“You can always count on Michael for your pets needs! He has helped us look after our cat and dog numerous times while we were out of town/state! He always makes sure they are fed and watered, and even brought in a package for us that was left while we were gone! Cannot recommend him enough!”

About: I’ve cared for cats, dogs and all sorts of other animals for years and love doing it and just being with the animals bring me such joy. I’d love to help people by doing the thing I love! I’m currently busy from 8-3:30 Monday through Friday except for special occasions. I love walking dogs on beaches and on trails and give them lots of spots to sniff! I have a dog and cat at home so I know how to care for animals of all shapes and sizes! My dog is a pitbull mix so I have training in bigger dogs and he is highly well trained!
“Kristen was super responsive and flexible and did a great job caring for my puppy! She went above and beyond and I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for reliable pet care in the Portsmouth area!”

“Tati is great! She is very communicative throughout the whole process and answers quickly. She makes sure my dog is happy and comfortable on their walks. My dog loves her!”

“Talia is so prompt, responsive, and obviously loves dogs. Togo’s tail was wagging as soon as he saw her. Talia managed to squeeze us in on a sick day for me, which I really appreciate. Now Togo is worn out and ready for his afternoon nap. Thanks so much, Talia!”

“Justina was GREAT with our dog LC. We hired her for daily walks and she provided great exercise and company for our pup. She sent updates and photos. We will use her again! Thank you Justina!”

“Charley is absolutely fantastic! She is incredibly kind, considerate, communicative, and clearly cares about the dogs she looks after. She truly goes above and beyond, including taking my pup to off-leash dog parks when requested, and even going as far as Pierce Island, which is my dog’s FAVORITE place! I regularly work 10–12 hour days, and I can genuinely see a difference in my dog’s mood when I come home after she’s spent time with Charley. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing she’s getting attention, exercise, and plenty of fun while I’m working. Charley is also wonderful with last-minute bookings and is always so accommodating. I couldn’t recommend her more highly. My pup absolutely loves her, and I’m so grateful to have someone I trust to take such great care of her! 🐾❤️”

About: Hi! I'm Marena—a lifelong animal lover and caretaker. I began dog and cat sitting at a very young age, and actively volunteering for animal rescues and farm sanctuaries in 2016. From socializing shelter puppies to shearing sheep, administering medication to llamas, and filing pig tusks, I've loved it all! I enjoy getting to know all sorts of personalities—from the active and boisterous, to the more reserved or anxious—my awareness of animal behavior allows me to provide the most positive and comfortable experience for your pet. In my free time I love bringing my dog, Lucy, for long walks on the beach (her favorite!) and exploring the outdoors. I'm currently a volunteer at the Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals, and a member of the Animal Rescue Team for the Humane Society of the United States. I have experience in pet first aid/CPR, basic obedience training, canine enrichment (agility work, nose work), and emergency response. I earned a certificate in Large Animal Emergency Rescue in June 2023 and am currently working toward certification in the Masterson Method of equine bodywork to relieve stress and tension in horses. I look forward to meeting you and getting to know your animals! Thank you! I’m currently a freelance graphic designer/creative strategist and am generally available on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Mondays and Wednesdays are possibilities if given enough notice. Before booking a new client, I request that we schedule an in-person meet and greet. This makes it easier to build trust, as not all animals are instantly at ease with an unfamiliar person in their home. It also helps me learn specific details pertaining to my visit. I try to match your pet's routine as best as possible. This means learning what time they're used to eating, what their favorite activities or toys are, and any other preferences they may have. Overall, I strive to care for clients' pets as I do my own animals. This means lots of love, pictures, and regular updates to ensure you know how they're doing. And, as a guest in your home, I promise to leave everything as orderly and clean as it was when I arrived!
About: I have had a variety of animals all my life and currently have a cat and dog! I’m a fast walker, and used to dogs that pull on the leash. I am currently a stay at home mom so I have plenty of time throughout the day to care for animals. I am a very outdoorsy person, so we are always outside with our hound, Pippin. I have a small fenced in yard, a young playful dog with LOADS of energy, and a convenient walking trail seconds from my back door!

“Willow is a little hesitant with new people but Patrick took the time to gain her trust. I appreciate the photos and updates after each visit and he was on board with all of willows needs!”

