“Leah has been absolutely amazing taking care of my dog Otis while I recover from surgery. She is easy to communicate with, shows up on time with a smile, and most importantly clearly truly cares about Otis being happy and getting the care he needs. I am incredibly grateful to have found such a wonderful and caring person to help take care of my pet.”

“The girls and I met with Tara, they are excited and will be happy. It easies my mind to have a person that can bond and have fun with them. Look forward to see how they do once Tara starts.”

About: Hello! Thanks for checking out my profile! I am a former elementary teacher turned professional dog walker, dog trainer, + pet sitter for over 20 years + counting! I am excited to provide services in my hometown of South Berwick + nearby towns such as Eliot, The Berwicks, Dover, + Rollinsford. Please take the time to read through the details + ask any questions! References are readily available at every Meet & Greet for your peace of mind. What sets me apart is that I have more than just experience as a "pet lover" + dog owner. I have a wide range of hands-on experience with not only dogs but also cats, rabbits, birds, guinea pigs, + more! 👉 My availability is open on Tuesdays + Thursdays as well as Friday morning late afternoon & evening. Open on Saturday & Sunday. My professional pet sitting + dog walking company "Teacher's Pet Sitting Service" began in 2006 in Manchester, NH, + moved to the seacoast serving a client base of countless pets + I'm broadening my services on Rover to reach more clients. My greatest strength is dog walking + dog training. I have been mentored by top respected dog trainers which has helped me ensure that dogs stay engaged, safe, calm, & well managed. No behavior, size, or breed is too challenging for me due to my understanding of dog body language + calm management that have helped dogs feel confident + comfortable. I can even help you troubleshoot common behaviors such as chronic barking, pulling, etc, + do private training in your home! When we meet we will review all of the details for their care, take a tour of your home to learn where their food, bowls, litter boxes, etc, are located & we will review their routine. With me, I will not rush through the visits. In fact, you'll likely learn that I will stay a bit longer if your pets need extra TLC! I know how important & reassuring it is to have ongoing communication & detailed notes & multiple pictures so that is prioritized for your peace of mind! Please note that I do not board pets in my home. Please reach out if you have any questions! I look forward to hearing about your pets! P.S. Due to 22 years of experience + travel expenses, my BASE rate for ONE dog is $35.00 if clients live outside of South Berwick. Rates will be calculated on your location. Providing service in my South Berwick hometown, Eliot, Rollinsford, + Dover but there may be exceptions to travel further so please ask! I adjust my schedule according to your pet's schedule as closely as possible. ✔️When your dog is triggered by other dogs, people, etc, I will reverse directions or cross the street to avoid any reactivity. ✔️ Under NO circumstances, I will not take your dog to "say hi" to dogs or people including the mailman for safety + liability. ✔️Dogs must be indoors in between visits for safety reasons. ✔️Slow & safe exits out of doorways to ensure that dogs do not escape. ✔️I do not take dogs to the dog park for liability and safety reasons. ✔️I do not leave dogs out in the yard in-between visits due to possible injury, escapes, weather concerns, anxiety, etc. ✔️ All cats must be indoors
“Kate has been great with our cat, spending quality time with her every day. I appreciate all the pics she sends and the daily messages with details about how she is doing each day. I highly recommend Kate!”

“Hunter was very communicative during the visits with our puppy as well as while scheduling a meet and greet. She was also very punctual during the visits and provided a great summary of how it went.”

“I have a senior cat that needs transdermal medication twice a day. Jason took great care of my cat while we were away for the weekend, and gave informative reports of each visit. When he first came to meet us I could tell that he understands cats - he did not invade her personal space, and allowed her to warm up to him on her terms.”

“Abigail was incredibly flexible and so thoughtful when it came to our pups. They immediately took to her and although her care was brief we know we'll be bringing her back for future needs.”

About: Hi! I am a foster mom who really just loves taking care of animals. You know I'd do it for free - because I do! 🙂I’ve volunteered with animal rescues all over the world in the USA, Africa, and Latin America. 🩷 I've worked with with all types of dogs: nervous, young, old, pullers, escape artists, forces of destruction, you name it. I work part time, work from home and I make my own hours, so my schedule is completely flexible. Just ask - happy to help! 🗓️✅ For dog walks I will take them on a familiar path or try to find a nice path nearby. I will keep them on leash unless there’s a fenced in area, and happy to accommodate any requests you have. 🐾🐾
About: My earliest memory was of adopting my first dog, a Weimaraner we named Halle. Since then, caring for dogs has been a staple part of my life. Few things are as exciting to me as meeting a new dog and learning all about their habits. I've sitted small and medium sized dogs of neighbors and family members for the last 10 years or so. I can handle dogs of any age, but I have lots of experience with senior dogs. Additionally, I've been trained by a veterinarian to supply IV fluids as well as administer other kinds of medication effectively such as pills or liquids. If your pet needs this extra care, I can provide it. I work remotely, so I can spend my work days keeping your dog company while you are away. I am unavailable Monday evenings, but otherwise I am available for drop ins any day of the week. Making your dog feel comfortable and safe is my top priority task. The second most important task is being respectful of my client's property while caring for pets in their home. I know the anxious feeling of leaving your pet with someone else, so I will strive to earn your trust so you can focus on enjoying your time out of town. Additionally, I always perform leash/collar checks to ensure they are securely fastened.
About: Pets (and their people!) can sense my reliability, warmth, and attention to detail right away. I think it's because I'm a natural "pet magnet" - peaceful & present with animals of all kinds. I never cut corners when it comes to pet care or comfort. Whether it's extra snuggles, sticking to a precise routine, or noticing small changes in behavior, I bring a watchful eye and a caring heart to every visit. At home, I have hands-on experience with a variety of dogs. From energetic puppies to gentle seniors, from toy breeds to large companions. I’ve also cared for cats, fish, and birds for years, so you can call on me for a wide range of companion animal needs. The safety, happiness, and well-being of your pets are my top priorities. I am ever-mindful of how much they mean to you, and that informs the care I provide. I have lots of flexibility with scheduling at this time. Just as long as another owner hasn't booked me already, I am available seven days a week. I will follow your instructions for how you keep your pets in your home. Feeding routines, potty routines, play-time and walks, whether or not they're allowed on furniture - you call the shots!

Jeanette has been such a lovely sitter for our two kitties, and will continue to be our go to for the peace of mind she provides. Her check-ins are always very detailed and include great pictures. She has gotten our shy cat to come out of her shell and takes the time to play with them and get their energy out each visit.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
