“Linda and George took amazing care of my pup. They sent update photos everyday and even took my pup out and about, which he loved every second of it! I would 1000% recommend them for any type of dog sitting and I know my pup can’t wait for the next trip back!”

“Gavin was very patient , kind and understanding of my crazy schedule for this weekend and also my first time pet parent anxiety, and my dog loved being in his carelol I would gladly book with him again!”

About: We currently foster a variety of different dogs through out the year. We are used to quirky behaviors, shy pups, and just getting dogs to become comfortable with us and our home. We are very adjustable to different dog personalities and requirements, and will be flexible with your needs, and how the dog reacts to us in our home or yours. We have owned many pets in our lifetime, including dogs (as well as fostering). We are well versed in activity, playtime, and training. We love to play fun activities with our dogs such as obstacles, finding treats, water playtime and more! *We will never have a foster dog at the same time we are dog sitting in our home. I work part time from home, and my husband works from home as well. A dog staying in our care will have many walks through out the day, and will be able to go outside every few hours. We have very flexible schedules and outside of a random weekday activity, your pet will be our primary responsibility. In our home, we will tailor set up and activity based on the pet's needs. We are open to using crates, beds, free roaming based on what the pet is used to and comfortable with. We have kids in the home who are very used to working with new animals, especially animals who have come for traumatic environments so they know what to do around new animals-- slow introductions if needed, calm environment, playing in separate rooms etc. We will work with the personality of your dog!
“We love Carolyn. But most important our dog loves her too!! He is happy to be there and we feel like he is at a best friend’s home. She truly loves the pets she cares for. She always goes above and beyond to make the stay the best possible!”

“David and Mary were great! They sent me pictures of how my dog Pluto was doing when I dropped him off on an extended stay of 9 days. I could tell that he was loved and had a very comfortable stay with David and Mary. Would definitely book with them again.”

“Patricia took amazing care of Zoey. She was great with sending us video and photo updates which gave us peace of mind. I highly recommend Patricia and look forward to having her watch Zoey again.”

“We had a great experience boarding our dog with Jackie! She was very thorough and respectful of all of our dog's needs and preferences. We received updates and pictures a few times a day, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was clear our dog was having a wonderful time—especially having Jackie's dogs as playmates. She was very capable and attentive, and we felt very comfortable leaving our dog in her care. Marty is looking forward to staying at Jackie's again!”

About: Hi there! My name is Stephanie and have ample experience and tons of love for dogs! We have rescued a few pups with varying personalities and support requirements from partial paralysis, fear-aggression and anxiety. I have experience in dog walking, boarding and administration of medications (our own pup takes meds daily). I do have a 2 year old toddler at home along with an 11-year-old dachshund mix so any boarding requests should take that into consideration and will be vetted accordingly! I do work from home so your love bug would get lots of attention !
“We had a wonderful experience boarding our dog with Kent. Our dog received 100% of his attention and care the entire time. The daily updates and photos gave us total peace of mind. We will definitely book with him again.”

“Penny was amazing! I left my pup, Ginger, with her for 2 weeks while we were out of country. Penny sent pictures of Ginger and made sure she had plenty of activity. I even noticed that Ginger had lost a few pounds that she needed to lose! I would highly recommend Penny!”

“Katey was fantastic! Since our move from out of state this past year our dog has had a rough time adjusting and Katey was very understanding, flexible, and so helpful during his stay with her. She kept us posted on how he was doing and we felt so comfy having him stay with her. We definitely recommend and will use her again!”

“Tricia was awesome! Her dogs are so cute & you can tell she really loves animals as this is all she does so her main priority is your babies. We got so many texts while we were away which we thought was amazing. Knowing our babies were happy & doing good made us feel really good about leaving them with her. They loved her & she loved them too & my little Bella was super tired when we got her back and napping all night which was such a relief. We can’t wait to have them stay with her again and I’m sure they’ll be excited too!”

“Carla and her family are amazing! I would absolutely leave Cooper with her again. She sent so many photos and videos, it was nice to know how Cooper was doing. Great family, great communication, and Cooper had a great time!”

“Lizzie was a perfect caretaker for our 7 year old golden doodle! She sent pictures, videos and communicated the perfect amount during our dog’s stay. We will booking with her again!”

“Justine & Brett were so wonderful and patient with Ramen! He is anxious and can take time to warm up, but they went above and beyond to make him comfortable!”

“We boarded our 2 little guys with Rosarin for several nights and could tell they were very well cared for. We got updates via the app on their days felt relieved they were in excellent care. Would highly recommend!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Pingree Grove
Jennifer was very responsible and took good care of Fluffy, sending updates with pictures. She asked questions for details to ensure proper care. She also kept her larger, playful dog separate from Fluffy because she was recovering from 2 compacted disks in her lower back. Fluffy was recovering well and almost back to her previous long walks, but she decided to err on the side of caution. Tom

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
