in my life currently! I love when owners leave me notes regarding their pets care and little trick and habits that will help the pets feel more comfortable. I ensure safety and care to any pets I sit or walk.
“Alyssa is absolutely amazing!!! Rogue loved her walk with her. She was so great with Rogue and definitely felt safe having her take her out and about. Thank you again!!”

About: I've had pets all my life (cats, dogs, fish, even a frog!) and did animal rescue for several years in Arizona- helping at adoption events, home visits, fostering kitties, a mama cat with 5 babies, & about a dozen dogs/puppies. I moved back to IL and am raising my 2 children and working from home. We have even rented baby chicks to help a local farm, so my kids understand pet care too. I truly understand how hard it is to find good, comforting help with pets and been there myself. I love all animals and currently have a senior female dog at home. I have proven to be a reliable helper to friends, family, neighbors, and even strangers. I've been able to save loose dogs and reunite them because of my calm demeanor with animals. I always love to give a hand to others and understand pets are family. I currently work remotely from home and have some flexibility during the day after 8AM while working and often done with work by 4PM, some days earlier. I have some kid activities on weekends, but generally home and my dog here is very laid back, sweet, and tolerates the young pups even and still loves to outrun them even lol. I have availability most on weekends for walks, but can try to arrange things time to time. I can squeeze in let outs when not in meetings with clients. I would let you know if time doesn't permit before accepting. My yard is fenced in completely and my senior dog is very nice and will help keep them feeling comfortable. I have extra crates if needed, depending upon the service needed. I am happy to drive a reasonable distance to help with yours. If overnight at your home, please note I'd need my kids to come with me when they are out of elementary school, but they are very respectful and well behaved animal lovers too. I understand pets are family and safety is important to me too.

“Merry Christmas to you, Kathleen and John! Thank you for taking care of Pixie for Amanda! We appreciate your help! Many Blessings to you and yours in the New Year!!”
About: And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." Matthew 22:37 I have been around cats and dogs most of my life, and have had my own dogs for 10+ years. Right now I have three- a tiny Chihuahua, a medium Carolina mix, and a HUGE Rhodesian Ridgeback. I trained them myself and they are my whole world! I would be happy to work on some training with your dog, I really have a passion for it.💜 I work full-time, so I'm mostly available in the evenings. I am usually off on Sunday and Monday or Sunday and Friday so I have more time on those days. I can do whatever is required for each specific dog. I have no problem getting dogs in and out of crates, walking any size dog while working on leash manners if desired by the owner, feeding and playing, whatever your pup needs!

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Lake in the Hills
We were struck by Hannah's genuine pleasantness and likability from the get-go. Our dog, a Belgian Malinois with an attitude and stubborness, sniffed Hannah and within moments rolled over to have her belly rubbed. Taking a walk with us and our dog, she listened carefully to our description of our furry family member, her characteristics, nuances, and nature. Over three visits, the walks became longer and easier, Hannah was able to coax our dog into wanting to explore. We look forward to her next visit and recommend her highly.

Alphonse is the best! He came today even though it was so cold. Had I known it was below 0 degrees I would have canceled today. Neither Alphonse nor my dog should have been out. They started their walk and Norma showed that she was cold and her paws were suffering. I’m so grateful that he had the good sense to bring her home before the scheduled end to her walk!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
