“Diamond took such great care of our dog Maple! He's sometimes a little anxious but he was completely at home there. Diamond sent frequent photo updates and even took him to work with her. We'll definitely be dropping him off here again the next time we go away.”

“Kelsey was very accommodating of my dog Nemo, who isn't always a fan of other dogs, so she made sure he was the only dog staying with her at the time! She was very communicative as well and sent many photos, which was much appreciated. I definitely recommend Kelsey to care for your pets while you are away!”

“Andrea was very friendly and professional. She took care of Bailey like he was her own. She sent me updates of his stay frequently. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for puppy or doggy care. She was amazing!”

About: I love to make sure your babies are happy, safe and comfortable so that you can enjoy your time away without worry! FaceTime, texts and consistent communication is what makes me your best choice! Former special educator, patience is my virtue! Weekday social worker, so I’m off on weekends routinely, which coincides with families wanting some getaway time. Occasionally available weeknights for walks and drop ins. Weekends are more flexible, and I’m usually available AM/PM or both. Looking to begin boarding in the Fall 2025 Primarily, I can come to your house for care. Occasionally, happily ready to provide care in my home for dogs on weekends. Walking trails and small yard. Other dogs are plentiful here, I will always keep your dog leashed at all times. I’m not against an occasional pup cup trip but have also respected gluten free diets as well.
“Karen is such an amazing sitter! She was willing to work with us during our hectic schedule and was incredibly easy and quick with communication. When we weren't able to get back to pick up our pup because our flight got delayed, she was incredibly flexible and was the one to reach out to us to let us know not to worry. I highly recommend her!”

“Noreen was absolutely amazing with our 2.5 year old pup! She was really attentive, gave Faye lots of exercise and company, asked questions, and gave frequent updates (with pics and videos!). To make things even better, Noreen was extremely understanding when our drop off time got delayed due to a vet appointment. Faye came back to us super happy and tired after a fun weekend. We would recommend Noreen to anyone :)”

“Mack and Dennis had their very first Rover sleep-away with James, and they were welcomed with open arms by his whole family. Everyone was so sweet and hospitable, and his little girl gave them plenty of cuddles, which they absolutely loved. James was incredibly easy to work with. He was responsive, flexible, and genuinely accommodating. I felt completely at ease knowing my boys were in such a warm, caring home. I would absolutely recommend James to anyone looking for a trustworthy, family-oriented sitter. We will happily book with him again.”

About: I have had my dog for over 9 years. She is very good with others. I have a fenced in backyard, and a doggy door of the screened porch. When we are home during the day in good temperatures, the door to the house will be open giving dogs the freedom of where they want to relax or play. I am currently a stay at home Mom to my wonderful twins therefore I have a pretty flexible schedule I can work around, especially if it avoid the kids naps. I have a fenced in backyard that is connected to the house via a screened in porch so there are many options of where to hang out. At night everyone is inside.
“Khaila is incredible! She is a true dog lover and very knowledgeable. There are few people I trust with my dogs, and she's one of them! I know my dogs will be in good hands with Khaila, and she's my first choice in sitter in the Saco area. She's flexible with plans, responsive, and very communicative. I appreciate the updates she shares with me, and I know I don't have to worry when my dogs are being watched by her. Thank you Khaila!”

“Excellent and reliable. I got stuck in another state for an extra day due to a flight cancellation, and she was so helpful with watching my dog extra and flexible with a last minute change in plans. Used her services multiple times and always satisfied!”

“Gary was incredibly helpful when my son was born. He watched our labradoodle, Benji, at the last minute and was so accommodating and kind. We are so grateful for Gary and his entire family. Highly recommend!”

“Bessa had another great time at Sheila’s and Dakotas house. Sheila took her for walks and awesome trip to pierce island dog park. I always know Bessa will have a great time and get lots of loving at Sheila’s. She shares lots of pics and videos during her stay too.”

“Caroline and Gerry took wonderful care of Coda. They were friendly and thoughtful and very willing to help when my original flight was cancelled. It was great to have peace of mind that he was in such great hands.”

“Katie was great with drop off and pickup. She administered Clover’s meds and was quick to get back to me when I communicated with her. She was also very flexible with my late pickup when plans changed, and I really appreciate that.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ME ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
