“A fantastic dog sitter…was our first time with Alyssa and she delivered everything we asked for and more! Super prompt, great “report cards” and such cute pictures. Will hire her again and again!”

“Iwonka was awesome! She graciously accommodated a (very) last minute booking request. My cats warmed up to her right away. Will definitely book again! Thank you!!”

About: I am experienced in administering medicinal injections, nail trimming and teeth brushing of larger breeds, lifting 60+ lbs, pad and potty training, and assisting senior and special needs dogs. I currently work remote and spend most of the day with my own pup by my side. We go to the nearby dog park at least weekly, go on two 20-25 minute walks (1mi+) daily, and play regularly throughout the day. He is very friendly and happy to tag along for any walks or play times, if the company is welcomed. I have a large crate available, if needed, and an in ground stake in the front and back yard with 30ft leads attached, allowing for plenty of time outside in shaded and unshaded areas. Food bowls are cleaned after every meal and pet waste is cleaned up after every trip outside.
About: I have been a fur mama for 13 years, but have been taking care of animals since I was a kid. I love BOTH cats and dogs! I have two of each—along with a turtle, so I am not afraid of caring for aquatic animals. I have experience administering medication both orally and subdermally. So I am not afraid to do either. I would love to help take care of your baby in any way! I currently work Monday-Thursday. I am available all day Fridays and Sundays. And full days every other Saturday, because I work a half day every other. Can make some weeknights work, depending on the situation. I have a fully fenced in yard, so no need to worry about keeping your babies safe. Backyard comes with two super friendly dogs who love playtime with friends!
“Rachael was very communicative & patient. She helped to alleviate any anxieties I had while traveling away from my senior cat. She sent lots of photos & kept me in the loop about my cat’s behavior, eating patterns, and overall mood. 10/10 service, glad i already have her booked for my next vacation!”

“Janet was so incredibly kind and hands on with my old lady peppers. She was thoughtful and communicated throughout. My 92 yo grandmother was also home and she even went above and beyond in socializing with her during Pinky's visits!”

“Lyssa is amazing with my puppy and working around my ever changing schedule. She is always on time and I never have to worry about my pup. The pictures she sends of my puppy during the visits, my dog looks really happy. Glad I chose Lyssa out of all of the local people on Rover.”

About: I have 19 years of experience volunteering with dogs and cats at three different area rescues. I currently volunteer at Project Hope Animal Rescue Foundation in Gilberts. I also worked for a petsitting service in Elgin for 5.5years, so I have experience with many different types of dogs. I currently have two mixed breed dogs of my own and a cat that are all very happy and healthy! One of my dogs is reactive when on leash around other dogs, so I understand the patience that comes along with that behavior. In 2006, I acquired a dog training certification from Animal Behavior College. I am currently unemployed, so I am available most days and time. I am available for walks or drop-ins for feedings, playtime, cuddle time, etc. It is important for me to know about your pet's personality and routine. What commands does your pet know. Is there any ongoing training that you would like me to reinforce? I love going for walks, so if your pet would enjoy a walk, I would be happy to do that.

“This was my first time using Rover, but it was so great to know my dogs were being well taken care of while I was gone! Marie was responsive, conscientious, and helpful. I came home to two happy pups! I will definitely reach out to Marie next time I need someone to take care of my dogs.”
“Natalie was great. She truly loves dogs and we are so grateful she was there to take care of Buddy when we were on vacation. Thank you Natalie! Buddy is doing well because of you.”

“Samantha was great for taking care of Shelley while we went on a 4 day trip. She’s very knowledgeable on how to deal with our fur baby. We are gladly to recommend her to our friends in our neighborhood. She’s also on time to her schedule drop in visits. Thanks so much for an excellent job.”

“Jennifer did so great with our floofs! She took the time to get to know them and took pictures of the cuddles she got from them, which meant they were super comfortable with her!”

Thank you for taking such wonderful care of my fur babies! It meant so much to know they were in such good hands. I was able to leave with complete peace of mind, knowing they were safe, loved, and well cared for. I truly appreciate everything you did, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter. Thank you again!

I always know everything will go great when Sheri is with my cats. She brushes them, plays or keeps it chill if they want to relax. They are best buds. She has a love for all animals and also enjoys feeding my backyard birds and squirrels when I'm out of town. Thanks Sheri!

Samantha was wonderful. She went above and beyond. She stayed in constant communication with me. Sent me silly and lovely pictures of my babies. Dealt with a last minute booking on my part. I could not ask of a better person to watch my girls (3 cats) I trusted her completely.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lake in the Hills. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
