“Joshua, you were fantastic with my dog Slippy for the full 10 days. From the very beginning, I could tell how much care and attention you gave him. The regular updates and sweet photos meant the world to me and let me truly relax on my trip. Slippy came home happy, energetic, and clearly well-loved. I so grateful for everything you did. Thank you so much, Joshua — I would happily trust you with Slippy again anytime!”

““Kate was amazing” is an understatement. Our dog can be a bit of a handful, but she and Kate seemed to get along amazingly! Kate was incredibly flexible with travel issues and sent so many great pics showing how spoiled and snuggled our dog was at her house!”

“Bob and Kathy made me feel comfortable leaving my Bella with them the first minute I was there. Every time I was thinking of Bella, Bob sent me many pictures and let me know how she was doing. I was looking for another “home” where I felt comfortable dropping Bella off when I went on weekend getaways and vacations. I definitely think I found it with Bob and Kathy.❤️”
“I cannot speak more highly of Eric and his sweet family! They kept my dog while I had a week long work event in Boston, and they took fantastic care of her. They sent me regular photos and they promptly answered any nervous mama questions I sent their way. We were worried about her getting spooked by the fireworks over the holiday weekend, and Eric and his fam took lots of precaution to make sure she was safe and happy. The pups that live with them are sweet and they got along great with my dog. I will be booking with them again if we're ever in the area!”

“Felicia took great care of my Bernese Mountain Dog, Bailey, during her overnight stay. She was very flexible, easy to communicate with, and made the whole experience stress-free. I had no complaints and would definitely trust her with Bailey again!”

“Denise was amazing! So incredibly great with my dogs. One of my dogs is just a nervous dog when she meets new people and she was so great with her. I was very scared leaving my babies for the first time and Denise made everything go smooth. Such a nice person! Cant say enough about how kind and caring she is. Thank you Denise!❤️”

“Diamond took such great care of our dog Maple! He's sometimes a little anxious but he was completely at home there. Diamond sent frequent photo updates and even took him to work with her. We'll definitely be dropping him off here again the next time we go away.”

“Mack and Dennis had their very first Rover sleep-away with James, and they were welcomed with open arms by his whole family. Everyone was so sweet and hospitable, and his little girl gave them plenty of cuddles, which they absolutely loved. James was incredibly easy to work with. He was responsive, flexible, and genuinely accommodating. I felt completely at ease knowing my boys were in such a warm, caring home. I would absolutely recommend James to anyone looking for a trustworthy, family-oriented sitter. We will happily book with him again.”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Krystyna & Sara G. were absolutely amazing with my mini Goldendoodle, Hazel! From the moment I dropped her off, I knew she was in caring and capable hands. They provided excellent communication throughout her stay, including updates and photos that gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. “Becky was great. She accepted the booking quickly and communicated well throughout. The photos showed a group of very happy dogs - these are some of my favorite photos of my little guy. My dog can't bear to be left alone and is a sweet but insistent snuggler. He also gets the zoomies when he is nervous. She welcomed him with open arms and settled him quickly. She was sorry to see him leave, but he will definitely be back!”

“Karen was great with my 6 1/2 month old puppy that is a big boy and a lot to handle! He was happy when I picked him up and clearly well cared for. Will definitely use Karen going forward!”

About: I love to make sure your babies are happy, safe and comfortable so that you can enjoy your time away without worry! FaceTime, texts and consistent communication is what makes me your best choice! Former special educator, patience is my virtue! Weekday social worker, so I’m off on weekends routinely, which coincides with families wanting some getaway time. Occasionally available weeknights for walks and drop ins. Weekends are more flexible, and I’m usually available AM/PM or both. Looking to begin boarding in the Fall 2025 Primarily, I can come to your house for care. Occasionally, happily ready to provide care in my home for dogs on weekends. Walking trails and small yard. Other dogs are plentiful here, I will always keep your dog leashed at all times. I’m not against an occasional pup cup trip but have also respected gluten free diets as well.
“Nicole was a fantastic host for our fur baby. She was great at communicating before and during boarding. We got lots of great photos and updates. She was flexible with schedule changes we had due to flight delays and we think our pup had a great time!”

About: I’m a newly retired teacher and former principal that loves my doggies! Over the years, I’ve had so much love from my very special friends. Would love to give and get some loves from your treasured family member. I literally live in the middle of Stratham Hill Park and I love to walk. Only one “little guy” at a time…🥰 I’m loving my retirement and have lots of time and love to give. I have some scheduled exercise classes in the mornings but always home by 10:30. I’ve had so many dogs over the years. Routine visits to the vet are mandatory and walking, playing, and interacting with my friends are essential. I’m also very familiar with dogs with anxiety. One needs to approach this in a calm and careful way and watch the signs for anxiety coming on and be able to respond with love and kindness. Living right in the middle of Stratham Hill Park, I have easy access to the walking trails. Because I don’t know your dog, they will never be off leash but will be outside often during the day!! I love to walk. 🥰 I have a lovely crate IF your dog prefers this quiet space, but I will not be crating unless you ask me to. Typically my 11 year old grandson will come by after school to snuggle, play and go for a walk with me and your pup!
“I’ll start by saying that Sheila is the most wholesome and kind person and to top it all off she loves dogs. I’m new to NH and it was hard for me to think about leaving Maverick with anyone new, but the moment I met Sheila and Dakota all my worries went away. Sheila loved on Maverick like he was her own and provided me with consistent updates on his time with her. I couldn’t have asked for a better suited person to care for my dog during my trip. We will definitely be back and can’t thank Sheila enough!!”

“Our pup Lucy had the best time with Adelle. She went on plenty of walks and tons of play. Adelle was very responsive and easy to coordinate with and gave plenty of updates and photos! Lucy can't wait to stay with Adelle again!”

“Hannah and her family were really great at taking care of my pup! I really appreciate her communicativeness and her flexibility. I had no concerns while she was taking care of my dog and would absolutely use her again for future boarding needs!”

“Christina took such wonderful care of Milo and Ellie while we were away. She kept us at ease with regular updates and photos, which we truly appreciated. It was clear they were in great hands the entire time. Both dogs came home happy, relaxed, and well cared for. We would absolutely trust Christina again and highly recommend her”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Durham
We recently worked with Kassia to dog-sit our 4-year old dog, and it was a great experience! We set up a meet and greet so we could make sure that our generally fearful dog felt comfortable with Kassia. Kassia clearly has a lot of experience working with animals, and was so kind to our dog, who quickly became excited to be around Kassia. Our dog also had an injury, which Kassia worked with us to make sure all meds and instructions were followed while we were gone. We were so happy with how Kassia communicated in the lead up to, and during her weekend dog-sitting for us. We would love to work with Kassia again in the future, and are very grateful that she took such amazing care of our pup!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
