“Mike and Linda took amazing care of our dog, Sunny!! She played in the yard, went on walks, and snuggled right up on the couch. We do not go away often so this experience was new to Sunny but they made her feel like she was at home. We are so grateful and will certainly request Mike again!!”

“Josh and Nicole were amazing and our pup loved staying with them! They took great care of her and sent us lots of pictures during her stay. We could tell she was very comfortable at their house and did not want to leave! Thank you so much Josh and Nicole!”

“Felicia was absolutely incredible with Luna. She took her on so many great walks. Sent pics of Luna snuggled up on her couch. Luna came back so happy but wiped after the couple of busy and active days with Felicia. Luna is already looking forward to her next stay! Would highly recommend Felicia - she was so awesome, highly communicative and took amazing care of Luna🐾”

“Denise was great! She sent me lots of photos and videos of my dog, and he was clearly well cared for and enjoying himself. She has two sweet dogs herself and it was a wonderful environment.”

“Kristin & James were absolutely wonderful for our two dogs. They accommodated a last minute booking for two. We received so many wonderful photos of our pups adventure. If you are looking for an amazing place for your dogs definitely consider Kristin and James! We are so thankful!”

“We are so happy with Nicole looking after our two boys! The care and attention they get at Nicole's home is fantastic, and it gives us such a comfort that we know when we are away, there couldn't be anywhere better for our guys to be. They love it, and are so much at home. Highly recommend Nicole!! Thank you very much Nicole!”

“Katie, is fantastic I receive updates and photos of my animals through out the time I was away. Plus she always, speaks with me regarding how they did while there. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to feel secure in the person watching their babies. PS Daisy and Boy love Katie”

“Highly recommend! Andrea was an awesome host and I would definitely book with her again. I got lots of photos of Yoshi and updates about how he was doing. She even took the time to de-shed his bed before sending it home, which I wasn't expecting.”

“This was our first time leaving our dog with Bob. And it was the first time that our dog did not look stressed when I dropped her off and left! I was amazed. Maisie just seemed to know that he was caring and confident and she was in good hands. I think she very much liked playing with his own dogs since she is the only dog in our home. Bob clearly loves animals and was also sensitive to Maisie's needs. Maisie is a lap dog and Bob and his wife allowed her to snuggle up to them for reassurance. Bob is a personable individual and easy to talk. I would highly recommend him to anyone!”

“Katherine is wonderful and our first pick of anyone to watch our dog Arrow. Even when he gives her a little trouble (like a bout of diarrhea), Katherine handles it in stride and is a great person to trust with your pup.”

About: I’m a newly retired teacher and former principal that loves my doggies! Over the years, I’ve had so much love from my very special friends. Would love to give and get some loves from your treasured family member. I literally live in the middle of Stratham Hill Park and I love to walk. Only one “little guy” at a time…🥰 I’m loving my retirement and have lots of time and love to give. I have some scheduled exercise classes in the mornings but always home by 10:30. I’ve had so many dogs over the years. Routine visits to the vet are mandatory and walking, playing, and interacting with my friends are essential. I’m also very familiar with dogs with anxiety. One needs to approach this in a calm and careful way and watch the signs for anxiety coming on and be able to respond with love and kindness. Living right in the middle of Stratham Hill Park, I have easy access to the walking trails. Because I don’t know your dog, they will never be off leash but will be outside often during the day!! I love to walk. 🥰 I have a lovely crate IF your dog prefers this quiet space, but I will not be crating unless you ask me to. Typically my 11 year old grandson will come by after school to snuggle, play and go for a walk with me and your pup!
“Caroline and Gerry took wonderful care of Coda. They were friendly and thoughtful and very willing to help when my original flight was cancelled. It was great to have peace of mind that he was in such great hands.”

“Our pup Lucy had the best time with Adelle. She went on plenty of walks and tons of play. Adelle was very responsive and easy to coordinate with and gave plenty of updates and photos! Lucy can't wait to stay with Adelle again!”

“Jude was so great to work with. He always responded to my questions very quickly. Bronson had the best time with Jude and his family! I definitely felt very comfortable leaving Bronson with them. He came home exhausted!! And he made a new friend with their dog, Sammy. I definitely will be bringing Bronson back!! Thank you for treating my dog like family.”

