“This was my first time using a service like Rover, so I was definitely a little nervous going into it. Janet made that go away pretty quickly. She came by a few days before my trip to meet me and my dog, Kiefer, and walk through everything. That alone helped a lot, and you can immediately tell she’s great with dogs. During the trip, she stopped by three times a day as planned, and after every visit she completed a Rover card with pictures and a detailed recap. Those updates were huge for me. It really put my mind at ease knowing Kiefer was being taken care of and doing well. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Janet is absolutely a 5 star provider, and I’d recommend her to anyone looking for reliable drop in care.”

About: I've had pets my whole life. It started with the kitten I found in the empty lot next to my home when I was just a little kid. I had multiple types of cats and dogs my whole life, occasionally taking in strays. Friends and family used to call me an animal whisperer because even the most shy pets would let me meet them. I'm super gentle with animals, respect their "person"-hood, but at the same time I'm a big guy and can easily walk your big dog. I had a German Shepherd/Lab mix, as well as a Belgium Malinois (not at the same time!). I took both through pet training courses. I also had a King Charles spaniel that I adopted. I had 3 main cats throughout my life, though several found/rescued ones throughout. My last cat had asthma and I had to give it an inhaler, so I have experience administering medication (I've had to give shots at various times as well). I work from home with a fairly flexible schedule. I can slip away from a walk almost any time, though I do have occasional meetings I need to attend. I have daily meetings at 11am which usually don't last more than 15-30 mins. I'm happy to follow whatever rules you have in place for your pets. The time I spend with them can be a nice changeup in their routine, to give them something to look forward to. I understand that pets feel like kids to some of us, and will always keep their joy and safety in mind.
“Iwonka was AMAZING! Our 18 year old cat doesn’t always take to strangers, but Callie loved Iwonka! She immediately warmed up to her and would follow her around the whole time she visited. Iwonka was kind, professional, and so sweet. She followed all the directions we had for giving Callie her medicine and quirks about her. We loved seeing photos of Callie while we were away and knew she was in the best hands! We absolutely will be using Iwonka again for Cat sitting when we are in need. She was quick to respond to our messages and kept our house very clean (cleaned up some puke and a poop accident as well as put all the food and water dishes in the dishwasher). We cannot thank her enough for making our sweet, old girl so happy while we were away!!”

About: I’ve taken care of my own dogs for the last 1( years, all over 40lbs. I’m also familiar with dealing with reactive dogs, I was social distancing well before that was a thing 😃. I’ve taken care of my parent’s cat for the last 2 years and I’m comfortable with changing cat litter. I look forward to meeting you and your pups/kittens. I’m currently in school on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, after 5pm. The rest of my schedule is open to provide the service your pet needs. I will always keep safety first, follow all instructions prescribed by the customer, be on-time and provide the service your fur baby needs. In addition, I’m open to any communication that the pet owner requires, phone call, FaceTime or just text message to keep them updated on their pets well-being.
About: I am experienced in administering medicinal injections, nail trimming and teeth brushing of larger breeds, lifting 60+ lbs, pad and potty training, and assisting senior and special needs dogs. I currently work remote and spend most of the day with my own pup by my side. We go to the nearby dog park at least weekly, go on two 20-25 minute walks (1mi+) daily, and play regularly throughout the day. He is very friendly and happy to tag along for any walks or play times, if the company is welcomed. I have a large crate available, if needed, and an in ground stake in the front and back yard with 30ft leads attached, allowing for plenty of time outside in shaded and unshaded areas. Food bowls are cleaned after every meal and pet waste is cleaned up after every trip outside.
About: I have been around cats and dogs most of my life, and have had my own dogs for 10+ years. Right now I have three- a tiny Chihuahua, a medium Carolina mix, and a HUGE Rhodesian Ridgeback. I trained them myself and they are my whole world! I would be happy to work on some training with your dog, I really have a passion for it.💜 And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." Matthew 22:37 I work full-time, so I'm mostly available in the evenings. I am usually off on Sunday and Monday or Sunday and Friday so I have more time on those days. I can do whatever is required for each specific dog. I have no problem getting dogs in and out of crates, walking any size dog while working on leash manners if desired by the owner, feeding and playing, whatever your pup needs!
“This was the first time I was leaving half of my cats alone and one of them required daily medication. Rachael did an amazing job. I got thorough reports and a lot of photos, all of which really eased my anxiety. She was so communicative. Thank you again!”

About: I have loved animals—especially cats since childhood. They have been a part of my life all along. I had my own cat for 13 years and loved looking after and caring for him. For the time being, I don't work on certain days, so I can spend the whole day with your pet and give them all my love! I love showing affection and taking an interest in spending time with pets—whether at my own home or a client's because every animal deserves attention.
“Eloise was fantastic! She followed all of our instructions, and our dog and cat seemed to genuinely love having her take care of them. She was available for a drop in last minute, and sent over very cute photos and videos. Will definitely be hiring her again!”

“Lyssa is amazing with my puppy and working around my ever changing schedule. She is always on time and I never have to worry about my pup. The pictures she sends of my puppy during the visits, my dog looks really happy. Glad I chose Lyssa out of all of the local people on Rover.”

“Taylor was absolutely fantastic! I am very nervous leaving my big German shepherd with anyone (I’m a bit of a helicopter parent) but Taylor got on with him very well! She dropped in on him during a very long day at work for me, gave him a bit of attention and a potty break, and all went smoothly! She communicated quickly when she was with him and even brought in my heavy chewy box of dog food that was delivered! I can’t say how happy I am to have someone that seems to like my big boy and will be able to take care of him when I need. Taylor is awesome!!”

“Elizabeth was great! She took care of our cat while we were gone for the weekend. She was very communicative and clearly took great care of our cat. Highly recommend!”

“Laura did a wonderful job with Skylar. She is extremely conscientious; went above and beyond cleaning up a mess and watering plants. But most importantly, I was confident Sky was in good hands and having some fun play time too! Can't wait to use her services again!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Huntley
Grayson took wonderful care of our cat, Kitty Kelly, while we were away. He was reliable, caring, and clearly loves animals. It gave us great peace of mind knowing Kitty Kelly was in such good hands. When we came home, Kitty Kelly was happy, relaxed, and very well cared for. We truly appreciate everything Grayson did and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter. We would happily have him care for Kitty Kelly again!
Megan did an outstanding job of caring for Katie our cat. From the time we first contracted her, she kept us well informed. She came to meet us and Katie in advance of the booking and send us pictures and a narrative at each visit. She even brought in our newspapers. We would highly recommend Megan if you need someone to care for your pet.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
