“This is the second time I've used June and Wade. We had to add an additional day and thank goodness they were available! Another wonderful stay. Several pictures were sent. He really makes himself at home with them. Will definitely use them again!”

“Dorothy is amazing and we couldn’t recommend her enough. She took the time to get to know my pup and her needs, and sent many updates while we were away. We are happy to have found someone we trust so much!”

“Once again, Jessica and her family are the perfect hosts for my Bear. This is the third time he has stayed with him and I can tell he is getting the very best care I could possibly ask for. She’s great about sending pictures and letting me know how things are going. I can’t say enough about Jessica!”

“Carolyn could not have been more professional, caring or accommodating. First time Rover user and I think I struck gold. If I had to choose between Carolyn's services and a traditional bordering service, I'd choose Carolyn every time. I hope to use her services in the future.”

“This is the second time our dog has stayed with Derek. She returned happy and was well taken care of. It’s so nice to not have to worry about your dog while on vacation. Knowing she was in good hands was priceless. Thank you Derek!”

“Highly recommend Cheryl! She was very kind. She was an excellent communicator and responded immediately to my emails. She sent me daily updates with photos. I was able to enjoy my weekend away knowing my dog was safe and well cared for.”

“My puppy, Corey, stayed at Jackie's home for 6 days while I was on vacation. She sent a bunch of pictures, several each day. Corey did not have to be leashed during his stay much at all, because Jackie has a beautiful fenced in backyard. I feel incredibly grateful to have found her on Rover. I could tell from the pictures that Corey was having so much fun and was in very capable hands. I was able to totally enjoy my vacation. Thank you so much, Jackie!”

“Melynda did such a great ?? job taking care of my dogs, that I almost think they wanted to stay. She’s reliable, reasonably priced, and genuinely loves dogs. I totally recommend her but will be disappointed if she’s so over booked that I can get her to take my dogs ?! Thank you Melynda!”

“Michelle was the best sitter we could ever dreamed of ! She has an amazing personality and a huge heart for dogs. That was a first time we left our Jax with the sitter, and he came back as happy as he can be , and even a little spoiled 😊. Michelle is very knowledgeable and detailed oriented, and she always follows your home routine. She treats every dog like her own , and gives them a lot of attention. The best sitter ever!”

“Jacqueline & Uriel C. were super nice and my dog was happy staying at theirs. They sent updates on how my dog was doing and I will definitely book with them again :)”

“We are so glad to have found Carla! She watched our beloved Bernese Mountain Dog for 10 days and he was so well cared for and loved by her family. It was so nice knowing he was in a happy and loving home while we were away. He had lots of outdoor exercise and play time with Carla’s two pups. She was also very communicative and sent lots of pics and videos, which was much appreciated. Carla was also super flexible when our flight was delayed and we got into town late. We’ll definitely be contacting her again next time we need a sitter!”

“Shauna and Peter were amazing! The reviews are all accurate and I'm so glad we found them. They took such good care of our puppy and sent us daily updates (photos and videos). The whole process was super easy and we were worried since this was our first time using Rover. When we picked up our puppy all his stuff was packed nicely and he was waiting for us at the front, ready and fed. We couldn't believe how great this app is and the loving families who opened up their home to our fur baby. Thank you Shauna and Peter for taking such good care of Leo.”

“Tricia was awesome! Her dogs are so cute & you can tell she really loves animals as this is all she does so her main priority is your babies. We got so many texts while we were away which we thought was amazing. Knowing our babies were happy & doing good made us feel really good about leaving them with her. They loved her & she loved them too & my little Bella was super tired when we got her back and napping all night which was such a relief. We can’t wait to have them stay with her again and I’m sure they’ll be excited too!”

“Niratcha has been great. Very informative, sent me pictures and videos daily, I truly felt so comfortable leaving Kahu with this family. Highly recommend, and will definitely be back next time ?”

“Jorge and family are wonderful people! Stanley had a great time and was well taken care of. Jorge’s home is perfectly suited for our dog’s needs and we will definitely be back when needed in the future. Thank you!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Algonquin
Derek is an outstanding sitter. I trust him and his family to care for my dog Bear whenever we are out of town and I know Bear loves spending time with them. I love the updates and picture Derek sends to keep me posted how Bear is doing. I would highly recommend Derek as a sitter.

Knight loves staying at June's. June is one of Knight's favorite people and as a bonus, Knight also gets to play with Cookie. My husband and I know that Knight was safe and well taken care of. Knight came home relaxed and happy! Booking another boarding request for August :)

Dorothy was wonderful to work with. The communication was great and I was very comfortable leaving my dog in her care, I highly recommend her! I've had other sitters and it was normal for my dog to be stressed out and not eat food for a day or two. Much to my surprise, my dog ate normally right from the start which is a huge testament to how well Dorothy nurtured her and helped her relax.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
