“Jorge and Susie took wonderful care of my dog. They treated her as if she was their own. I will book them for any future trip and feel secure in knowing my baby will be in good hands ❤️❤️❤️”

“Tricia was awesome! Her dogs are so cute & you can tell she really loves animals as this is all she does so her main priority is your babies. We got so many texts while we were away which we thought was amazing. Knowing our babies were happy & doing good made us feel really good about leaving them with her. They loved her & she loved them too & my little Bella was super tired when we got her back and napping all night which was such a relief. We can’t wait to have them stay with her again and I’m sure they’ll be excited too!”

“JoAnne is the best! She provided updates and pictures throughout the stay. Ralph had a blast with the whole family and was spoiled with Hunny play time and snuggles. We will continue to come back to JoAnne as long as she provides the service. Thank you!”

“Yvette was a life saver, able to accept our Maltipoo after our original care plan fell through last minute, in the late evening, as we were headed out for a long weekend out of town. Our shy pup enjoyed her companionship as well as that of her two little dogs. Yvette is kind, caring and nurturing and persistent in gaining the trust of dogs which was wonderful to experience. Her home is a very warm and cozy environment that we instantly felt our dog would really enjoy. I would definitely recommend Yvette to a friend or family member and hope to be able to use Yvette's services next time our dog needs care. Thank you Yvette!”

“Great communication from Ashley! I received pictures and videos and continual love from afar about my sweet boy. Huge yard and a great home for any doggie. Excited to have Bowie hosted there again, highly recommended! Great experience!”

“Judy was absolutely wonderful to work with for our dog Simba. We felt comfortable and relaxed to leave him for an extended time for the first time. We could also tell that Simba really enjoyed his time with Judy and Bill. They made him feel right at home, and took such thoughtful and attentive care of him!”

“Katie was amazing she made us feel comfortable leaving Max with her beautiful family, she was always sending us pictures of him and letting us know how he was doing! I will definitely recommend her to take care of your Fur baby. Thank you so much 😊 i will gladly give her 1000 star ⭐️ review”

“She is so kind and patient with our dog! We knew she was the right one as soon as I saw the house skies in the pictures as we have a Husky. We would highly recommend her!”
“Beth was so responsive and took great care of Jude! I will definitely be booking with her again as I knew he was in good hands the whole time. She sent updates and pictures and made me feel very comfortable leaving Jude in her care.”

“My skiddish Golden doodle is always very comfortable with Christine. I know she is being treated well and cared for. Peace of mind when I can't take her with me. Thank you Christine!”

“Leanne was wonderful with Ella! Ella loved having built in play buddies and lots of attention from Leanne. The communication was great and I felt confident my dog was well cared for during her stay. We will definitely use Leanne again!”

“Thank you Elaina and Joseph for allowing me to book with a short notice and for being very flexible with dropoff and pickup times. Communication was excellent, constant updates and pictures, and great care. You'll definitely be my sitter of choice when I'm in the area. Thank you!!”

“They took a great care of our dog and we appreciated their sincere love for our dog. They sent us many updates with photos every day we were away. I recommend them to anyone. Thank you very much for taking care of our dog like your own.”

“Ruby has stayed with Dickson a few times now and she is always thrilled to go back! She gets a lot of play time outside and on walks, and lots of cuddles when it's time to wind down. Dickson is very caring and attentive and handles her high energy like a pro. I have complete peace of mind knowing she's in terrific hands!”

About: I've been taking care of animals since I was 14, and they are part of my love language! I've taken care of and have had a wide variety of pets, dog sizes, and different medical needs. Part of my life's calling is to be with animals and give them all the love. We live on a 7-acre farmette, with land to roam and play, and forest as well. We have a barn that houses 23 free range chickens and ducks. These are also my pets who I love dearly. I have 2 cats, a brother and sister names George and Lucy who are total love bugs. My daughter Teagan is almost 6, and has been around animals since she was a baby. I am currently working full time, 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday. I work remotely from my house on Fridays. I am off on Saturday and Sunday all day. We live on a 7-acre farm in a two-story house with privacy. Our house has plenty of room to accommodate different dog sizes. Our acreage also provides plenty of room for dogs to run and play!
“Autumn has watched my dogs more than once and always does a great job! They clearly have a great time with her and she is very professional and experienced. I highly recommend Autumn for anyone looking for a dog sitter!”

Jessica was the perfect host for Atticus and very accommodating. We had a last minute work trip come up and she was willing to let us book lat minute. While in the trip I had to extend to another day and Jessica had no hesitation in allowing us to extend for an extra night! We are thankful for such a loving host and enjoyed the wonderful pictures through out his stay! Thank you for the amazing stay with Atticus.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
