“She did an amazing job with my two cats. Made sure all of their stuff was clean and even vacuumed, and swept the floor as well as took out the trash. None of those things I asked for. By far the best pet sitter I’ve hired.”

“Ethan was great & helped me out with a last minute booking for a work trip. My rottie who is apprehensive with strangers did great with him and I came home to two very happy dogs. Ethan was respectful of my home and responded quickly any time I reached out. Would book again, thank you Ethan!!”

“Caring for our amazing herd of cats is no easy feat, but Elle really rose to the occasion! She is so great with them and took time to see everybody and report back on how they were each doing. I can't express how good it feels to have someone we can really trust to take care of our babies. Elle gave the best updates with lots of pics and made being away from home so much less stressful. You can tell that she genuinely enjoys being with the cats and is just a joy to work with. THANK YOU SO MUCH!”

About: Hey there! I’m a dedicated pet caregiver with 5+ years of professional experience offering pet sitting, dog walking, and drop in visits. I’ve cared for pets of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. I’m calm, patient, and loving pets usually warm up to me right away! I’m reliable, attentive to routines, and always follow instructions carefully to keep your pets safe and happy. I have a 17 year old cat of my own named Merv that I absolutely love. He’s a sweetheart and gets along well with others. I’ve had many dogs like 2 English bulldog’s, and a Black Lab. They all lived a happy life and passed of old age. I’m hoping to welcome another cat or dog soon. I take pride in providing compassionate, high quality care every visit. Your pets will be in great hands! 🐾💛 I do pet care full time, so I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to give your pets the attention they deserve. I’m available for walks, drop ins, and sitting throughout the week, with boarding available most days as well. I only accept one pet family at a time for boarding, so your pet will always have my full attention and care. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priority. It’s just me, my boyfriend, and my cat Merv at home, and I create a calm, loving environment. I’ve had two English Bulldogs and a Black Lab who lived long, happy lives, so I understand different needs and temperaments. I do not overbook and only care for one pet family at a time, ensuring a safe, low stress, and personalized experience. 🐾💛

“It was our first time using Rover, and everything went smoothly. Ellen took care of our cats. She is reliable, and she showed up even despite the winter storm warning. Ellen also closely followed my instructions, which I appreciated.”

“Maja is a great rover who leaves detailed notes and pictures. She always makes sure my kitties have the best care and that their area is clean. She reaches out with questions and strives to give the best care. I highly recommend that you use Maja for cat sitting.”

“Sarah was quick to respond and super easy to work with. We really appreciate her dropping in to feed Penny and give her a little attention. Will definitely contact her for care in the future.”

“Megan did a great job taking care of my little boy Milo. I appreciated the card photos of her playing with him and him eating. I would be happy to use Megan in the future for Milo’s care. Thanks Megan!”

“Gigi was amazing! 10/10 recommend her to watch your babies. I am always a little nervous to leave my babies for long periods of time but Gigi made the entire process so easy which made me feel super comfortable & my dogs LOVED her. Lola and Levi enjoyed spending time with her and seemed very comfortable while I was away as shown through pictures 🥰 and sweet notes about visits. She was super communicative, kind, goes above & beyond, and I will 1000% be using her again for all my pet needs. Thanks again Gigi!”

“Lauren is an amazing cat sitter! Super responsive, incredibly proactive, and genuinely caring. She noticed a scratch on my cat, kept an eye on it, and made sure it healed up. Plus, Leonard got tons of snuggles and playtime. She went way beyond what’s normal—truly exceptional care.”

“Ryan was great! Super communicative, followed the dog specific instructions for both pups and gave info on how they both were and what they did! I picked him last minute for 2 days of drop ins and would use him again without question!”

“I can’t recommend Christy highly enough! She did a fantastic job taking care of my 2 cats, as always. She was able to easily give medications without issue, and she provided detailed updates and pictures each day.”

“Emily provided excellent care for our pup. She went out of her way to clean up some in the backyard. Our pup really enjoyed her company and the time she spent playing with her. I would highly recommend Emily for your pet sitter.”

“Natalie sent the cutest pictures and updates of my cat while I was away! I also appreciate how flexible she was with the booking, will definitely book with her again next time I’m traveling!”

About: I have been around pets since the day I was born! While I am away at IU Indianapolis right now, I still make sure to visit my 2 dogs and 2 cats back home. I am a college runner with lots of energy for active puppies, but also love to relax with older dogs and cats. As a college student I am looking for opportunities that work around my class schedule. Most often I am looking for weekend sits, but also when I have a break during the week. I am very loving and affectionate to pets, but also know when I should be stern in order to keep them from doing things that may get them or someone else hurt. I always make sure they have enough food and water and I clean up after them if needed.

“Maddie accepted our booking last minute after all of our sitter plans fell through right before we headed out of town. We had never used Rover before so we were slightly apprehensive. She came over right away to meet him and was sure to send us pictures and updates for every visit. Our baby began to love her as the interaction progressed. Will definitely be rebooking in the future.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Indianapolis
Natalie was fantastic. We were gone for a longer trip than usual and did not want to ask our friends to come like we usually do. She was very communicative before and during the booking. We had a meet and greet before to check that our cat will be ok with her and he asked for petting from Natalie in the first 5 minutes. During our absences she diligently did all we asked, she sent pictures and reports on the tasks done and the cat’s mood. He was clearly very happy to see her each time. In the last 2 days, he had a little weird poop and she informed us right away and kept an eye on it (it was nothing). We felt we could trust her and more importantly our cat trusted her. We will book her again when we have any need. So glad we found such a gem to take care of our fur baby when we are gone. Highly recommended.

Paola was great with our cats. They have to be fed separately and with care and she was more than able to accomplish that. She was able to routinely locate our cat that likes to hide. Our skittish cat even got some pets from her! Paola always made sure to send us pictures and updates and really kept us in the loop and helped ease our minds. We knew our pets were in good hands.

Patrick always does a great job checking on our cats. I appreciate that he always makes sure they get some much needed attention while we’re away. This past visit, we were grateful that he caught and kept us well-informed of a (fortunately minor) issue with one of our cats.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
