“Jennifer is such a sweet person. She took a very good care of simba. I see his happy face in the pictures that she sent during my trip. I have enjoyed my trip without worrying about him. She send me so many updates through out the day. I would highly recommend her and looking forward to book again in the future.”

“Dorene was very friendly and took good care of our pups while we were gone. They were well fed and went on long walks and she was very communicative. Usually my pups miss home but this time they felt right at home with Dorene. I’m thankful to have found a reliable person to take care of my pups.”

“Dickson really cares about my dog Arlo! Although Arlo was very anxious and nervous, he quickly warmed up to Dickson. I can tell Dickson is very passionate about caring for dogs.”

“Our dog came home a tired and happy dog. The pictures and updates were appreciated, and made me more comfortable knowing that our dog was having a good time. We would book again at Deanne's house.”

“Meredith was so great at keeping me informed and sending pictures of my pup while we were away on our trip. She seems to really know a lot about dogs and I love the fact that she has veterinary tech experience and dog training certification! My pup was very happy there and I will certainly use Meredith again!”

“Jackie did a great job with our Havanese! Great with communication, sent lots of pictures. Especially grateful that she tried to ease his anxiety during a bad thunderstorm. We will be using her again for our pet sitting needs!”

“Sammy and Rico had a great time and felt at home! Id highly recommend boarding your dog or dogs with Stella. She gave regular updates with pics. Of the boys. Greatly appreciated that! Thank you”

“Yaqi is absolutely the best, I have an elderly Frenchie who is generally with me 24/7. I was very worried about leaving her with anybody but Yaqi very quickly put my mind at ease. She sends many pics and videos and my dog loves her. I won’t sorry next time I leave town because I know my dog will be with Yaqi.”

“Megan was fantastic! Tons of pictures, immediate responses while messaging and was flexible on time changes. Already planning to book again with Megan! Thank you so much for taking such excellent care of Moon.”

“Roberto and his family did a wonderful job sitting for our dog Hopper while we were on vacation for two weeks. He sent us pictures and updates every day or two. They really made Hopper part of the family (even though Hopper kept stealing all of their dog’s toys and attention). We were very happy to be able to leave Hopper in a home where he was so well cared for.”

“Hannah was AMAZING! It was our first time using Hannah and she was very professional and very accommodating. She sent pics of our Beau everyday! I would definitely recommend her and will be using her again!”

“Tricia was awesome! Her dogs are so cute & you can tell she really loves animals as this is all she does so her main priority is your babies. We got so many texts while we were away which we thought was amazing. Knowing our babies were happy & doing good made us feel really good about leaving them with her. They loved her & she loved them too & my little Bella was super tired when we got her back and napping all night which was such a relief. We can’t wait to have them stay with her again and I’m sure they’ll be excited too!”

About: Hi there! My name is Stephanie and have ample experience and tons of love for dogs! We have rescued a few pups with varying personalities and support requirements from partial paralysis, fear-aggression and anxiety. I have experience in dog walking, boarding and administration of medications (our own pup takes meds daily). I do have a 2 year old toddler at home along with an 11-year-old dachshund mix so any boarding requests should take that into consideration and will be vetted accordingly! I do work from home so your love bug would get lots of attention !
About: I have loved animals—especially cats since childhood. They have been a part of my life all along. I had my own cat for 13 years and loved looking after and caring for him. For the time being, I don't work on certain days, so I can spend the whole day with your pet and give them all my love! I love showing affection and taking an interest in spending time with pets—whether at my own home or a client's because every animal deserves attention.
About: We currently foster a variety of different dogs through out the year. We are used to quirky behaviors, shy pups, and just getting dogs to become comfortable with us and our home. We are very adjustable to different dog personalities and requirements, and will be flexible with your needs, and how the dog reacts to us in our home or yours. We have owned many pets in our lifetime, including dogs (as well as fostering). We are well versed in activity, playtime, and training. We love to play fun activities with our dogs such as obstacles, finding treats, water playtime and more! *We will never have a foster dog at the same time we are dog sitting in our home. I work part time from home, and my husband works from home as well. A dog staying in our care will have many walks through out the day, and will be able to go outside every few hours. We have very flexible schedules and outside of a random weekday activity, your pet will be our primary responsibility. In our home, we will tailor set up and activity based on the pet's needs. We are open to using crates, beds, free roaming based on what the pet is used to and comfortable with. We have kids in the home who are very used to working with new animals, especially animals who have come for traumatic environments so they know what to do around new animals-- slow introductions if needed, calm environment, playing in separate rooms etc. We will work with the personality of your dog!
“Thank you for taking such good care of our senior frenchie, Duke. He had a great time and I had no doubt he was in great hands while we were out of town. Marta was quick to respond to messages and sent great pictures and updates throughout the stay.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
