About: After saying goodbye last year to my sweet 16-year-old pit terrier and 14-year-old lab mix, my home has been empty. While I have no plans for another long-term compaion, I'm looking to provide my love and attention to your fur baby instead! I provide 24/7 care in my own - I provide a safe and loving home for a day visit and overnight stays. Your fur pup(s) are the only pups in our home during the length of the stay. 🏡 Relaxing open environment 🌳 2-acre yard for lots of running and play 👨‍👩‍👧 Kid-friendly home 🐶 Tons of attention, playtime, and snuggles with 24/7 care 💊 Comfortable giving medications & following special feeding routines 💛 Experienced attentive care For safety, dogs must be well-mannered, kid-friendly, and up to date on vaccinations. If your pup needs a loving place to stay, send me a message for more details — we’d be happy to help! Meet and greets welcome but not mandatory. Let your dog(s) vacation with us feeling like they are home. I provide care 24/7 and keep the same routine as your home schedule. I allow full roam of my home and allow to be on furniture as long it follows normal home rules. I want your pup to become part of my family. I have 2 acres for lots of fun. I live in a country type setting providing extra caution and following all existing leash rules. I don't crate unless you already do that at home. I ask you to bring food, bed and anything that helps comfort your baby.

Kiana was truly amazing. I had a sudden family emergency that required me to go out of state. She went so far above and beyond during that time, while having no obligation to do so. From the beginning of the cats stay with Kiana, she had been so incredibly flexible, she agreed to watch them with only two days notice, and due to the situation evolving and becoming unpredictable, she was more than happy to allow me to extend their stay. She was the direct cause of so much stress relief due to knowing the cats were safe, and well taken care of. 5/5 human. As for her actual care of the kitties she again went well above and beyond anything anyone might think is going the extra mile. The cats were given the space needed to become comfortable and very quickly, and happily adapted to the new routine. I received frequent pictures and videos, she was very communicative, and because of her vigilance we were able to create a plan of action for one of the kitties who started throwing up more frequently than normal. She even went out and bought higher quality food for the cats, and implemented a structured feeing strategy so we could better assess the puking, which I doubt was an easy task since they both free fed before they were boarded. She kept me up to date at all times and provided regular, detailed updates. 5/5 for animal care as well. She is the best sitter/boarder I have ever had any experience with, by exponents, it’s not even close. Her service was head, and shoulders above anyone I’ve personally used before and far better than anything I’ve heard about other boarders. Choosing Kiana to care for your pets should be an insanely easy decision for anyone who wants their animals taken care of at the highest level of care, and wants someone that is just a straight up good human as well.

This was second time Bessa stayed with Sheila and was just as great as the first time. Big fenced in yard and her dog Dakota is so sweet. Sheila provided lots of pics and videos and truly loves her dog guests. She was very accommodating to Bessas needs and did everything to make sure she was happy and and felt at home. I can’t wait for Bessa to visit again.

Joshua, you were fantastic with my dog Slippy for the full 10 days. From the very beginning, I could tell how much care and attention you gave him. The regular updates and sweet photos meant the world to me and let me truly relax on my trip. Slippy came home happy, energetic, and clearly well-loved. I so grateful for everything you did. Thank you so much, Joshua — I would happily trust you with Slippy again anytime!

About: I love to make sure your babies are happy, safe and comfortable so that you can enjoy your time away without worry. I’m a teacher/social worker by trade, so I’m patient, kind and caring. Special needs or requests are not an issue. My consistent communication and caring for your pets as my own is what makes me your best choice! I’m a social worker, so I’m off on weekends routinely, which coincides with families wanting time away. Occasionally available weeknights for walks or drop ins. Weekends are more flexible, and I’m usually more available. I generally prefer boarding in my home and my routine is planned around your babies. Their needs are my priority! Happy to provide care in my home for dogs on weekends. Walking trails and small yard. Other dogs are plentiful here, but-I will always keep your dog leashed at all times. I’m not against an occasional pup cup trip but have also respected meat-based, gluten free and hypoallergenic diets as well. Only one dog (family) at a time.

Bri was exactly who we were looking for! Our dog Charlie is somewhat anxious and not very social with other dogs so we really didn’t want to leave him in a traditional boarding facility for a week. Bri was happy to take care of Charlie and showed him so much love and attention! She has a clean home and lots of outdoor space and trails for walks. Couldn’t be happier with our experience!

We recently worked with Kassia to dog-sit our 4-year old dog, and it was a great experience! We set up a meet and greet so we could make sure that our generally fearful dog felt comfortable with Kassia. Kassia clearly has a lot of experience working with animals, and was so kind to our dog, who quickly became excited to be around Kassia. Our dog also had an injury, which Kassia worked with us to make sure all meds and instructions were followed while we were gone. We were so happy with how Kassia communicated in the lead up to, and during her weekend dog-sitting for us. We would love to work with Kassia again in the future, and are very grateful that she took such amazing care of our pup!

There are 575 sitters on Rover for Pet Boarding in Durham. About 91% of Durham sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
