“Nicole and Josh provide excellent care. We received messages and pictures throughout each day that our dog was in their care. They have a lovely house and nice fenced in backyard for the dogs to play. I highly recommend them and will definitely be back for future visits.”

“Denise was amazing! So incredibly great with my dogs. One of my dogs is just a nervous dog when she meets new people and she was so great with her. I was very scared leaving my babies for the first time and Denise made everything go smooth. Such a nice person! Cant say enough about how kind and caring she is. Thank you Denise!❤️”

“Katie was great with our lab Oscar! We went away for a long weekend and she treated him like her own. It was wonderful knowing he was in great hands and having a good time.”

“Courtney was so great to communicate with, very respon6and punctual. Definitely will call again any time we need a sitter. She is so great with our dogs and keeps us updated as we are away.”

“We left our Cooper (very last minute!) with Jennifer these past 3 days, and felt as if we left him with Family! Jennifer was so attentive to Cooper and every few hours she sent us pictures of him. It was truly a most wonderful experience, and Jennifer was a loving, caring and thoughtful host! So much gratitude to her and her beautiful family!!”

“Beth took fantastic care of our two standard poodles. Her backyard was poodle heaven. One of our spoods is pretty needy, and has some anxiety, but I didn’t worry for one moment knowing she was in Beth’s capable hands. Thank you Beth!”

“Caroline and her husband are pawfect dogsitters. They take good care of my dog. It's her 4th time with them. She knows them and is comfortable at their home. It put me at peace and I can trust them with my dog.”

“I went on vacation and needed a last min sitter. Andrea was able to take my dog for the 5 days. She was awesome! She even picked my dog up from doggy daycare when I was gone. I was happy my dog had her dogs to play with and that they got along. We had them meet each other before I left so that was very comforting. I found out my dog had very bad separation anxiety. She was so caring and slept on the couch with her so my dog didn't feel so alone! Andrea was very understanding when my dog had accidents because of her anxiety. I definitely will be using Andrea again on my future trips!”

“Shirley took great care of our two dogs ( 4yr old and 12yr old) while we were on vacation. They came home looking happy and we were thankful for the good care and ongoing photos and updates she was providing us with.”

“Bob (and his wife Kathy) could not have been more welcoming to our timid dog, Ruby! They treated her as if she was their own! They took her for rides and walks and even let her sleep on their bed! Received text message updates (with pictures!) throughout her stay! Put my mind completely at ease while we were away! We are so lucky to have found you! ”

“Peter provided a safe and happy place for our pet. He was responsive and communicated well. He kept us informed on how our dog was doing, including helpful and fun photos. Peter was easy to work with and we appreciated the one on one attention he gave to our dog. Having a nice fenced in yard as well as a quieter home, was helpful.”

“Jude was incredible with Sally and she had the time of her life. He was very responsive, prompt and took really great care of her. We would love to have Sally stay with him again in the future!”

“Fantastic sitter! Very responsible and straightforward. Communication was smooth and clear throughout the stay, and I appreciated getting daily photo updates. I felt completely at ease knowing my dog was in great hands. Highly recommend!”

