I am retired and available everyday of the week to walk or check in and visit your pets. I follow a routine with my two dogs and know how important quality, daily care is to the health of a pet. I also provide home sitting services where I can check on your pets several times a day and spend time with them while they remain in their own home, but I'm not able to spend the night.

I walk my own dogs 3-4 times a day and they have consistent eating times. I find routine helps dogs and cats know what to expect and feel safe in their environment. I spend a lot of time outside with my dogs so they get plenty of good smells, exercise and stimulation.

Any routine or steps that help the animal be more comfortable please let me know so I can be sure to incorporate these into my visit. Each animal has their own personality and needs and I respect that after having had three rescues myself, all of which had very different needs to feel happy and secure.
A typical day
Each pet owner has their unique ways to care for their animal and I can follow through on any instructions that are intended to provide the best care while the owner is away. I can exercise, play with toys or just provide affection.

Pet care experience
I grew up with a dog and have had my own dogs the last 13 years. I love being around dogs and cats and understand how important it is for them to follow the routine they are used to. For dogs being outside walking and exercising and smelling their world for stimulation is so important. Cats needs stimulation and affection and attention. I also know the value of having trusted pet care as I have used Rover when I traveled and couldn’t take my dogs with me. I volunteer weekly at a local pet shelter walking, loving and cleaning up after puppies and dogs of all kinds and sizes so I can appreciate all kinds of dogs.

Janet was amazing! This was the first time we were leaving our pup in our home after moving here. We could tell at our meet and greet that she loved animals and would be great. During visits she took such good care of our dog and provided such detailed summaries of visits. Long walks, rolling in the grass and just cuddling were just a few activities. From pictures she included we could see everything was better than great in our pup’s world. When we returned, our pup was remarkably less stressed than when we’ve left her in the past. She also took great care in watering our flowers. We will use Janet again in a heartbeat and can’t say enough positive things about her!
Janet is our go-to Rover when it comes to caring for our pets. Always does an excellent job at giving them attention and care. She is an excellent communicator - highly recommended!
