“Gavin was wonderful with my dogs. He arrived on time, made sure they got plenty of outside time, and even brought in a package from my front steps. I am very glad to have Gavin available to watch my boys when I need to be away.”

“Madison was fantastic! She followed all of our instructions, and our kitten absolutely loved her. We also received wonderful photos that made us feel like we were right there with her. Highly recommend!”

“Krista has been seeing our 4 month old puppy, Louie, for a few weeks now. Right away she was an excellent communicator and very professional. She always asks to see if there is anything we are working on with Louie that we would like reinforced. I love seeing the pictures of their visit and what they did. We are so happy with the wonderful care Louie gets with Krista!”

“Lydia is great with our 2 big dogs that aren’t always easy to deal with. She is reliable and keeps you informed at all times. We certainly recommend her to care for your pets.”

“Erica has been such a wonderful caregiver for our two kitties! She is so communicative and I felt so at ease after reading her reports after each check-in. She gave our boys lots of TLC and we truly appreciate her thoughtful care!”

About: I love being with animals and have experience caring for a wide range of pets, including dogs, cats, jumping spiders, and lizards. I enjoy learning each animal’s personality and making sure they’re comfortable and well cared for. I am a student who goes to college out of state but is home for the month of January and is also working part time. Since losing a dog of my own I figured this would be a great opportunity to help others with their pets and still have a great time with animals. I do have a fenced in yard if I take dogs into my home but in other peoples homes, listening to the guardian is most important to me on how they coexist with their pet and respecting that. At the end of the day I want to help people care for their pets.

About: Dogs have always been my favorite animal. I grew up with family dogs my whole life. My dog, Ellie, is an amazing 13 year old lab-mix that we have had since she was 8 weeks old. I am comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes and ages. I am a stay at home mom with a lot of flexibility in my schedule. We are an active family that spend a lot of time outside and always have Ellie with us. I treat pets as another member of the family and ensure they are well cared for. I would love to help with all of your furry friends needs! I am currently a stay at home mom with lots of flexibility in my schedule. I would have the ability to care for your dog multiple times in a day if needed. I am happy to provide any care that your dog needs. I am unable to take dogs in to my home at this time but happy to pick your dog up for walks and adventures or care for them in your house.
“Stephanie did a great job watching our pups over a long weekend. She provided detailed information for each visit, and shared pictures of the pups. Our dogs seemed instantly comfortable with her during the meet and greet, and we felt at ease knowing she was watching them.”

About: I love dogs and have a beautiful almost 9 yo 1/2 Lab 1/2 GSP of my own who I fostered and then adopted February 2018; she will gladly keep your dog company and busy playing at my home. I have a large fenced in back yard 2 miles from downtown Portsmouth with plenty of room for the dogs to play and run around in. I am recently retired from Corp Amer, and am home with the dogs so they won’t be left alone. I will only take up to 3 dogs (dogs must be over 2 years of age and show zero signs of any aggression) in at a time for day care and 1 or 2 for boarding so your dog will get plenty of love and one on one attention. My prices may be a little bit higher than other people on this app, but that is because I’m only taking one or two dogs at a time and your dog is getting 1:1 care versus being in a rowdy kennel type environment with several dogs around. You can rest assured knowing I will care for your pets better than most. When I am walking your dog, I will engage with them, give them loads of attention, and will not be looking at/reading my phone. There are toys and tennis balls for them to play with in the yard and they will be let out every 2 hours for potty breaks and play, and can lounge around on the couches if they feel like it too. If they are 100% trained with recall, we go for 2 off leash trail enrichment hikes/ walks per day, otherwise they can be walked on leash around my neighborhood. At bed time, I play soft spa like music so the pups can sleep well and comfortable. I would like to have a meet and greet with all dogs and owners before they board at my home. My daycare rates are for up to 8 hours per day. If you drop your dog off at 8:30am, the dog must be picked up by 4:30pm otherwise you will be charged an additional half day rate. Latest pickup is 6:30pm. After 6:30pm it becomes an overnight. Drop offs must be before 6pm. I cater to dogs that need a little extra support and don’t do well in a chaotic kennel environment, which is why it is more of a “boutique “style service. (1:1) At the most, I might pop out for an hour but the dogs will not be left alone for more than an hour or 2 max. I have a large crate here if your dogs likes to be crated. I am not currently housesitting, only taking dogs in at my home. I do not book out months in advance. I generally only book out 1-2 months in advance. I am now currently only booking through Oct 2026. I let the dogs out every couple of hours for potty breaks and play. I will only take in 2-3 dogs max for daycare at a time and one or two dogs at a time for overnights, as to not overwhelm any of the dogs. This is a relaxed stress free environment for the dogs. I do not take in any dogs that show any signs of aggression.
“Emerson was great! She showed up on time, and followed instructions to a tea. And had zero problems with my 6 month old Malinois, and other large dog! Even in the pouring rain. Would recommend her for any of your pets needs :)”

“Yujie was amazing with my two dogs. He was incredibly helpful and always responded very quickly, even last minute. His communication was excellent, which gave me complete peace of mind. I could tell right away that he is kind, patient, and truly cares about the animals he takes care of. I will absolutely continue to use Yujie for my dogs and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for reliable, compassionate animal care.”

Krista was AWESOME. I booked her within the week I needed her services, so we didn’t have a chance to meet beforehand, but I left her detailed notes regarding what she needed to know when coming to our home to walk our dogs. Krista followed everything to a T, and sent lots of pictures. I got a detailed play by play of the visit, and it looks like my pups loved her. ❤️ They were certainly content when I got home. We will look forward to using Krista again for our puppies’ needs!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Greenland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Greenland with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