About: I’m a newly retired teacher and former principal that loves my doggies! Over the years, I’ve had so much love from my very special friends. Would love to give and get some loves from your treasured family member. I literally live in the middle of Stratham Hill Park and I love to walk. Only one “little guy” at a time…🥰 I’m loving my retirement and have lots of time and love to give. I have some scheduled exercise classes in the mornings but always home by 10:30. I’ve had so many dogs over the years. Routine visits to the vet are mandatory and walking, playing, and interacting with my friends are essential. I’m also very familiar with dogs with anxiety. One needs to approach this in a calm and careful way and watch the signs for anxiety coming on and be able to respond with love and kindness. Living right in the middle of Stratham Hill Park, I have easy access to the walking trails. Because I don’t know your dog, they will never be off leash but will be outside often during the day!! I love to walk. 🥰 I have a lovely crate IF your dog prefers this quiet space, but I will not be crating unless you ask me to. Typically my 11 year old grandson will come by after school to snuggle, play and go for a walk with me and your pup!
About: I have had my dog for over 9 years. She is very good with others. I have a fenced in backyard, and a doggy door of the screened porch. When we are home during the day in good temperatures, the door to the house will be open giving dogs the freedom of where they want to relax or play. I am currently a stay at home Mom to my wonderful twins therefore I have a pretty flexible schedule I can work around, especially if it avoid the kids naps. I have a fenced in backyard that is connected to the house via a screened in porch so there are many options of where to hang out. At night everyone is inside.
About: I love to make sure your babies are happy, safe and comfortable so that you can enjoy your time away without worry! FaceTime, texts and consistent communication is what makes me your best choice! Former special educator, patience is my virtue! Weekday social worker, so I’m off on weekends routinely, which coincides with families wanting some getaway time. Occasionally available weeknights for walks and drop ins. Weekends are more flexible, and I’m usually available AM/PM or both. Looking to begin boarding in the Fall 2025 Primarily, I can come to your house for care. Occasionally, happily ready to provide care in my home for dogs on weekends. Walking trails and small yard. Other dogs are plentiful here, I will always keep your dog leashed at all times. I’m not against an occasional pup cup trip but have also respected gluten free diets as well.
“Diana was absolutely amazing with Nash! I can’t wait to use her services again! Nash went on plenty of walks her property is a dogs heaven. She sent so many pictures and updates! Truly the best possible experience!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Kittery
We have booked Ashley two times now. We have an Australian Shepherd who is very energetic and has separation anxiety from his family. We have typically boarded him with a more traditional kennel in the past. He would leave his time there with no voice, because he was barking the whole time, and very anxious. When we made the switch to Ashley, his entire experience has changed! He is going on hikes and spending time with his new friends and when we pick him up he is exhausted from all of his adventures. We get frequent updates with pictures and videos so we can see how much fun he is having. As his human, I would feel bad for our boy when we would leave him at the traditional, but now when we leave him with Ashley I know he is going to have a good experience and the care and attention he deserves when we are out of town. If you are on the fence about boarding with Ashley, don’t be!

Diamond was absolutely amazing with our dog, and we truly could not have asked for a better sitter. From the moment we met her, we felt completely at ease knowing our pup was in loving, caring, and responsible hands. She went above and beyond with updates, attention, and genuine care, and it was clear our dog was happy, comfortable, and well-loved the entire time. What really stood out was her kindness, patience, and professionalism. She treated our dog like family, and that means everything to us. Coming home to a happy, relaxed pup says it all. We are beyond grateful for Diamond and would trust her again in a heartbeat. If you are looking for someone dependable, compassionate, and truly wonderful with animals, Diamond is the one. We would absolutely love to book with her again in the future!

Our dog Jilly had THE BEST time with Sheila and her dog Dakota. Sheila was so thoughtful of Jilly and what would make her the most comfortable and relaxed. She took her on trail walks each day, she gave her treats and made a fire for her to snuggle up to. We were able to relax on our vacation knowing that Jilly was in such great hands. We wholeheartedly recommend her!

This was our first time boarding with Alyssa and her family. I could tell from our initial meet-and-greet that our golden would love his time with them -- and he did! During his stay, Alyssa checked in on things she wasn't sure about and sent pictures and videos of his walks, snuggles with family, and trips to parks. I could tell our boy was a happy camper! Being assured he was in good hands made it a lot easier to enjoy our time away. Highly recommend and would definitely rebook!
They took great care of my little Maya for two weeks, accepting the booking mere days before my trip. They were pleasant, professional, and provided many updates that all reflected my happy, and comfortable little girl. I wouldn't hesitate to rebook with them again in the future. Thank you!

Mack and Dennis had their very first Rover sleep-away with James, and they were welcomed with open arms by his whole family. Everyone was so sweet and hospitable, and his little girl gave them plenty of cuddles, which they absolutely loved. James was incredibly easy to work with. He was responsive, flexible, and genuinely accommodating. I felt completely at ease knowing my boys were in such a warm, caring home. I would absolutely recommend James to anyone looking for a trustworthy, family-oriented sitter. We will happily book with him again.

We were on a waiting list for over a year to bring home our puppy. It just so happened that he was ready to come home just a few weeks before our wedding! Ally was a lifesaver taking our puppy, Banner for our wedding weekend! She was incredibly friendly, communicative, and caring. It’s obvious she is an animal lover. We felt very confident that our boy was in good hands and were able to enjoy our wedding stress free. Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ME ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
