“This was our second time booking with Alyssa, and we hope to have her back again! My cat loves her, she is reliable and communicative, and her updates always make me laugh!”

“Christine took such wonderful care of my 13 year old Newfie mix Punkie! As a large breed, Punkie has some health issues and Christine knew just how to care for her with short walks, gentle brushing and lots of love! Christine went above and beyond making sure all the tumbleweeds of hair were cleaned up before I got home. Such a joy to come home to clean floors and a happy dog! Thank you, Christine!”

“Dorothy was outstanding coming to our house to feed and let out our 2 dogs. She was great with the dogs, responds quickly to questions and sent many photos while we traveled out of state for a wedding. We trusted her and did not worry about our dogs. I would highly recommend her services.”

About: Animals have been a huge part of my life since I was young! I’ve had 5 dogs growing up and one of my very own into adulthood. I’ve also had 11 snakes, a guinea pig, and fish. I also currently have two of the best black cats in the world named Jasmine and Ozzy. I’ve pet sat since I was a young teen for family and friends. I have experience as well giving medications including insulin shots. I also have two of my own children and have a ton of experience with care and I’m so excited to meet your fur babies! I’m currently going to school for Respiratory Therapist! I am in person Monday and Wednesday from 8-5 but besides that I am free! I customize your pets experience to their owners requests and pets needs! Your fur babies will always get the most love and care. If your dog loves outdoors then I will spend time with them outside. If they love to just be cuddled with and a good belly scratch then I can provide that! I want to make your animals feel safe and loved!

About: I have had dogs, cats and pets of all types since childhood. Often referred to as “The chosen one” in my own home because of my relationship with our dog and cat. I am frequently asked to look after our neighbors dogs. Experienced at administering injections and IV fluids as well. I am recently retired and find myself with far more free time. Weekdays are a particularly good time for me to be available to care for animals I have a dog (Bandit) and a cat (Dublin) who are given love and attention to the point of being spoiled rotten. They are fed regularly and responsibly with the highly sought after treat from time to time. Walks are non negotiable for Bandit and both get a heavy dose of play time as well as some quality chill time together.
About: I have been around cats and dogs most of my life, and have had my own dogs for 10+ years. Right now I have three- a tiny Chihuahua, a medium Carolina mix, and a HUGE Rhodesian Ridgeback. I trained them myself and they are my whole world! I would be happy to work on some training with your dog, I really have a passion for it.💜 And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." Matthew 22:37 I work full-time, so I'm mostly available in the evenings. I am usually off on Sunday and Monday or Sunday and Friday so I have more time on those days. I can do whatever is required for each specific dog. I have no problem getting dogs in and out of crates, walking any size dog while working on leash manners if desired by the owner, feeding and playing, whatever your pup needs!
“This was the first time I was leaving half of my cats alone and one of them required daily medication. Rachael did an amazing job. I got thorough reports and a lot of photos, all of which really eased my anxiety. She was so communicative. Thank you again!”

About: I am experienced in administering medicinal injections, nail trimming and teeth brushing of larger breeds, lifting 60+ lbs, pad and potty training, and assisting senior and special needs dogs. I currently work remote and spend most of the day with my own pup by my side. We go to the nearby dog park at least weekly, go on two 20-25 minute walks (1mi+) daily, and play regularly throughout the day. He is very friendly and happy to tag along for any walks or play times, if the company is welcomed. I have a large crate available, if needed, and an in ground stake in the front and back yard with 30ft leads attached, allowing for plenty of time outside in shaded and unshaded areas. Food bowls are cleaned after every meal and pet waste is cleaned up after every trip outside.
“We’ve been using Doug as a pet sitter for a while now, and we highly recommend him. Doug is not only reliable but also genuinely enthusiastic about caring for our cats. We never have to worry about anything when they’re in his care. He ensures they get plenty of attention, including playtime and cuddles, which helps keep them happy while we’re away. Our cats require daily medication, and Doug handles this with ease, showing he’s comfortable with more complex care needs. I highly recommend his services to anyone—your pets will be in excellent hands, and you’ll have peace of mind knowing they’re well cared for.”

“We were so lucky to find Kaitlyn! She responded quickly and was able to take on the job with very short notice, which we really appreciated. From the start, her communication was incredible—she sent detailed updates every visit along with adorable photos and videos that gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Not only did she take great care of our cats, but she also went above and beyond by bringing in our packages and even cleaning up without us asking. It’s rare to find someone so thoughtful and thorough. We’ll absolutely be using Kaitlyn again and couldn’t recommend her more!”

“Samantha was great for taking care of Shelley while we went on a 4 day trip. She’s very knowledgeable on how to deal with our fur baby. We are gladly to recommend her to our friends in our neighborhood. She’s also on time to her schedule drop in visits. Thanks so much for an excellent job.”

About: Hello! I’m an animal lover from Chicago with a 5-year-old pup of my own, and I’d love to help care for your animals! I am extremely responsible and the most loving toward all furry family members. I make fast friends with all the ones I meet 😊 I believe exercise is essential for dogs and cats to thrive, so I’ll take your pup out on extra long walks and run around with the feather toy with your cats for as long as they want! I also have several years of experience with senior dogs, high-energy and reactive dogs, and those with special health needs. I’m also experienced with cats of all personalities as well as those with special health needs. And if you’re a bird lover like I am, I’m experienced with bird care as well! I’m so excited to meet you and your animal family members! I have a flexible work schedule, so with notice, I can assist with walks during weekdays. On weekends, I can be available for walking or visiting day or night! I am extremely respectful of others’ homes and leave it better than how I found it. I’ll take care to clean up after myself and your animals to take the stress off your plate.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cary. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
