Dog lover with large fenced yard
First and foremost, your dog will be the only boarding client at our home at a given time. We do not take on multiple dogs and keep them in a kennel like environment. Your dogs will be a part of our family and given unlimited love. My wife and I have had dogs our whole lives. They are part of our identity. Since we have been married we have had 3 labs. Jake our first was a chocolate lab, then came Moose also a chocolate. Unfortunately Jake and Moose are no longer with us but we do have Ellie (our sweetheart Yellow). She is super loving and misses her buddy Moose and would love a new friend to visit. We have been watching friends and families dogs for several years and ready to make the move official to Rover. We have a large fenced yard and lots of love to give.

Derek and his family are truly the best! We know June is getting lots of love and attention when on vacation. Their pup makes an awesome playmate which we love!
Derek is an outstanding sitter. I trust him and his family to care for my dog Bear whenever we are out of town and I know Bear loves spending time with them. I love the updates and picture Derek sends to keep me posted how Bear is doing. I would highly recommend Derek as a sitter.
We couldn’t be happier about the care our greyhound Steely Dan received from Derek and his family while we were on a 3-week vacation. During the time we were away we regularly received updates and photos that assured us Steely was being made to feel at home. Derek has a large dog, Ellie, who is quite friendly, and there were no issues with Steely and Ellie spending time together. Steely is sensitive to thunderstorms, and the meds we provided were administered appropriately with no issues. Finally, when we picked Steely up, he seemed relaxed and content. We always felt confident he was in exceedingly capable hands.
Derek and his family are always our first pick when we know we are heading out of town. We love that they have a fenced in backyard and that June has a playmate while there. Most importantly, we never worry about June while we are away with Derek and his family.
Such a wonderful and trustworthy place to board your fur baby! I highly recommend boarding your dog in this loving home! Derek and family (including Ellie) couldn’t be nicer.
I originally took my 3 yr old rescue pittie, Canela, for a meet and greet at a local boarding facility. They did not leave a good impression, and Canela hated it. Then I checked Rover and found Derek. It was a no brainer to have her stay with Derek's family (instead of in a sad kennel with who knows what kind of attention), and the cost was about the same. He's been caring for dogs through Rover for a while and fully explained how things would go for the meet and greet, dropping her off, and picking her up. With Derek, Canela was treated as a member of his family. I got daily updates and pictures, and a video of her playing with their sweet dog, Ellie. I couldn't ask for a better first experience, and I will definitely seek out Derek the next time we find ourselves needing pet care.

Schedule
I work from home and my schedule allows me to be attentive to your dogs needs. I take my dog (and visiting dogs) for walks twice a day to get exercise. My HS son also loves dogs and will chip in and help play with the dogs. Your dog will have full access to our home and we will treat it as one of our own.

Safety, trust & environment
Safety is critical to our family. We have a large fenced yard so you dog has full run of the yard to explore. We have our own dog (Ellie) that is super friendly and loves other dogs. I am open to crating your dog if that is something you request. If not, they would be a member of our family. At the current time, we only watch one dog from a family at a time (with the exception of siblings from the same family). This allows us to make sure all personalities mesh well and all dogs are happy!
Pets
A typical day
Your dogs days will be filled with lots of love and daily walks. We love to walk around the neighborhood and nearby communities. If your dog is a good retriever, we have countless amounts of balls that we can use to exercise and get them working on their retrieving skills. We also have lots of Kongs and other toys to keep them intellectually stimulated.
