I love and respect all animals. I personally have had 20+ pets, ranging from mice, birds, cats, reptiles, horses and most of all dogs. Our whole family, fully understands dogs of all types and sizes. We also understand the importance of listening to pet owners and their needs or wishes. We believe in providing the safest experience for the owners, and everyone's pet. We are open to personal ideas, techniques and tricks, that our customers prefer or recommend for their pets. We know owners want what's best for their pet, regardless of our experience or our opinion, we make the best decisions for any group, but do give special attention, if it is needed. Some pets just need a little extra protection or encouragement.

Unfortunately, our experience was not what I expected from a Rover stay, especially for a two-week booking. Before the stay, I understood that there would be two other dogs in the home. Based on the photos I received, there appeared to be upwards of six dogs there at times. I am also a Rover sitter myself, and my expectation of Rover is a more personal, in-home boarding experience with individualized care. This felt much more like high-volume boarding. I would encourage future owners to specifically ask how many dogs may be staying at one time so they know what to expect. Communication was also difficult. I had asked at the beginning of the stay for regular updates, but I frequently had to reach out and ask for them and when I didn’t ask I didn’t hear from them for days. Most of the photos I received showed my dog in the same room, and I never saw photos of her outside or playing with toys. When she was returned to me, her hygiene also appeared to have been neglected. She is a French Bulldog and needs some basic cleaning around her rear, and she came home noticeably dirty. I also provided medication that was never given, and her eye wipes and fold wipes were returned unused. One of the difficult parts of a long boarding stay is that you do not necessarily feel comfortable raising every concern in real time while your dog is still in someone else’s care. Because she was there for two weeks, I chose to wait until she was safely home before sharing my full feedback. As a Rover sitter myself, this simply was not the level of care, communication, or attention I would expect to provide to someone else’s dog. A higher-volume boarding setup may work perfectly well for some owners, but that was not how the stay was presented to me and was not the experience I believed I was booking.

Rosie had a great stay with Kane and Colette over the long weekend! She seemed happy and comfortable, and we felt confident that she was well cared for. We also loved that she had other dogs to spend time with. We would definitely book with Kane and Colette again!
