“Abigail was incredibly flexible and so thoughtful when it came to our pups. They immediately took to her and although her care was brief we know we'll be bringing her back for future needs.”

About: I have had dogs my entire life. I have taken care of my own dogs as well as friends and neighbors. I have experience with labs, golden retrievers, German shepherds, Rottweilers, and pit bulls mostly but love all dogs. I currently work full time Monday-Friday (this is important to note when booking me for house sitting) and would love to help people with walking their pets/letting them out after work or on the weekends. I can’t have pets in my apartment and greatly miss interacting with dogs! I am very respectful of other people’s homes. I am clean and appreciate instructions/rules on where food, collars/leashes, treats, etc are. I will keep your furry companions company, provide long walks, and scratches of course!
“Laurie was wonderful! We booked her for a few days worth of drop-in visits with our 1 year old dog Luna (40-lb border collie mix). We've only had Luna for 4 months (rescue) and she is incredibly timid and loud around strangers in the house. We were worried going into the weekend that we might even have to cancel our trip because Luna has been unmanageable by just about everyone we've tried to get to walk her. And even with us, on walks she is easily distracted and will try to chase everything from squirrels to grasshoppers. It can be a challenge for non-family to even get close enough to get a leash on her. Laurie was so kind and patient with Luna, and spent so much time with her to gain her trust. She proved fully capable of leashing Luna and bringing her on long walks. We will definitely be booking Laurie again! (provided she would be willing!)”

“Lydia is amazing with our two pups. Always on time to let them out and takes some amazing pictures so we don’t miss them too much! The check in throughout the few days we were gone helped ease my anxiety of leaving them while I’m away! Lydia is a great sitter and would recommend to anyone! ☺️”

“Alyssa is absolutely wonderful. I have a new puppy...and have to work. Alyssa stops in midday to check in on him. She goes above and beyond. Not only does she care for and play with him, but she also takes the time to help reinforce his training. Hank and I think Alyssa is the best!”

“Yujie was amazing with my two dogs. He was incredibly helpful and always responded very quickly, even last minute. His communication was excellent, which gave me complete peace of mind. I could tell right away that he is kind, patient, and truly cares about the animals he takes care of. I will absolutely continue to use Yujie for my dogs and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for reliable, compassionate animal care.”

About: I'm currently a Pre-Veterinary student at University of New Hampshire and currently work at a local veterinary clinic. As a veterinary assistant I have gained experience with animal handling and care. I am also Fear Free Certified and know had to adequately prevent fear, anxiety, and stress in both cats and dogs. I have previously worked at a training facility and am familiar with certain signals and behaviors that animals demonstrate to express themselves. I have owned cats and dogs my entire life and have been exposed to many types of breeds, species, and seen interesting cases regarding animal health. When I'm not at school I take care of my two dogs and cats at home. Furthermore, I work part-time at a veterinary clinic at school and at home so I am constantly surrounded by animals and have exposure to many cases. I previously owned a diabetic cat and learned how to administer insulin shots and monitor her glucose levels multiple times a day. I feed and water my animals in my home at least twice a day, snacks are often provided as well. I walk my dogs as much as necessary (typically twice a day). I always play with my cats and dogs. I have a kitten who loves playing fetch with toy mice and a 5 year old dog who enjoys hiking trips and swimming. The two dogs get groomed when needed but I brush them consistently in between grooms. Finally, I am responsible when it comes to my animals' health and notice any changes in behavior or appearance almost immediately. I find it important to keep them up to date with vaccines and any other medications they need.

“Michela is an absolutely amazing with my 2 cats and I couldn’t recommend her enough. She took her time with one in particular who is really shy & timid. By the end of the visit, Michela had won her over. She definitely has my fur babies best interest at heart while using her instincts. My cats fell in love with her by the end.”

Absolutely incredible sitter! Great communication, tons of pictures, and my cats obviously really liked her which is the biggest plus! I hate leaving my pets for extended periods of time but Marion put me immediately at ease after her first visit. Highly highly recommend for your pets!

I hired Tami for a short, albeit somewhat higher-need visit for my two cats. One of the cats had simple needs, but the other needed daily medication and monitoring of a wound. I hired Tami specifically because she advertised herself as a vet tech, so I felt comfortable that she would take care of these needs. I would have normally canceled my trip, but it was for work, so I couldn't Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Tami after this experience. When I came home, a few things were not in the condition I would have liked. The litter boxes were half empty and not very clean, despite leaving a brand new bag of litter out on the counter. This was especially bothersome because one of my cats had an open wound on his leg that was healing. One of my cats' water bowls was nearly empty, even though it was a large fountain and she had just been there earlier in the day. However, my real issue came when my roommate mentioned that Tami did not seem to stay for very long. This prompted me to check my security cameras, and I realized that she fabricated all of her visit cards in all but one. The most egregious was a visit when she claimed to be present for the full 30 minutes, but actually only stayed for 9 minutes. This is barely enough time to give my cat his medicine and put food in his bowl, let alone tend to two cats, clean litterboxes, and give them a little attention. I paid Tami for two cats, and I was told she never interacted with or did anything for my second cat (who did not need the medication). In total, during a 3-day booking, Tami claimed to be present for a total of 45 minutes that she was not actually there.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