“Cody was wonderful with our elderly dog, Amelia. So kind and thoughtful, ready to research our particular issues. I highly recommend her, and I will be sure to remember her if I need help in the future. Thank you Cody!! Lisa A.”

About: I’ve been pet sitting for about 3 years and have experience taking care of both dogs and cats. I’ve helped friends, family, and other pet owners with feeding, walks, playtime, drop-in visits, and making sure their pets are comfortable and cared for while they’re away. I’ve always loved animals and I treat every pet like they’re my own! I’m currently in college working towards my associate degree in Veterinary Technology, and I also work part-time. My schedule can change depending on school and work, but I keep my Rover availability updated. I make sure I have enough time to give every pet the attention and care they need. I always make sure the pets I’m watching are safe and comfortable. I follow any instructions the owner gives me and try to keep the pet’s normal routine as much as possible. I also respect your home and make sure everything is safe and secure before I leave.
About: Hi! Heya! Hello! Are you looking for someone to care for your pet while your away? Well you've found them! Fun, energetic animal lover who can't wait to meet your pet! Drop-ins and Walking! Volunteer work with B.A.R.K, S.P.C.A, as well as experience working as a kennel assistant at Holiday Barn Pet Resort. Why I love dog sitting? I've always gravitated towards animals; I was that kid who brought home any animal that crossed my path, feeding strays, foresting. Growing up in a home where the pet to human ratio always favored pets, pet sitting is second nature to me. My experience administering medication I've done my fair share of administering medication to all sorts of animals. I am able to administer oral, injections, topical ointments, as well as suppositories. I currently work a dual remote position at NHPBS and have the flexibility to work from home which allows me ample time to provide the attention and care your pet requires. I’ll be an extension of your home and care. The goal is to provide a safe environment where your pet feels loved and has an enjoyable stay until your return.
About: Hi there — I’m a dedicated, experienced pet sitter with 10+ years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, breeds, sizes, and personalities. I truly believe there’s no “one-size-fits-all” approach when it comes to our pets—every dog has their own routines, quirks, comfort levels, and needs, and I love taking the time to get to know what makes your pup feel safe, happy, and at home. Whether your dog is high-energy and playful, shy and cautious, older and in need of a slower pace, or has specific behavioral or medical needs, communication is everything. Please share any concerns, routines, triggers, fears, or special requests ahead of time—we’ll work together to make their stay as stress-free and personalized as possible. My home offers a large yard for supervised outdoor time, plenty of love, structure, and attention. I’m also a mom to two amazing kids (ages 5 and 7) who have been raised around animals and are very respectful of pet boundaries, body language, and personal space. For overnight stays, I do recommend bringing your dog’s crate if they’re crate-trained or may need a familiar, secure space for bedtime or decompression. My goal is simple: for your dog to feel safe, understood, and genuinely cared for—while you have peace of mind knowing they’re in loving, experienced hands. I’d love to meet your pup! 🐾 I can do overnights Wednesday Thursday and Fridays! Just reach out to me, schedule updated weekly for other services - overnights stay the same. Thanks! Your pet - your rules! I can play, snuggle, walk, feed, bathe your pet. I can crate your pet if requested. What you say goes!
About: Volunteered at a humane society for a few years in high school and owned too many pets my whole life. Ive done dogs, cats, bunnies, and they lived a long time and were very happy and healthy. I use the awful baby voice on every pet and can't help it. I am working as an assistant manager at Buffalo Wild Wings after a job lay off, I am in the design field! My hours can range, sometimes I do have to close at 1am but if 2 visits a day were needed, I would be honest about the time I would be able to care for your pet. I take what the pet parent says very seriously, does not matter how I care for my own babies it's how you care for yours. I am very open to being very communicative or just a few check ins if wanted!

Fern did an amazing job with my anxious senior dog, Cookie. She walked Cookie from mid-July to mid-September, 2025, often daily. She was patient and helped problem solve how to have Cookie feel at ease. She built trust quickly, paid attention Cookie's patterns, followed a consistent schedule, and welcomed the cat as a bonus guest to the daily visits :) Fern was responsive, prompt, communicative and accurate in her updates. She has my highest recommendation and I would jump at the chance to have Fern work with our pet family members again. ~Audra

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
