“Fantastic sitter! Very responsible and straightforward. Communication was smooth and clear throughout the stay, and I appreciated getting daily photo updates. I felt completely at ease knowing my dog was in great hands. Highly recommend!”

“Bob was a great communicator, updating us with texts and photos. Preston was very well cared for and was his normal happy self at pick up. Would highly recommend Bob.”

About: I'm an animal lover and have grown up with all types of animals. I have been trusted taking care of neighbors, friends, and families pets for many years. My sister is a veterinarian so I often get the pet questions. I will go above and beyond for your pet. I work from home Monday and Tuesday so I am free to go for walks and drop by your house most of the time these days. I am in the office Wednesday through Friday and will have less time but still available. Weekends are free unless I'm away. I live on an acre of land. It is not a fully fenced yard but it is set back in a small, quiet neighborhood on a dead end road. I have an indoor cat.
“Sheila was wonderful … took lots of pics and videos and let me know how she was doing. Bessa loved it there and loved her dog Dakota who’s a sweetheart. Can’t say enough good things about Sheila .. will def have Bessa stay again.”

About: I’m a newly retired teacher and former principal that loves my doggies! Over the years, I’ve had so much love from my very special friends. Would love to give and get some loves from your treasured family member. I literally live in the middle of Stratham Hill Park and I love to walk. Only one “little guy” at a time…🥰 I’m loving my retirement and have lots of time and love to give. I have some scheduled exercise classes in the mornings but always home by 10:30. I’ve had so many dogs over the years. Routine visits to the vet are mandatory and walking, playing, and interacting with my friends are essential. I’m also very familiar with dogs with anxiety. One needs to approach this in a calm and careful way and watch the signs for anxiety coming on and be able to respond with love and kindness. Living right in the middle of Stratham Hill Park, I have easy access to the walking trails. Because I don’t know your dog, they will never be off leash but will be outside often during the day!! I love to walk. 🥰 I have a lovely crate IF your dog prefers this quiet space, but I will not be crating unless you ask me to. Typically my 11 year old grandson will come by after school to snuggle, play and go for a walk with me and your pup!
“I always feel bad leaving Bronson when we go on vacation. But I know he will be well taken care of with Jude and his family. They definitely treat him like a family member. Thank you so much for always being flexible with our dates and times.”

“Mack and Dennis had their very first Rover sleep-away with James, and they were welcomed with open arms by his whole family. Everyone was so sweet and hospitable, and his little girl gave them plenty of cuddles, which they absolutely loved. James was incredibly easy to work with. He was responsive, flexible, and genuinely accommodating. I felt completely at ease knowing my boys were in such a warm, caring home. I would absolutely recommend James to anyone looking for a trustworthy, family-oriented sitter. We will happily book with him again.”

About: I have had my dog for over 9 years. She is very good with others. I have a fenced in backyard, and a doggy door of the screened porch. When we are home during the day in good temperatures, the door to the house will be open giving dogs the freedom of where they want to relax or play. I am currently a stay at home Mom to my wonderful twins therefore I have a pretty flexible schedule I can work around, especially if it avoid the kids naps. I have a fenced in backyard that is connected to the house via a screened in porch so there are many options of where to hang out. At night everyone is inside.
“Katie has been watching Daisy for several years for us in the summer, we went to CO over Christmas and booked with Katie. This time Katie also sat our cat. My animals come home happy, clean and feed. Being able to count on someone to care for my babies is so important to me, my husband and I feel like we are leaving them with family.”

“Our golden doodle loved his stay so much I think he was disappointed we didn’t stay away longer. Her golden retrievers gave him pals to chase around her shady backyard. We are thrilled with Sylvia and hope to use her again soon!”

“I recently left my Boston Terrier, Mia, with Donna and John during my vacation to Sicily for 11 days. Had not used them before, but after our initial meet and greet I felt confident they both had Mia’s best interest in mind and they genuinely love taking care of dogs! I was able to relax while gone and knew Mia was in a good place and having fun. Will definitely use John and Donna again !”

“Lorenzo was great! Excellent communication. He sent pictures or videos every day that our pup stayed with him. He has great outdoor space and two dogs of his own for built in playmates.”

“Michelle was great, boarding our large dog. Took care of him as family. Frequent walks, fenced yard. Photos throughout the day. Michelle demonstrates care and compassion for our pup.”

“Maggie is a pup that doesn’t appreciate change in her routine and is a “skittish “ dog. Kathy and company worked really hard to make her feel comfortable and safe and I felt very comfortable with Maggie staying with them. Above and beyond the call of duty! Definitely will use Kathy again, in fact we’re already scheduling another stay!!”

“Jaclyn is a fantastic person who loves the dogs she watches like they are her own. She was immediately welcoming and caring towards our dogs when we dropped them off. She also sent regular photo and video updates sharing what our dogs were up to. I could tell they were well cared for and treated like part of the family. 10/10. Would recommend to others and rebook for my own dogs.”

“Donny took such great care of my puppy Jax while I was on international travel. When I went to the meet and greet before, current clients who were there for training were singing his praises so I knew we were in good hands. While away, he sent me a handful of adorable videos showing Jax playing with the other dogs. I am so glad I found Donny and wouldn't hesitate to ask him to watch Jax again in the future. Thank you!!”

“Mercis is the BEST pet-sitter!!!! She always goes above and beyond in taking care of my dog Sherlock, be it food, walks or anything!! I had to visit my home country and it is very hard to stay away from my fur baby, but I had no worries as Sherlock was with Mercis!! She kept me informed daily with pictures and video calls! Seriously I don’t know what we’d do without Mercis! Sherlock adores her and so do we!!!”

Shana took wonderful care of my 4 month year puppy, and I couldn’t recommend her more. As a new pet owner, I was worried being away from my pup, but Shana made this experience super easy. She sent regular updates and photos, and Sancho seemed to have a wonderful time. When I need to board again, I’ll choose Shana and I recommend you do as well.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
