“Carmen was absolutely incredible with my dog Sally. It’s probably the first time I’ve felt at ease leaving Sally at home with someone that wasn’t a friend or family member. She was super communicative and attentive to all of Sally’s needs. 10/10 would gladly book her again!”

“Allison was wonderful and very communicative, which i greatly appreciated as a first time Rover user. Very happy to have chosen her for this and future drop ins.”

“Jamie was absolutely great! The pups loved her and her communication and post-visit notes and pictures were detailed and reassuring that my dogs were in good hands. Will definitely book with her again!”

About: I had a dog for 17 years and a cat for 10. I love animals and since my dog passed, I would love to take care of other people's pets while I am grieving the loss of mine. My dog being a senior helped me learn how to administer different meds if your animal needs that. I work in education so I work from 7:30- 3:30 but come home for lunch everyday to check in and go out for a potty break. I have a friendly cat. I have a decent sized back yard with a dog chain. My neighborhood is also very walkable for physical activity.

“Hannah has been an incredible help in settling in with my puppy. She has provided such good care and has been so communicative every step of the way. She even popped in last minute to help so that I could get a little extra time to enjoy a much needed day out. I highly recommend her!”

About: I have taken care of kittens, cats, puppies, turtles, ferrets, rabbits, chinchillas, fish and more. Older cats who have needed shots and medicine, a three legged cat, a one eyed dog, and a senior dog. I love animals and I love being around them. I would be happy to love on yours and treat them as my own for my time with them. I have a flexible day to day schedule so taking time out of my day to care for pets is a breeze. I love spending time with animals and loving on them. I care for pets in the clients home! I treat them like their owner would loving on them, playing, walking, and spending time with them. I would treat their animals and home with the upmost respect and care.

“We couldn’t have been happier with Elizabeth! She was dependable, kind, and patient with our cat. It gave us great comfort as we traveled and we loved getting her pictures. She was very adept at giving our cat medication which is not easy! We would not hesitate to recommend her and would definitely use her services again.”

About: I’ve taken care of puppies when they were first born because the mom had died and I also helped my neighbor with her dogs while she was at work. I start each morning with a brisk walk with the pups, followed by breakfast time. Throughout the day, I fit in playtime and cuddles, making sure they're always cared for amidst my other tasks. At a client's home, I follow their pet's routine to the letter, ensuring they feel secure and loved. And I will do anything to keep them safe.
“Felt very comfortable and at ease leaving my 13 YO senior husky in Mary’s care! She was very quick to respond/communication was a breeze. She seemed experienced and confident with large breeds. My husky seemed very at ease and happy with her during the meet and greet as well. Will def be booking her again if I’m in need of a sitter!! Thanks Mary!”
About: I am an animal lover and have over 33 years of experience! I grew up having dogs and cats. I have had 3 of my own dogs and 2 cats, 4 of which were strays. I have also cared for elderly pets and so I understand what it takes to give them the love and treatment they need in their more frail years. I currently have very flexible hours and can take care of your furry friend whenever you need me. I had a career in Nursing, but I am currently not practicing so I am free to help you out with your needs. I am very reliable and trustworthy. I have always had pets in my home, but take great pride in my home being well cared for and clean. I would ensure your home would be taken care of in the same way while looking after your pets. Whether it is my home or yours, or taking your pets for a walk, I will be respectful and ensure your pet and your home is well looked after.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Hermitage
Reagan is my go-to sitter for my little spoiled queen cat, Koko! I have rebooked multiple times as I travel on and off for work. Reagan is reliable, trustworthy, but more importantly, she really loves being around pets. She takes her time with them and makes sure they feel loved during her visit. As a crazy cat mom, it makes a world of a difference knowing Koko is taken care of - I just don’t have to worry. Will continue to rebook and thankful I found her!

Crystal was absolutely excellent! We booked her fairly last minute for three drop-in visits for our cat. We had to extend it to five drop-ins due to a change in our flight, and she was flexible and helpful. She sent lots of photos and updates. She was even kind enough to drip our faucets since it was going to be super cold out, feed our fish, and brought in some packages for us. I would use Crystal again and recommend her!

Jordan is top-tier and took really great care of my cat. I would 100% rebook with Jordan. Jordan helped me out at the last minute for the holidays when I was in a bind. I received detailed information and photos of my cat while I was out of town for the week. I greatly appreciate Jordan’s help.

Sarah did a wonderful job taking care of our cats while we were away. She was reliable, attentive, and kept us updated, which gave us great peace of mind. Our cats were happy and well looked after. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hermitage. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