“Diana was absolutely amazing with Nash! I can’t wait to use her services again! Nash went on plenty of walks her property is a dogs heaven. She sent so many pictures and updates! Truly the best possible experience!”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Krystyna & Sara G. were absolutely amazing with my mini Goldendoodle, Hazel! From the moment I dropped her off, I knew she was in caring and capable hands. They provided excellent communication throughout her stay, including updates and photos that gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. Hazel came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. It was obvious that Krystyna and Sara treated her like part of their family, giving her plenty of attention, affection, and care. They went above and beyond to make sure all of her needs were met and that she felt comfortable and loved. I would highly recommend Krystyna & Sara G. to anyone looking for trustworthy, responsible, and compassionate pet sitters. Thank you both for taking such wonderful care of Hazel—I will definitely be booking with you again! 🐾❤️”

“Wowza!!!! Janice is amazing! Not only did she provide tender loving care for our dog, Pasquale, but she was sooooo accommodating when our flights were changed last minute. We could not have found a better match for our needs. We love Janice….XO😘”
“Cecilia was so great with Luna! Understanding of special needs for anxiety/separation issues was not only able to accommodate my last minute request for day care, but fit in a meet and greet a day ahead to help Luna get comfortable with her and go over any needs. She went the extra mile staying late when I hit delays with work meetings and traffic, and was great with respecting limits and engaging Luna on her level for her intro sit, and reading dog behavior. I am picky about who I entrust my dog with, and I felt immediately comfortable with Cecilia on first meet. She demonstrated her care and professionalism from the start ~ asking the right pre-sit questions, clearly communicating, and providing regular updates while I was away. Really helped ease my mind and allow me to focus on the work I needed to do. I hope to continue with her as a regular sitter for Luna when we need someone!”

Dotty enjoyed her stay with Kane and Colette, she came home just as happy as she was when she started her stay. Being an anxious pup I was worried she would have a hard time settling but the sitters knew exactly how to handle her and acclimate her to the other dogs in the home. 10/10 experience, no issues no complaints. If we take a vacation to New England again and she needs somewhere to stay they’ll be the first people I reach out to.

Kelsey was very accommodating of my dog Nemo, who isn't always a fan of other dogs, so she made sure he was the only dog staying with her at the time! She was very communicative as well and sent many photos, which was much appreciated. I definitely recommend Kelsey to care for your pets while you are away!

Diamond was absolutely amazing with our dog, and we truly could not have asked for a better sitter. From the moment we met her, we felt completely at ease knowing our pup was in loving, caring, and responsible hands. She went above and beyond with updates, attention, and genuine care, and it was clear our dog was happy, comfortable, and well-loved the entire time. What really stood out was her kindness, patience, and professionalism. She treated our dog like family, and that means everything to us. Coming home to a happy, relaxed pup says it all. We are beyond grateful for Diamond and would trust her again in a heartbeat. If you are looking for someone dependable, compassionate, and truly wonderful with animals, Diamond is the one. We would absolutely love to book with her again in the future!

Our dog Jilly had THE BEST time with Sheila and her dog Dakota. Sheila was so thoughtful of Jilly and what would make her the most comfortable and relaxed. She took her on trail walks each day, she gave her treats and made a fire for her to snuggle up to. We were able to relax on our vacation knowing that Jilly was in such great hands. We wholeheartedly recommend her!

This was our first time boarding with Alyssa and her family. I could tell from our initial meet-and-greet that our golden would love his time with them -- and he did! During his stay, Alyssa checked in on things she wasn't sure about and sent pictures and videos of his walks, snuggles with family, and trips to parks. I could tell our boy was a happy camper! Being assured he was in good hands made it a lot easier to enjoy our time away. Highly recommend and would definitely rebook!
They took great care of my little Maya for two weeks, accepting the booking mere days before my trip. They were pleasant, professional, and provided many updates that all reflected my happy, and comfortable little girl. I wouldn't hesitate to rebook with them again in the future. Thank you!

Mack and Dennis had their very first Rover sleep-away with James, and they were welcomed with open arms by his whole family. Everyone was so sweet and hospitable, and his little girl gave them plenty of cuddles, which they absolutely loved. James was incredibly easy to work with. He was responsive, flexible, and genuinely accommodating. I felt completely at ease knowing my boys were in such a warm, caring home. I would absolutely recommend James to anyone looking for a trustworthy, family-oriented sitter. We will happily book with him again.

We were on a waiting list for over a year to bring home our puppy. It just so happened that he was ready to come home just a few weeks before our wedding! Ally was a lifesaver taking our puppy, Banner for our wedding weekend! She was incredibly friendly, communicative, and caring. It’s obvious she is an animal lover. We felt very confident that our boy was in good hands and were able to enjoy our wedding stress free. Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ME ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
