About: I've been a cat owner my whole life but over the last 5 years I have become an avid dog sitter and owner! I spent my sophomore year of college living with two puppies, a chow and a Pitbull, and I have learned all the ins and outs of taking care of dog's, and even puppies! I am a frequent sitter to a bull dog and a lab as well! All in all I have had experience taking care of a diverse range of breeds with a wide variety of traits such as, hyper, loving, independent, or dependent; I am prepared for whatever comes my way! I have also been a loving cat owner for 17 years, and know all there is about cats and how to take care of your lovely kitties :) I work remote and I have an open schedule to care of my pets as well as your pets as needed and on a short notice! I ensure I know all the needs of any pets under my care to make sure the experience is comfortable and safe for your baby and myself. I put the needs of our furry friends before my own at all costs :)

“Elani is the best! 5 stars all the way!!”

About: I’ve taken care of the family corgi, Lucky, for 11 years now and have petsit for neighbor’s dogs, cats, and bunnies in the past. In addition to petsitting, throughout high school I was involved in a 4-H dog training club, where Lucky and I trained together, learning tricks and agility from certified trainers and earning AKC trick titles certifications. We got a Lucky as a puppy, so I have experience with younger dogs as well. I’m currently a college student at JMU and am on summer break until August 16th, so my schedule is pretty open. I’m unavailable on Sunday mornings (8:30am-12pm) but otherwise have plenty of free time during the rest of the week and can do visits or walking after 12:30pm on Sundays. I’m happy to accommodate whatever needs you and your pet have for care in your home. In the past, I’ve made multiple visits a day to owners homes to feed, walk, play with, and generally just check on and spend time with the animals. I have experience walking, feeding, playing indoors and outdoors, and cleaning up after dogs. I’m unable to board dogs at my house because of my own dog, but am definitely willing to care for them in their own home.

“Shawn is gentle with Wilson and has been able to coax him on a longer walk today. Shawn is always on time and very polite. He treats Wilson very well.”

“Eve is a delight! Friendly, easy to make arrangements with and quickly connected with our dog, Karragh. Karragh is recovering from surgery and can’t walk far, so Eve sat and read with her! So appreciative!!!”

“Tom and Cynthia have been extremely helpful when we’ve needed a last minute dog walker. Tom is fast at responding, which I appreciate. I can tell he takes good care of our dog :)”

“Keila was so amazing and patient with Ollie ! She went above and beyond to make sure Ollie was comfortable with her and he’s always tired after their walks. Highly recommend!”

“Marti is amazing! My pup absolutely adores her! Marti’’s incredibly reliable, responsive, and always goes the extra mile to make sure my pup is happy and well cared for. It’s clear my pup is in great hands. Highly recommend!”

“I've enjoyed Melissa coming to walk our dog. She's very gentle with him and he warmed up to her immediately. That doesn't always happen with our dog. Thank you so much!”

Related experience: - 11+ years’ total (including raising 2 standard-sized dachshunds from 16wks->10yrs, 7yrs paid sitting, and ~2yrs fostering normal->difficult to place doggies) - Trained/certified in basic->moderate first-aid/emergency care (more details below) - Practiced in administering at-home medication (including shots, eye/ear drops, oral, etc) - All sizes welcome, but primarily specialized in dogs 10-75lb - All ages welcome! Lunchtime and after work walks are my favorite, 1-2x/wk scheduled care is preferred. I am fully employed but work from home, and so have flexibility. Whether you have a yard, live in an apartment, or need your pet crated, your pet will always be safe and sound in my care! Just in case though, I always make sure to discuss any concerns ahead of time and verify regular and 24hr pet hospitals nearby!

Tierney S.
“To start, Tierney LOVES dogs! She is extremely comfortable with dogs of all sizes and breeds and never misses an opportunity to meet new ones. She lost her Saint Berdoodle to cancer and it broke her heart. Her school situation did not allow her to get another four legged friend, so she spent and spends her time dog sitting for my son's Pit/Lab mix and my daughters Pit/ Black Mouth Cur mix. Additionally, Tierney is the most responsible and reliable young woman I know. She is a recent college grad and scholar athlete, who managed to hold a 3.5 GPA while working two jobs and competing as a a D1 lacrosse player. Tierney displays a positive attitude towards work, school, challenges, and life in general. I am proud to recommend her for a position with Rover and I know she would be great addition to your team.”

Vicky C.
“Vicky would be an amazing pet caregiver for other's pets! She's had a lot of experience watching dogs, from her parents' dogs to foster dogs to other neighbors' dogs. Her love for dogs really shines through when she's watched all these dogs, from giving the dogs lots of love and affection, and making sure the dogs get plenty of exercise. I absolutely trust her with my dog if I need to go out of town and need someone to watch my dog, and highly recommend her.”

Abigail K.

“Abigail has been a huge help! She is kind, communicative, and can handle our chaotic Aussie with ease.”

Raevyn K.
“Raevyn is amazing with all pets, especially those with special medical needs as she has a knack for giving medicine, eye drops, injections, while not making an animal feel stressed out. She loves my two pups as if they are hers and they feel the same way. Highly recommend for walks, visits, and pet sitting.”

Shiva M.
“I've never met anyone more kind, compassionate and caring for pets than Shiva. She will be the best person you ever find to walk your dog and play with them. She will treat them as her own.”
